2088 Quarter 2 (April-June)
UCW: On the heels of the disaster that was Slamasters '88, Guile was expected to be quiet. Instead, he rebuilt! First, he announced that UCW was going to run another big event, this one in July. He also started signing more talent to long-term contracts, signing some of the wrestlers from the Slamasters show: Billy Jo Boxer and the evil Mesmer, to go along with the Norse Gods (yes, he stuck with them), Young Punks, Spike and (of course) Executioner. This core of talent, along with whatever independent talent they would find on tour, would be the basis of UCW cards for the next couple of months, with all the champs never really facing anyone that was a threat. Interestingly, the Norse Gods were turning into somewhat likeable oafs with the fans, with Lightening impressing some people once the hype was gone and he could really work.
GWF: April saw the return of the Gladiators, only for them to perform another heinous attack and get suspended again in their first match. Wolf also returned after a layoff with a victory over Krakan. Both the titles changed hands as the Federation Defense Force dominated, with Massif & Omega winning the tag belts for the second time and Star Warrior finally defeating his now hated rival Thantos for the Galaxian Title.
May saw (the now commonplace occurance) of the Greek Gods getting their titles right back, becoming 4 time champions. In an interesting result on the undercard, Reptillo shocked former Galaxian champ Krakan, while Star Warrior survived his rematch with Thantos with the title, but was injured. He vowed to fight on through the injury and did not vacate the belt.
Wolf made sure Thantos' misery continued in June, defeating him with a Savage Face Claw, while Reptillo came up just short against Bishop Hell. Both champions retained to end the month.

2088 Quarter 3 (July-September)
GWF: With Star Warrior still injured, the GWF let him take the month of July off without stripping him of the title. Instead, the month capped off with a big #1 contenders match between Wolf and Thantos, won (again) by Wolf! July also saw the first time that another of the AniMen, Battering Ram, would team with Badger. The duo defeated the team of Exo-King and Death Knight.
The Gladiators tried to return again in August, and this time they managed to get BOTH them and the FDF disqualified, so at least they avoided suspension. Still, the GWF executives were keeping an eye on them. The title match between Star Warrior and Wolf turned out to be a classic battle, with Wolf dominating most of the way before Star Warrior managed to come out on top with a Nova Launch. In a rare show of respect, the two men embraced after the match.
The Greek Gods were positively rolling over everyone they faced and the victory over the Society of Death squad of Ghengis Khan and Mutant was them at their best. A completely dominant effort that showed why they were the best team in the galaxy. The Gladiators, meanwhile, were relegated to the opening match on the September supercard, and managed to lose to the makeshift team of Incredible Badger and Commander Sam. Finally, the clock ran out on Star Warrior's brave title run, as Thantos managed to get himself in the title match and take back the title for the fourth time with the Masterlock.
UCW: Guile had taken a big chance with scheduling a supercard for July for his now struggling promotion. The hype was far more subdued than it was for Slamasters, and the result was a better (if less newsworthy) show. Both members of the Norse Gods defeated the Young Punks in singles matches, and in the main event Executioner retained against Billy Jo Boxer. After that, they went back on tour, being very careful not to put any of the titles in jeopardy (though there was a close call when an unknown named "Bounty Hunter" nearly shocked Executioner). Also interestingly, though they fought in almost every conceivable type of match, the Young Punks and Norse Gods never had a basic tag match for the titles...

2088 Quarter 4 (October-December)
UCW: Another 3 months of touring for the upstart outfit, but buoyed by the critical success of the July supershow, Guile announced that they would be running 6 supershows in 2089. They would include the now traditional Slamasters in February (an event that predated Guile's purchase) as well as a summertime tag team tournament to be known as the Guile Cup. Guile said that all the members of the UCW roster as well as any other wrestler (free to work for UCW, of course, so no GWF contractees) could enter the tournament which was scheduled for June. In the ring, Guile was still quite careful to protect his champions, giving them even easier opponents as before (perhaps fearing another "Bounty Hunter incident"), so the champions remained the same heading into the new year.
GWF: The end of the year brought another set of independent wrestlers to the GWF rings for "trials". This year Adam Blast was the big star, forming a very useful team with Commander Sam known as the Bomb Squad. The end of the year also meant gearing up for the prestigious King of the Galaxy tournaments, now in their second year. With all the champions holding on to their titles until December (including a failed challenge by Star Warrior that ended up injuring him further), all eyes were on the Galaxian Arena on New Year's Eve to see what would happen. In an amazing performance, The Bomb Squad outlasted the former tag champion FDF and The Gladiators to get to the finals and the title shot. They won the King of Galaxy tournament, but since the win over the Greek Gods was by DQ (due to the Gods showing a rather unexpected nasty side), they did not win the titles. In the singles ranks, Comrade Terror made it through to the final against the champion Thantos, but was no match for the Masterlock and quickly fell. Thantos became King of Galaxy for the second time and retained his title. It should be noted that Actagon and Proteus made an effort to find the Bomb Squad and apologize for their actions during the press conference after the event. They offered Adam & Sam a rematch for the titles any time they wanted..

2089 Quarter 1 (January-March)
GWF: The new year meant a new set of contracts to be signed, and a sad goodbye as the legnendary Omega decided to retire. He took a full-time position with the GWF Executive Committee, claiming there was simply nothing left for him to accomplish in the ring.
In the ring in January saw a massive upset for the Galaxian title when Comrade Terror knocked off Thantos. Bishop Hell continued his good start to his GWF career as he defeated former champion Lord Nexus and the Incredible Badger got a new partner...WOLF!
February saw Thantos win the title back, becoming a 5 time champion while the Gladiators FINALLY won the Galaxian Tag Titles! They finally looked to be on the right track in the GWF after many false starts. Meanwhile, an interesting rookie came on the scene on the undercard, Bounty Hunter had signed a contract with the GWF and he showed he was the real deal by defeating Bishop Hell.
Thantos took an interest in the rookie, and (perhaps wanting to injure the rising star) asked that he be the next challenger for the title! After an undefeated tour in March, the committee granted him the title match but Thantos' experience won out. He tried to injure the popular rookie after the match, but Wolf (of all people) came down to save him from further harm...
UCW: Reynald B. Guile tried to put the ghosts of last year's horrible Slamasters event behind him by loading up on new talent for the new year. He signed Pit Viper, Galactic Punisher, The Creeper and Reptillo to contracts before Slamasters '89, as well as signing 2 major title matches: The Norse Gods (who had attained a respectable amount of respect since their debut last year) FINALLY getting a title rematch against the Young Punks and Executioner defending the Universal title against the hated Mesmer. In the event, both titles changed hands as the year long reign of the Punks and the 2 year long reign of Executioner both came to an end.
At a press conference after the event, Billy Jo Boxer and Pit Viper challenged the new tag champs, forming a new team called Team Titan. In addition, Spike told everyone that he was tired of being overlooked for title opportunities, and demanded that Mesmer face him in April.

2089 Quarter 2 (April-June)
UCW: Anticipation was running high for the first Guile Cup in June, but first there was another supercard in April. The seemingly cursed Norse Gods found their temporary luck fleeting as they dropped the Universal tag titles to Team Titan (Billy Jo Boxer & Pit-Viper). Spike was widely tipped to take the Universal title from Mesmer, but an Eye Blinder kept the Aethran in his place and Mesmer retained. The team of The Creeps (The Creeper & Reptillo) had a way too brief time together, as after dropping a match to the former tag champion Young Punks, Reptillo, who had been pinned by Vanity, viciously attacked Vanity and was actually fired!
Soon after the 9 teams that would compete for the first Guile Cup were announced, and they contained some surprises, for example, Beast-Rider was hired on contract to take Reptillo's place. He was reunited with The Creeper to form the The Galactic Zoo. In addition, Guile announced that the 2 men that competed for the Universal title in April, Spike & Mesmer, would be a team in the tournament!: 1 Battering Ram & Earthquake (independent) 2 Mad Jester & Tongsoon (independent) 3 Death Knight & Killer Queen (independent) 4 Spike & Mesmer (UCW) 5 Galactic Punisher & Executioner (UCW) 6 The Galactic Zoo (Beast-Rider & The Creeper) (UCW) 7 The Norse Gods (UCW) 8 Young Punks (UCW) 9 Team Titan (UCW)
In the tournament itself, there were many upsets with the independent team of Mad Jester & Tongsoon going all the way through the preliminary round to the final before falling the Universal Champ Mesmer and Spike. It was an action packed tournament and many fans hoped it would be a yearly event.
GWF: April saw Wolf & Badger challenge the Gladiators for the titles. Brute pinned Wolf after a very physical match that took it's toll on all 4 men. Meanwhile, the Greek Gods earned yet another title shot with a win over the Society of Death.
The Greek Gods would cash in on their chance in May. The supercard also saw the return of Star Warrior after a lengthy injury break as he easily defeated Splatter. Wolf defeated Bishop Hell, but the big news was after the match when a Exo-King came down to double-team Wolf and injure him. Incredible Badger has disappeared earlier in the night and wouldn't be seen for a couple of more months. Bishop Hell and Exo-King were both suspended for their roles in the attack.
Though injured, Wolf would not be suffering in silence. After the Gladiators regained the titles from the Greek Gods in June, Wolf came out of the crowd and attacked the new champions earning him a suspension himself. Thantos made successful defenses of the Galaxian title on all 3 supercards in this period and was starting to look like a very dominant champion.

2089 Quarter 3 (July-September)
GWF: July saw a number of "interesting" events, such as the return of Badger and the recently fired (from UCW) Reptillo in a 6-man match. It also had Thantos defending successfully against the hard-luck Star Warrior. It was the tag team title match that again stole the news headlines, as the Bomb Squad of Adam Blast & Commander Sam won the Galaxian Tag Titles in a big upset! So infuriated by the loss were the Gladiators that they attacked the new champs after the match causing an injury to Commander Sam and leading, it was thought, to yet another suspension for the Gladiators. The truth, it turned out, was a bit more interesting than that...
In August, The Greek Gods won the Galaxian Tag titles for the sixth time. They also showed a bit of a darker side against the young Adam Blast, much like they did during King of Galaxy last year. Badger & Ram teamed together for the first time in a while defeating the odd team of the hated Splatter and popular Bounty Hunter. The latter team broke up soon after. Thantos made it a really bad night for the FDF by dominating the huge Massif to retain the Galaxian Title.
Normally, the GWF runs tours around the galaxy to build up to their supercards, but not a lot of note tends to go on on these tours. Title matches are typically non-existent, and the matches are usually just to give practice to those who may not be in the highest positions on the superards. What happened on the September tour, however, was quite newsworthy. It had been announced by the executive committee that the Bomb Squad would get a rematch against the Greek Gods for the titles on the next supercard. Commander Sam was still nursing injuries from the Gladiator attack (incidentally, the Gladiators were nowhere to be seen in either August or September), when he was scheduled for a singles match main event against Proteus on a small. nondescript moon in the middle of nowhere. Commander Sam pulled out the victory, but Actagon came from nowhere to attack Sam to the shock of the (small) crowd. The Greek Gods then went on to cut a profanity-laced interview on the GWF, the fans and all of the "so-called heroes, who wouldn't last a day where we come from." Could it be? Were the Gods going....evil? Footage of that interview was played in all the arenas across the galaxy and the fans started actually, actively hating the Greek Gods. It was so bad by the time the Supercard came around that they needed the local police force just to get into the ring! In the actual event, the Gods showcased their now common brutal style, with Proteus pinning Sam after a particularly vicious Overhead Toss. It appeared that the Gods were now evil, and were going to stay that way....
UCW: After the success of the Guile Cup, things were relatively quiet on the UCW front heading into the August Supercard. Galactic Punisher was named the challenger to the Universal title, while The Norse Gods were granted a title shot against Team Titan. At a press conference, a journalist mentioned that The Gladiators seemed to be having some problems with the GWF again. Guile stopped the journalist right in his tracks saying "Oh no, don't start this again. I got in trouble with this before, and we've only just recovered from it. Don't even think about it! I'm concerned only about the fantastic wrestlers I already have here in UCW. I don't want to even suggest about anyone who isn't under contract." In the event, both champions retained as Team Titan and Mesmer both recorded comfortable victories over their challengers in another solid event for UCW.

2089 Quarter 4 (October-December)
UCW: When pro wrestling historians talk about the history of UCW, the date October 14th, 2089 is considered the turning point: The day UCW entered the mainstream. Nearing the end of a successful year for Guile's promotion, they were scheduled to put on a decent (if not spectacular) at the WrestleHall. The main event was for the Universal Tag Team Championship between the champions Team Titan and the former champion Young Punks. Billy Jo Boxer retained for the champs after being Vanity with the TKO. During the celebration, Guile came down to the ring and congratulated Team Titan on the win, but before they left he had something to say: "A year and half ago, in this very arena, I had the worst night of my life. While I never lied to any of you, I did, purposely, misled many of you. I insulted your intelligence, and you all let me know. From that day I promised myself that I would make it up to you, somehow, someway. So Team Titan: You have another title defense tonight....." With that, Brute and Massacre came through the crowd and got into the ring to the shock of the crowd. Interestingly enough, many forget that Team Titan actually DEFEATED the Gladiators on that day, Billy Jo Boxer hitting another TKO (this one on Massacre) to retain for the second time in the night, but the Gladiators had arrived, and UCW would never be the same...
In December, the Gladiators got their first big win in UCW, destroying the great pretenders, the Norse Gods. Fellow Aethran Spike won the Universal Title with a SuperDestroyer on Mesmer. AS 2090 dawned, the big question was, would anyone (could anyone) stop the Aethrans from over-running UCW?
GWF: As is now the tradition, the end of the year was about bringing in new blood, and building toward the King of Galaxy tournaments. The loss of the Gladiators (see above) was taken in stride (at least at first) by the GWF brass, as they brought in the unique Cosmic Forces to fill out the roster. They did well enough to earn entry into King of Galaxy Tag Tournament, but lost to the Bomb Squad. Powerhouse (who had exchanged the tag titles with the Greek Gods the previous 2 months) were shockingly beaten by the AniMen team of Badger & Ram, who, after beating the Bomb Squad, went to the finals losing to the champion Greek Gods. In the singles tournament, Bounty Hunter went through a bracket filled with greats like Star Warrior, Wolf and Bounty Hunter to get a title shot against Thantos. He even won the match, and thus the tournament, however it was by DQ and he would have to wait to hold the Galaxian Title match.

2090 Quarter 1 (January-March)
(I'm going to a slightly different format now, dividing by month, as opposed to organization)
January: The new year started with the annual renewal of contracts, and the biggest news came from the fall out from the Gladiators joining UCW toward the end of last year. Fed up with a lack of opportunities, and seeing his enemies doing so well, the popular Wolf jumped to UCW! UCW acquired even more talent and Guile responded by scheduling a supercard a month, just like the GWF. In addition, Vanity turned on Pulsar, breaking up the Young Punks, and Pulsar repackaged himself as Pulsar Prime, forming a loose coalition with his former (GWF) tag partner Pit-Viper and Billy Jo Boxer of Team Titan. On the January 13th supercard, Mesmer ruined the UCW debut of Wolf, defeating him with the Blackout and in what would become the first of many "specialty" matches the Aethran team of the Gladiators and Universal Champion Spike defeated Universal Tag Team Champions Team Titan and Pulsar Prime in a non-tital Titan Death Match, with Spike defeating Billy Jo Boxer. Over on the GWF side, the team of Commander Sam & Adam Blast renamed themselves as the Western Powers (perhaps a subtle rip of the Eastern Dynasty team that was making a name for themselves in UCW?). They upset the Alien Corps team of Tongsoon and Comrade Terror in their supercard match on the 27th, while Star Warrior rolled through the now evil Reptillo, debuting the Cosmic Big Bang finisher. In rematches from King of Galaxy, both the challenging AniMen and Bounty Hunter won their respective championships, perhaps signaling the start of a new era (especially for the singles Galaxian Title).
February: The big event of the UCW calender was held, as it was time for Slamasters 2090! UCW brought in some outstanding outside talent for this one, including recent free agents Bishop Hell, and the card was headed by a triple main-event. Before those, however, there was the small matter of the Gladiators getting their "official" first tag team win over the Galactic Zoo. The first main-event was an 8-man elimination tag match featuring stars of the UCW past and present as Iron Mane, Wolf, Pulsar Prime & Executioner faced the Royal Family tag team (Mad Jester & Exo-King) plus their reinforcements, Killer Queen and Bishop Hell. In the event, Bishop Hell eliminated 3 of the heroes, before Wolf defeated him and Exo-King. Wolf was exhausted, however, and fell to the Checkmate by Killer Queen. What was thought to be a shocking upset at the time took place in the second main event as the Eastern Dynasty team of Ghengis Khan and Mitsuko defeated Team Titan for the Universal Tag Team Championship. The final Main Event was the first Tri-Challenge title match for the Universal Title as the Champion Spike, Mesmer and Galactic Punisher met each other in a match that was only decided after one man pinned the other 2 in 2 consecutive singles falls. Spike defeated Galactic Punisher in the first fall, but could not beat Mesmer to end the match in the second. Galactic Punisher made the most of his second chance by hitting the Verdict on Mesmer in the 3rd fall, before being pinned (again) by Spike in the 4th. Mesmer then defeated both Spike and Punisher with Blackouts to regain the Universal Title to end what many felt was the most exciting match in wrestling for at least the last 5 years. As if to underline the difference between the 2 organizations, the GWF supercard 2 months later had the SAME 2 title matches, and again 2 title changes as the Greek Gods and Thantos all regained their titles. While some found the card somewhat boring, the GWF "traditionalist" fans claimed that structure of the GWF kept it from the "chaos" that they saw in UCW. This event was also notable for a savage attack by Splatter on Krakan on Star Warrior that got the former fired.
March: The GWF supercard for March saw the two old teammates, Thantos and Star Warrior, battle once again for Galaxian Gold. Star Warrior won the match after a DQ, but did not win the title (of course) due to GWF rules. The Cosmic Forces had also earned their first shot at titles, but were repelled by the Greek Gods. Also, the Alien Corps got a small measure of revenge against the Western Powers, defeating them in a rematch from January's supershow. UCW, capitalizing on the firing of Splatter, picked him up as a free agent and immediately put him in a tri-challenge for the #1 contender to the Universal title in a match with Wolf and Killer Queen. Wolf defeated both the other men after Killer Queen had earlier pinned Splatter and thus would challenge at the next supershow. But who would he face? That would be answered as Mesmer defeated Galactic Punisher with a Blackout to keep the title. The Eastern Dynasty also proved that their win at Slamasters was no fluke, beating Team Titan again to retain their titles.

2090 Quarter 2 (April-June)
April: UCW further separated itself from the more "conventional" GWF by introducing a Gauntlet Match as the opening match on the April Card (it was won by Death Masque), and having a Cosmic Cage Match for a title (something the GWF would NEVER do) where Wolf won the Universal Title from Mesmer! Also, shockingly, Eastern Dynasty successfully defended the tag titles against the Gladiators in a match that ended in a double DQ. In a slightly tragic turn, the Royal Family team of Mad Jester & Exo-King severely injured the somewhat luckless Pit-Viper, a beating so bad that Exo-King was actually fired over it! A firing also occured at an otherwise typical GWF supercard, the controversial Bishop Hell being the victim.
May: With the big Guile Cup coming up the next month, the UCW supercard included a 14-man battle royal for a future Universal Title shot featuring most of the roster. Brute, somewhat surprisingly, won the Battle Royal having last eliminated recent GWF main eventer, Bishop Hell. The Eastern Dynasty remained the tag champions, but may not have had much momentum heading into Guile Cup. They were involved in another double DQ, this time against the Norse Gods. Meanwhile, Exo-King made his debut in the GWF, getting DQ'd against Star Warrior, while Thantos and the Greek Gods underlining their dominance as both retained their respective Galaxian titles.
June: The 2nd Annual Guile Cup took place in June at the UCW WrestleHall, this edition featured 11 teams, the seeding were as follows 1 Universal Tag Team Champions Eastern Dynasty 2 Gladiators 3 Royal Family: Mad Jester & Killer Queen 4 Norse Gods 5 Team Titan 6 Galactic Zoo: Terak & The Creeper 7 Universal Champion Wolf & Galactic Punisher 8 Mesmer & Spike (defending champions, but did not compete as a team since) 9 Pulsar Prime & Executioner 10 Mutant & Vanity 11 Splatter & Death Masque
The Results: Qualifying Round: Galactic Zoo beat Splatter & Death Masque Wolf & Galactic Punisher beat Mutant & Vanity Pulsar Prime & Execution beat defending champions Spike & Mesmer
Quarter-Finals: Team Titan beat Norse Gods Royal Family beat Galactic Zoo Wolf & Galactic Punisher beat The Gladiators Eastern Dynasty beat Pulsar Prime & Executioner
Semi-Finals: Royal Family beat Wolf & Galactic Punisher Eastern Dynasty beat Team Titan
Finals: Eastern Dynasty beat Royal Family
Two weeks later, the GWF had their June Supercard and they crowned new tag team champions as the AniMen regained the titles from the Greek Gods! In other matches, Star Warrior pinned Exo-King in a rematch, while Thantos retained the Galaxian Title against Bounty Hunter in a brutal match that left Bounty Hunter injured for a long time.
