The same thing happened in my Early Classics fed. Dorado Sundown were my first tag team champions and they stayed longer than they were supposed to because nobody (they walked all over the Guardians) could defeat them and take away their tag team championship.
For Dorado Sundown I ended up doing an angle similar to what the WWE is currently doing with Ric Flair in which they agree d to leave the GWF once someone could defeat them for their tag championship and the tag team to finally do that was Paladin Power.
I didn't have so much of a problem on the tag team side. Dorado Sundown won the tag belts in early 2075, but the Guardians took them away six months later, and DS never got them back.
My problem was that Blacklash took the heavyweight title from Omega and would not lose it. That's what kept Dorado Sundown around until mid-2076 for me, until Omega finally won the belt back (and promptly lost it to K. O. Keller, who has been the toughest overall wrestler in the fed so far).
The weirdest thing of all is that Keller has been pretty dominant, winning 20 of his first 24 matches in 2076 (which I just finished)--but three of the losses were to Santon, who finally took the title from Keller. I can see no reason based on their stats that Santon should be dominating Keller, but for me Keller can beat everyone else and can't beat Santon (and Santon is barely above average against everyone else). Go figure.
