Old-school WCW production music played as the old WCW logo faded up onto the screen along with the word "Rebirth".
Eric Bischoff is in the ring and welcomes up to a sold out arena in Milwaukee Wisconsin for WCW Rebirth, where tonight 30 WCW Superstars will compete in a Royal Rumble match, with the final two wrestlers to go one-on-one for the WCW World title this week on Nitro.
Bischoff then asks that everyone give a warm welcom to the new WCW announce team of Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby The Brain Heenan! The crowd cheers in approval as the two make their way to the announce table.
Heenan - "Now I just have to say gorilla, I was just in the back and I told all the superstars competing here tonight that I would be watching and taking notes. They all wantto impress me as I'll be re-forming the Heenan Family"
Bischoff then tells everyone to enjoy the show and that he will indeed air McMahons tape at the conclusion of the boradcast. Also, Mene Gene Okrelund is back and will attempt to get interviews throughout the night.
The first entrant announced to the ring is... 1 - Jacques Rougeau!... and #2 - Road Warrior Hawk!
The two battle back and fourth for a minute before Hawk uses his power to dominate the french superstar.
#3 - Bobby Eaton.
Eaton hits the ring and goes right after Hawk. Rougeau joins in and for the next two minutes tit is a constant double team.
#4 - Mr. Perfect
Perfect hits the ring and comes to Hawks aid by taking it to J. Rougeau. Perfect uses his superior wrestling skills to dominate and even hits the PERFECT PLEX. Bobby Eaton continues to give Hawk a beating, in anticipation of the upcomming tag title tourney.
#5 - Buff Bagwell
Bagwell enters and after sizing up the combatants, goes to work on Mr. Perfect. His attack from behind allowed him to gain some momentum and even hit a BLOCKBUSTER. This allowed Rougeau to aid Eaton against Hawk, who did manage to mount some offense and battle back.
#6 - The Sandman
The Extreme Icon entered and went used his brawling style to get the better of Bobby Eaton. Hawk made a comeback against Jacues Rougeau and tossed the french-canadian over the top, while Mr. Perfect eleminated Buff Bagwell after putting him to sleep. While Perfect stopped to tell the crowd that he was Perfect, Sansman snuck up behind him and dumped him over the top.
#7 - Dan The Beast Severn
Dan Severn came in like a mad dog, and brutalized the Sandman with a german suplex followed by WAKIGTAME. This allowed Bobby Eaton to win this round of the feud with the Road Warriors by tossing Hawk out after a spinning neckbreaker.
#8 - Greg The Hammer Valentine
Greg Valentine did not live up to expectations as he entered the ring, tossed Eaton to the corner and charged at him. Eaton moved out of the way and The Hammers momentum carried him over the top to the outside. Eaton then took a breather in the corner while Dan Severn and Sandman brawled back and fourth.
#9 - Road Warrior Animal
Bobby Eatons rest was short lived as Animal rushed to the ring and went right after his enemy. Animal used power moves and chokes to wear Eaton down before tossing him to the outside and gaining a small measure of revenge. Dan Severn also managed to get the better of the Sandman and eleminated him.
#10 - Bad Ass Billy Gunn
Billy Gunn enters and is immediately grabbed by Aminal and tossed into the corner. Not learning from Greg Valentines mistake, Animal rushed in, missed Billy Gunn and eleminated himself. Dan Severn then tossed Billy Gunn into the ropes and telegraphed a back body drop. Gunn stopped, grabed Severn by the head, and ran him across the ring tossing him out to be alone in the ring. The degenerate then played to the crowd with his trademark crotch chops and taunts.
