I must say when I went to the Colts/Browns game in Indy this year and the Browns beat the Colts we had several fans yell things at us. Unfortunately two guys were taking it too far and my friend approached them. Three friends and myself in a parking lot filled with Colts fans, yeah it had the potential to escalate, but we scared the shit out of the 2 guys hollering obscenities and names at us and most everyone else seemed to understand not to get involved.
That's the problem, people being surrounded by people who are automatically on "their side" so all the sudden they have the numbers and are supermen. Luckily, in Indy fans generally gathered the idea that the Colts fans were in the wrong and stayed out of it, but I don't know how well we'd have done in that parking lot had it turned out to be a brawl. Let's just say we should have never embraced the situation like that, but you can only take so many "f******, p******, q****" being yelled at you as you walk by to not confront them.
We actually received apologies and beers from 2 other groups of Colts fans around the idiots, so that did soften the blow afterward.
