Lions signed DT DJ Reader. He played with Cincinnati last year and had been with them for 4 years. Signed him for two years at $27.25 million. Not too high. Seems like he was respected in Cincy and could help our D line. Funny thing is I saw his name on the depth chart before seeing the story we signed him. I was like, "Who is he and when did we get him".
Of course, the big news for the Lions today was extending both GM Holmes and HC Campbell. They are signed thru 2027 now. That means at least 4 more years with them. I am a happy camper.

The Lions will not have to worry about Justin Fields running all over them when they face Chicago a pair of times next year. The Bears sent Fields to Pittsburgh for a 6th round pick. He is expected to back up Wilson. Hopefully if he sits a year and watches Wilson he will improve and be a real threat at QB.

We signed G Kevin Zeitler to a one year deal. He was a Pro Bowler last season with the Ravens. Nice signing that should keep our O-line at last year's level.

DE Romeo Okwara is retiring. Not a great loss for us. He had a couple good years in 18 and 20. He was decent last year.

Looks like the Lions lost a man for next season. CB Cameron Sutton is wanted in a battery case. I first saw this on ESPN's site this morning and this afternoon the local news reported on it because he lives a county or two over. The police have been looking for him for a couple weeks now. He has not been seen at his home and has not answered his phone. I see this ending a few ways and none of them are good. If he is guilty, and his actions say he is, I hope he gets what is coming to him.

The Lions cut Sutton. Good for them. I just wonder when the police will find him and what state of existence he will be when they do.

Giants picked up a Lion. Hopefully he is a good pickup.

Giants picked up a Lion. Hopefully he is a good pickup. I had to look to see who it was as did not see anything on the Lions page. OT Matt Nelson. I think he is at the very least a solid backup to give the Giants line some depth. He has starting experience. Hard to tell if he would have been that for us if not due to injuries as we have two really good tackles. Don't see terms so my guess is based on that and timing it is not a big dollar deal and likely a one-year deal. So, while not a game changer it is a solid pickup you and they should be happy with.

Lions will not be resigning WR Josh Reynolds as he is signing a deal with Denver. Not a huge loss but he leaves a bit of a hole. GM Holmes will pick up a WR on day 2 or 3 of the draft I am sure, and things will be ok.
