Ho did/do you decide to come up with the amount of matches and segments( interviews, vignettes etc.) per show. Some people i see have 4-5 matches and some over 20. I know the roster size is a factor.

I usually do between 6 to 8 matches. And maybe 2 or 3 segments, maybe more depending on how much is going on in the fed, and what matches or feuds I want to set up. I usually don't do interviews, segments and what not just to do them, or just to get someone on air, unless it's setting something up. My segments are always there just to set something up. I try to keep things short and sweet, so I don't overdo things, and so that things don't get to repetitive.

thanks for the feedback. Sometimes i do an interview so a new guy coming in can get some time on air too. I will write on the side of my page( matches are on the left) on the segments highlights. 'd like to write it all but to much to do. Just doing highlights of the segment would be fine? Do you write your interview/segments out before the matches or as they go on?

It all depends.
In my fed...there are 3 classes of shows.
I have SUPERCARDS...which are like PPV's or BIG EVENT type shows...and they'll usually have between 8-12 matches...depending on feuds and roster size.
I then have high profile shows...sort of like a RAW broadcast...this is the kind of show I play 70-80% of the time...and I'll usually have anywhere between 5-8 matches...(usually its 5-6)...with an in-ring promo or two (to continue feuds and storylines without a wrestler having to wrestle...or to give the GWF Champion some face time for example...) and maybe some Backstage stuff with The Commissioner or guys just hanging out backstage talking about an upcoming match.
Then I have the small shows, which are usually used to bridge the gap from a high profile show to a SUPERCARD...I've built up all the matches for the SUPERCARD, but don't want to have a full card right before a PPV that might screw up my plans (a Title contender loses a 'meaningless' match before the SUPERCARD...)...but sometimes you need to 'hype' up the SUPERCARD a bit more, so I'll hold a small card with 3-4 matches (usually low-mid card guys who won't be on the SUPERCARD...with maybe one or two bigger 'stars' in a match to give the fans in attendance a big name or two (I mean, who would pay to see a card with 4 matches, with a Gryt v. Reckless main event?) Think of this kind of show like HEAT or ECW...or just a 'exhibition' for fans at a smaller (2000-5000) seat arena.
I also don't have a 'regular' schedual. I try to have a card every 2 weeks (game time) at least...but sometimes I'll have 3-4 shows in the span of a couple of weeks (if the company is on Tour...). My GWF doesn't have a weekly H.V. show...but all the shows (unless otherwise stated) are on H.V. I also hold most of my cards on Deimos...small ones at the S+A Center...big ones at the Deimos Arena. I also have a yearly 'Earth Tour' and go to Andromeda at least once a year.
Hope that helps.

I'm currently having about 2 segments a card for my aCe houseshows. One interview and the other is probably dealing with a storyline thats going on. Matches usually are around 6 on a regular card. Now with my aCe PPVs I only do segments for story purposes (don't always do them) and I usually try to make sure that someone is in some sort of fight.
In GWF 2087 I'm playing it more straight with no real segments going on. I probably will start doing that more as time goes on and the cards are about the same as my aCe.

Thanks again for the feedback. That helps. I am in EC from the way beginning so i'm thinking of doing a behind the scenes in the locker room for pre/post match talk and usually Omega is in the beginning wit hMorpheus /with some sort of incident in the beginning. No real interviews yet as i keep it kind of a oldstyle wrestling not on tv yet. A monthly event show

I do up to 8 matches for regular cards and up to 10 matches for PPVs.
I use a "Between Matches" chart on all my shows to help me decide which segments to use (interviews, backstage brawls, conversations, etc.). You can probably find it in the "Open Source Content Archive" (or whatever it's called) on this board.

In my 2087 (roster of 24 at this point) I try to fit as many matches in my weekly show as I can...usually 8 cards. Yet, I may change when I see fit. Injuries, six-man tags, etc... may change this number as time passes. I guess I'll just play it according to how the storylines are going and stuff. I also usually have two major interview segments.
