So Paralyze was recently introduced with a fan-made match of his own called the Ryloc Rod Match...now that Avarice has become my champ, taking the belt from Paralyze, I've been thinking of giving him a match of his own called the Bed of Roses.
Avarice is viewed pretty much as a pretty boy, which he is, but I give him the regalness of Steven Regal but the attitude and move set of Edge today. He's pretty on the outside but has that hardcore inner beast.
The idea is barbed wire wrapped in bunches to resemble the "roses" on plywood and boards to make it the "bed." Also to add to the thorny parts of the rose may have tacks and glass as well.
Is this a good idea?
Is it just another barbed wire match?
Any abnormal or not too insane spots I should include that may have been witness on other real world fed PPVs or shows like WWE, TNA or Japan?
It won't be a huge Jamie B. Wilson detailed match, but will have good content...short and sweet perhaps.

I'd put some sort of explosive stuff (or lighttubes behind the barbed wire, maybe?) on the boards.

I'll put that in the match description, great idea. Thinking about this, I may make 6 mini charts with d6 options on each chart. Have 2 different colored dice for this. Call out which dice to be read first. Roll. Say it's 6-3. You rolled on Chart 6 and use result #3. Charts: Barbed Wire. Glass shards. Tacks. Table (a "bed"). Light Tubes. Misc. (other props or weapons or combo spots maybe)

Giving a wrestler 'his own match' can make sense even when it isn't too far from the existing match types. It sounds as if you are trying to get over Avarice by making a small differentiation which is fine.
It is but that's not necessarily a bad thing. If I go to the specialty match archive and type 'barbed wire' there is everything from Bed of Nails to Bed of Thumbtacks. As a player a small variation on a common theme can pull me into trying a new chart.
Not a spot suggestion but in order to make the match different you may want to add a post match 'Stitch Severity Chart'. There is going to be blood...but how deep? Will scars be visible? A simple chart drives home the point that a man does not walk away from a match as brutal as this without resulting storyline consequences.

Awesome. I love the idea of a Stitch chart. I already have those ideas brewing on how to maybe implement it. Thanks guys, you're a big help.

I tried to make a chart along the same idea. I called it the Blood Loss Chart. I had a Blood Chart for during the match and one once the match was finished. Wrestlers in addition to getting regular fatigue tokens would get blood or blood loss tokens. Then based on the number of tokens that's what part on the chart they would roll. I'd have to take a look at it again but I tried putting things on it like +1 to Agility, PIN, ect. Awesome. I love the idea of a Stitch chart. I already have those ideas brewing on how to maybe implement it. Thanks guys, you're a big help.
