Anyone else going to watch the first game (other than the 2 games played last week between the Mariners and As in Japan) of the season today in less than 2 hours?
For me this week is Spring Break and I was originally hoping to be in Miami this week for last weekend's Wrestlemania 28, but I didn't have enough money this year unfortunately. If so, I probably would have been at this game today- but even if it is only on TV I am looking forward to seeing the new Miami Marlins stadium.

North America's Opening Day saw the Cardinals defeat the Marlins 4-1 in the first regular season game played at Marlins Park.
Kyle Lohse had a no hitter going into the 7th Inning and David Freese (last season's NLCS MVP and World Series MVP) continued his hot hitting from last year's post season as he went 3 for 5 with 2 RBIs.
Marlins Park looks pretty cool on TV but I think that home run sculpture looks sort of stupid- at least when it is inactive. I was hoping a Marlins player would hit a home run so it would move and I could see if perhaps it did not look as dumb in motion but that did not happen as the Marlins only got 4 hits (3 singles and a double.)

I'll be interested to see how the Marlins draw throughout the season. In recent years they've had as few as 200-300 people in the stands in september.

The Marlins will continue to draw crap. Miami fans only support the Dolphins.
