I just got back from the television tapings from the Du Burns Arena right in Baltimore, Maryland.
Overall I felt that I got my money's worth. I honestly haven't been to a live wrestling show in a long time but I'd definately go again.
I won't spoil anything because mainly I'm tired and will probably forget something. I'll just give a few random comments.
They taped four shows over the roughly 3 1/2 hour span.
*I've never really understood why fans like Kevin Steen so much. That is until I saw him live. He's got charisma and the fans do love his brutality. He was second only to the Briscoes in crowd reaction.
*The Young Bucks may be my new favorite tag team. They mixed the obnoxious heel routine well with some very athletic aerial skills.
*I was surprised at the somewhat mixed reaction Davey Richards received. His title vs. title match against Jay Lethal was one of the best matches I've seen live.
*I love the Embassy. Prince Nana and his crew were pretty funny especially "Marchie Archie".. ahem that is Barrister R.D. Evans.
*Maria (former of the WWE) was ridiculously hot.
*There wasn't too much I didn't like about the show. R.O.H. presents pro wrestling the way I remember it - with tag team matches, managers, valets and clear, easy to follow rules. It's a proven formula and you don't need 8-sided rings or an overabundance of chair shots.
*If I had any complaints it was the overuse of the enzugiri. I know the crowd pops for that slap of the thigh instead of a forearm but it got to be too much.
*Truth Martini also did a great job at ringside. Get this guy in LOW.
*The crowd was pretty in to it most of the night with the highlight being a guy dressed in a full Jushin Liger outfit with title belt. I forgot how interesting the crowds can be.
If you guys have any questions about the event I'd be happy to answer.
