Connor (my 11 year old) and I are starting a fed, based on the midwest wrestling scene we check out monthly at 3XW shows. Midwest Championship Wrestling will run out of the four cities that currently host these four indy promotions: Des Moines, IA - 3XW Kansas City, MO - Metro Pro Wrestling Council Bluffs, IA - Pheonix Pro Wrestling (we'll run shows in Omaha, NE, which is right across the Missouri River!) Waterloo, IA - Impact Pro Wrestling (host of the wrestling show for the Thesz/Tragos Hall of Fame weekend) Our plan is to run 2 shows every other weekend, like a ROH or CHIKARA tour. Throughout the year, we might add a couple of spot shows like 3XW and IPW run at county fairs or other events. Our roster will be comprised of the 3XW set that's available on this message board, and some other guys that Connor is familiar from indy shows like Tyler Black, Arik Cannon, Austin Aries, or other LOW names like Bryan Danielson. Basically it's Connor's fed, to get him familiar with the world of LOW (and maybe someday COTG). I just give booking advice. We'll start things off with a 2 card tournament for the MCW Heavyweight Championship, and will eventually crown MCW tag team champions. We might bring in a few guests from time to time, like Hacksaw Duggan or Colt Cabana, who have both made guest appearances at IPW shows we've attended. Enjoy!

Midwest Championship Wrestling Show #1 January 6, 2012 Val Air Ballroom, Des Moines, IA
Ring announcer Daryl Moon welcomed fans to the first show of Midwest Championship Wrestling. The finest wrestlers from around the country are flocking to the Midwest to be a part of MCW. Moon introduces the combatants for the first match in the MCW title tournarment!
FIRST ROUND MATCHES – MCW TITLE TOURNAMENT 1. Brian Ash beat Sir Bradley Charles with the DEVASTATOR. Ash’s experience made the difference in this one. A back and forth match saw Ash hit the DEVASTATOR out of nowhere for the victory.
2. Mark Sterling made Bryan Danielson tap out to the MARKSHOOTER. Local favorite Mark Sterling beat Danielson in what has to be called an upset. Sterling was able to ground Danielson, and hit a pair of spears before locking in the finisher.
3. Gage Octane crushed Tyler Black, ending the match with the 12 GAGE. Octane swarmed the Iowa native, never allowing him on offense. Not a strong showing for Black.
4. Jeremy Wyatt beat Arik Cannon with the KC CROSSFACE. Both wrestlers have a high impact offense. Wyatt was able to get the CROSSFACE on the in center of the ring. Cannon struggled for the ropes, but tapped out.
5. SIX MAN SCRAMBLE MATCH – Mike Sydal, Zach Thompson, Tyler Cook, Krotch, Tony Sly, and Ricky Kwong. All six man battled in and out of the ring in this wild affair. The first man to gain a pinfall on one of his opponents would be declared the winner. In the later stages of the match, Zach Thompson and Mike Sydal, former tag team partners as the High Flyers, squared off. Thompson got the win by pinning Sydal following 2 crushing DUBLIN DRIVERS.
6. Devin Carter & Casanova (Gentleman’s Club) beat AJ Smooth & Ryan Slade (Sexy & Smooth) when Carter pinned Smooth after two consecutive TASTY TREATS. Todd Countryman’s team of Casanova & Carter showed why they are one of the top teams in the Midwest. While Countryman and Casanova battled Slade at ringside, Carter dominated Smooth inside the ring. Carter hit his finisher twice and got the three count.
Check out MCW’s second show on January 7, coming from the Turner Rec Center in Kansas City, MO! We’ll have the semifinals and finals of the MCW Heavyweight title tournament, Zach Thompson battles Mike Sydal in a singles match, and a pair of tag team battles!

Great results, brother! Cool to see the homegrown talent beat the "bigger" stars in Danielson and Black. Can't wait to see who wins the MCW championship!
