Tournament Part 1 and Other Stuff
Team 3G defeated Paradise Lost when Nakagawa pinned Rush following the sliding lariat. This was a big battle but Rush got drilled by a Skate and Destroy, then slingshot into the turnbuckle before Nakagawa used the lariat to gain the victory. (Rush rolled Snake Eyes)
Tournament Match 1 Moose pinned Frank Dalton with the Spear. This was a war. Dalton took a beating but he still nearly upset Moose a couple of times before Moose finally hit a perfect Spear for the win.
Tursas put down Paul London with the Diving Crossbody (+3). London nearly pulled the victory a few times but after going for a slingshot rollup, Tursas made a major kickout and then drilled London with the Diving Crossbody to take the fall.
Tournament Match 2 Angelo Poffo upset Iron Sheik with a running stomp. Sheik just never could get it clicking and Poffo took advantage with an early Neckbreaker. Sheik eventually made a comeback but missed a diving splash and Poffo followed up with a running stomp for the pin.
Nation of Intoxication defeated The Brawlers (Sage Strong/Malta the Damager) following a Country Boy Press on Strong. Moore and Thurteen battered down Strong and Malta's only time in the ring was stopped by Thurteen. After the match, Moore and Thurteen downed a couple of drinks.
Tournament Match 3 Necro Butcher finished off Brutus Beefcake with Choose Death. Beefcake nearly put away Butcher several times but in the end, Butcher hit his finisher and got the victory.
Tessa Blanchard pinned Sara Del Rey after pinning her with a sunset flip block and cover. Blanchard saw an opening when Del Rey tried a sunset flip and covered her and held the ropes for leverage. (Del Rey rolled snake eyes)
Tournament Match 4 Randy Savage squashed Bobby Heenan with the Flying Elbow Drop. Pretty Boy was no match for the Macho Man as Bobby did managed to avoid a body slam and used one of his own but lost control quickly and Savage dropped a pair of knees before hitting the big elbow and scored the three count.

Fully expected Macho Man and Moose to advance, considering their first round draws... But, it was a cool surprise that Papa Savage (ummmm, Poffo) made it to the next round...
Also great to see some top female talent in action... Too bad Tessa resorted to underhanded tactics to beat SDR...
Very nice kickoff to what should be a fun filled tournament... Excellent work!

Really fun card TTX! My favorite though was Poffo upsetting the Iron Sheik - that was tremendous! Also agree with Pariah, enjoyed the Del Rey & Blanchard match. This one was a close second for me. Always enjoy your posting style too. Right on my friend.

Worker Ant II edged Rex Havoc with a discus clothesline. Worker Ant pounded Havoc but Havoc did not want to stay down kicking out time after time and making comeback after comeback until finally Ant caught him with a discus clothesline and put him dow for the three.
Tournament Match 5 Buddy Rogers demolished Blue Meanie with the Figure Four Grapevine. Rogers easily handled Meanie with a quick hip toss and then putting on the Grapevine. Meanie held on for 20 seconds before finally submitting.
Donovan Dijak pinned Matt Tremont after Feast Your Eyes. Dijak barely broke a sweat as he battered Tremont before hitting the Dijection and then Feast Your Eyes to put him away.
Tournament Match 6 Jimmy Snuka put away Lenny Lane with a power slam. Snuka simply squashed Lane as he dropped him on the floor with a flying headbutt before tossing him into the ring and hitting a power slam for the three count.
The Young Bucks upset The Road Warriors following the Indytaker on Hawk. The Roadies looked to crush the pretty boys but somehow they survived a pair of Doomsday Devices and then Nick caught Hawk with a suicide dive and tagged in his brother before using the Indytaker for the upset.
Tournament Match 7 Adam Cole crushed Samuray Del Sol with Panama Sunrise. This was not particularly close.Cole dominated most of the match with his hard hitting arsenal and cut off Del Sol any time he tried to make a comeback. Eventually Cole grew bored and hit the Panama Sunrise and Del Sol could not reach the sun in time.
Barbi Hayden put away Shotzi Blackheart with the Hayden Halo. This was a wild brawl and Shotzi had an early advantage but Hayden came back and battered her down. Eventually, Barbi managed to catch Shotzi off guard and hit the Hayden Halo dropping her for the victory.
Tournament Match 8 Jay Briscoe pinned Nikolai Volkoff after the Jay Driller. This was surprisingly back and forth. Jay used his offensive arsenal including anything that was not nailed to the floor but Volkoff's power came in handy a lot during the match. Eventually Briscoe wore Nikolai down before using the Jay Driller to win.
