There were two new signings to report - Bob Roop is the biggest name, and an indy star from the Central States area. Poor Tim had to endure the usual flurry of questions about the usual suspects, and as usual Tim and Tom and the Olson Bros. continue the yeoman's efforts of trying to recruit more legends into the fold.
Thanks, Tim, for your ongoing efforts!

With Tom having so many irons in the fire with the new GWF set and the Stan Lee book project, there really wasn't much to talk about.
However, we did raise a couple hundred bucks for the Dan Gable International Wrestling Institute & Museum with some auction items and did have two signings from the banquet:
First is potentially for another LOTF set - a midwest indy guy, CHANCE CORDOVA.
Second is 1968 Greco-Roman Olympian and former Mid South North American champion BOB ROOP. Roop was also a big star in Florida. He was thrilled to be in the same game as Danny Hodge, but felt it would take more than dice for him to beat Danny. We haven't done the full background search yet, but I know he held tag titles with Harley Race and Bob Orton Jr. and feuded with Ted DiBiase, Dennis Condrey and Pepper Gomez. I'm sure there are more LOW connections that we'll find once we do the research.
In addition to these two, Tom is continuing to try to get new leads. As we both mentioned at the convention, the best way to get someone on board is face to face. Things like e-mail and website contacts just don't work since they can't get a feel for what the game is all about.

I really like the Bob Roop signing. He'll give a nice MidSouth flavor and work well with DiBiase and Duggan among others.
Can't wait for the next set.

Roop is such a nice guy in person, and having gotten to see him on some classic Mid South matches recently, I was excited he signed up for LOW. I'm looking forward to his card being released in the near future and matching him up against some fellow Mid South guys.

Just curious, is there any idea when the next Legends set will be released?

nothing official but it seemed like they were aiming for the end of the year with a big push to try and sign some more names in the next 3 months.

Bob Roop is a solid signing.
I must request that down the road a LE card of MAHA SINGH is a must have. Always loved that character with Sullivan and the Purple Haze.

I have some Mid South Wrestling dvds that I have watched and of the ones that I had I felt Roop was the stand out. What I am trying to say is I am excited for this one. This is a great, more regional type signing.
I had never heard of Chance Cordova but I will have to check him out now.
