***BREAKING NEWS***
Jim Crockett Jr.: After repeatedly taking calls from one Mr. Bryan Danielson in my office and hearing his complaint about his World Title match that is going to take place at the Donald J. Major Tag Team Memorial Cup, against Rob Van Dam and how he doesn't think that this match is fair and pretty much refused to defend his title. After talking with the board of directors we have decided that the rematch for the title will no longer be a no disqualification match but it will be a falls count anywhere match. Also if Bryan Danielson does not show up for this match he will be stripped of his World Title and Rob Van Dam will be rewarded the World Title. Thank you fans and we are looking forward to the action taking place at these tournaments across the territory.

Hell if only JCP promotions would have enter a partnership with ted turner and bought out the promotions but still kept the promotions active. He would undoubtly made history by doing this. Have both the Regional and National membership of the NWA.

I am getting ready to post the results for the Crockett Cup with a quick run down of the first few rounds. They would have been up way sooner but I was in the hospital. Keep in mind mine is the Donald J. Major Memorial Cup Tag Team Tournament. The reason for the name is I also always like the Jim Crockett Cup but Donald J. Major is my Grandpa who passed 6 years ago but got me into wrestling and it was the N.W.A. JCP that we watched.

The date of this was originally held on May 14, 2012 Richmond Coliseum - Richmond, Va. Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling Bracket Highlights
The Briscoe Brothers had a surprisingly great back and forth match with Danny Dorring and Roadkill. At one point Doring almost pinned Mark Briscoe but the pin was broken up by Jay. Mark Briscoe did finally get the pinfall for his team after Jay Briscoe hit Roadkill with the Jay Driller Driver. (Note Mark was up to 3 tokens).
The Heartbreakers took on the team of Danny Hodge and Jerry Lynn. Phil Davis actually almost pinned Hodge after they connected with the Heartbreaker however Hodge managed to kick out and made the tag to Lynn. Lynn picked up the count out win for his team after hitting Phil Davis with his Cradle Piledriver on the outside of the ring.
Nick Bockwinkel and Ray Stevens made very short work of the Hillbilly Wrecking Crew. The Wrecking Crew is Brodie Lee and Necro Butcher.
Bob Orton Jr. and Don Muraco advanced after they put away the young punks known as Generation Me.
Johny Valiant and Gorgeous George beat tournament favorites The Road Warriors by disqualification. Animal and Johny V were brawling at ringside when Animal got dq'd for hitting Johny V. with a folding metal chair multiple times. Just a note for the fans as popular as The Road Warriors are they have never advanced past the quater finals of the tournament in the 4 years that I have run the tournament.
Curt Henning and Rick Rude beat former Florida Tag Team Champions D-Lo Brown and Al Snow to advance to the next round.
The Hillbillies Jim and Cousin Jr. pulled off the big upset of the first round of the tournament. Hillbilly Jim made Greg Valentine submit to a very powerful bearhug. After Greg submitted The Dream Team were eliminated. They are former N.W.A. World Tag Team Champions and also former finalist of the tournament as well.
In a very fast paced match that the fans were treated too, The Backseat Boyz Trent Acid and Johny Kashmere defeated Jigsaw and Mike Quakenbush. After the match Quakenbush pushed his partner and then hit him over the head with a steel chair blaming him for the loss.
2nd Round Action for the Mid-Atlantic Region
The Briscoes pulled off what many of the fans felt was an upset when they defeated the team of Nick Bockwinkel and Ray Stevens. Mark Briscoe pinned the former 5 time N.W.A. World Champion Nick Bockwinkel after Jay hit the Jay Driller Driver to help put away Nick Bockwinkel for the pin.
Danny Hodge tied Don Muraco up like a pretzel and made Muraco submit to held advance Jerry Lynn and Danny Hodge into the next round.
In a match that went back and forth Gorgeous George made Rick Rude submit to the spinning to hold. Rick Rude and Curt Henning were elimnated and Gorgeous George and the Lucious one Johny Valiant advance to the next round.
Johny Kashmere made short work of Cousin Luke and got the win for his team with the Cradle Breaker. Advancing to the next round The Backseat Boyz as they beat The Hillbillies.
3rd Round of the tournament for the Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling Bracket
This was a match that the fans in attendance and watching on Pay Per View and also on Closed Circuit Television were really looking forward too. This match was between The Briscoe Brothers and Danny Hodge and Jerry Lynn. This match was everything that the fans thought that it would be. It was back and forth and a very fast paced match. The end came when Mark Briscoe clearly got frustrated that the Briscoes couldn't put away Jerry Lynn or Danny Hodge and Mark Briscoe threw Lynn over the top rope and got disqualified by referee Scrappy McGowen.
The Backseat Boyz picked up a quick disqualification victory over Johny Valiant and Gorgeous George when George hit referee Tommy Young from behind. George tried to make it look like Trent Acid pushed him into Tommy Young while Young was reprimanding Kashmere and Johny V for brawling outside. Young saw George purposely run into him, so he awarded the match to the Backseat Boyz.
In the Quaterfinal match and the final match for the Richmond Coliseum Mid-Atlantic Bracket The Backseat Boyz faced off against the new team of Jerry Lynn and Danny Hodge. Danny Hodge started out the match for his team again Johny Kashmere. The two of them went back and forth like two big bulls. Kashmere finally got the advantage and tagged in a very anxious Trent Acid. Hodge made the tag to Lynn. Jerry Lynn was clearly taking the younger Trent Acid "to school" so to say. He hit him with his Cradle Piledriver but did not get a pin. The two of them started brawling on the outside of the ring. Lynn clearly was frustrated and threw Acid into the steel ring post and then grabbed a chair from Gary Michael Capetta and started hitting Acid repeatedly with it. Acid was split wide open and referee J.R. Jackson called for the bell and awarded the match to The Backseat Boyz by disqualification. The Backseat Boyz move onto the semi-finals to be wrestled in Norfolk Va. at the Norfolk Scope Arena.
Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Title Match Larry Zybysko vs. Super Crazy
Larry Zybysko came in defending his championship against Super Crazy. Larry Z started out the match like a man on a mission. He did not let Super Crazy get in any offense and finally put him out of his misery with his finisher the Piledriver.
United States Heavyweight Title Match Magnum T.A. vs. Brent Albright
Magnum T.A. came into this match as the newly crowned U.S champion. He was defending his championship against the former champion Brent Albright. These two have had a few matches between them over this championship. Brent Albright started out this match and you could tell he was a man that wanted to get back his championship. Their last match was a greatly contested 2 out of 3 falls match that Magnum won but barely did so. Every single time Magnum would start to gain any control on offense Brent would regain the momentum. The end of the match came when Albright connected with a beautiful over the back one armed suplex. That spelled the beginning of the end for Magnum as Albright hooked the leg and got the 1,2,3 and became a two time United States Heavyweight Champion.
Bob Caudle: What a fantastic way to kick off the Donald J. Major Memorial Cup Tag Team Tournament. In what I would consider a true upset The Backseat Boyz are moving on all the way to the semi-finals and have only two more matches to go until they could become this years cup winners and win that one million dollars. Also do not forget if they win the cup and the money they also get themselves a N.W.A. World Tag Team Title match anytime they want to face the champions. It will be for one time and one time only but they can ask for the title match on any card they feel like it. That is all for now. Let's head over to my colleague Tony Schiavone who is over at the Norfolk Scope Arena for the next bracket which is also the Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling bracket as well.

Tony Schiavone: Thank you there Bob Caudle. We are here live in Norfolk, Virginia at the beautiful Norfolk Scope Arena. We are here for another Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling bracket of the Donald J. Major Memorial Cup Tag Team Tournament. Do not forget folks the Semi-Finals and the Finals here as well. We are also going to have the rematch for the World Heavyweight Title in a falls count anywhere match between Bryan Danielson and the former champion Rob Van Dam. So let's go down to the ring for the action.
(We will go with the highlights as we did with the previous part of the tournament).
The Hooligans are here to take on the Samoan Swat Team led to the ring with Sir Oliver Humperdink. The Hooligans are the tag team of Paul London and Brian Kendrick. (Of course they were supposed to be known as this in real life however Johny Laurenitis did not like it and told them he was getting ready to break them up and push them as singles. A week later Paul got fired. Just a little info for you all). Paul London and Alofa started out the match against one another. The Hooligans however kept the match to their pace. They kept tagging in and out and confused the S.S.T. Paul London got the pin on Alofa following the 450 degree splash.
The next match was between Mr. Fugi and Mr. Saito taking on the Naptown Dragons led to the ring with Johny Fairplay. Fuji started out Scotty Vortekz. Fuji and Saito clearly did not take the Naptown Dragons seriously. When Dustin Lee started to get the upper hand on Fuji, Fuji grabbed his salt bucket and slammed it right up against the head of Lee. Referee Scrappy McGowen quickly called for the bell and disqualified Mr. Fuji for hitting Lee with the ceremonial salt bucket.
The London Connection none other than Nigel McGuiness and Exotic Adrian Street led to the ring with Miss Linda. They were taking on Bob Armstrong and Jimmy Valiant. Armstrong and Valiant had great chemistry together for teaming for the first time. Valiant got the win for his team when he put on the sleeper on Adrian Street and picked up the win for his team.
The American Wolves picked up a win over Arik Cannon and Erik Stevens by countout. In a match that the fans were pretty psyched up about it did not go that way. The American Wolves controlled the majority of the match. Eddie Edwards was on the outside of the ring with Erik Stevens and in a very surprising move picked up and gave a piledriver to Stevens on the outside and picked up the win for his team by count out.
Kings of Wrestling with Larry Sweeney took on the Ophidian Project in this match up. Claudio and Chris clearly had the upperhand in this match. Claudio was on the outside with Amosis and delivered a vicious Ricola Bomb. He climbed back into the ring and Amosis got counted out.'s
The Bolsheviks with Nikita Breznikov took on Ricky Landell and J.D. Michaels with lovely April Hunter. This match did not go on that long as Ricky Landell clearly flustered both Volkoff and Zukhov. Volkoff got DQ'd for intentionally throwing Ricky Landell intentionally into referee J.R. Jackson on purpose to get himself disqualified.
Steve Corino and Jimmy Jacobs with Kevin Sullivan took on the team of Delirious and Drake Younger. Corino took Delirious to school in the beginning of the match. Corino was controlling the offense for his team. Corino took the action outside of the ring. At this point Delirious and Corino were brawling on the outside. Delirious seized the opportunity and gave Corino a piledriver on the outside of the ring to get his team the win by count out.
The Ant Colony had the unlucky draw of taking on the Miracle Violence Connection. Terry Gordy started out the match against Fire Ant. Terry Gordy pretty much took on both of the Ant Colony members himself. Evidently Green Ant could not take seeing his tag team partners getting their tales kicked and he jumped in the ring and got into the ring and got his team disqualified.
(Note to those of you reading this, that was a very brutal first round for me to roll. As we all know you can't help the dice but I had 3 matches end with DQ's and 3 end by count out. Let's hope this next round is much better).
2nd round matches for the Mid-Atlantic bracket
Brian Kendrick picked up the very quick pin against Scotty Vortekz after hitting him with Slice Bread #2, to help The Hooligans advance to the round.
The American Wolves had a very nice back and forth match against Bob Armstrong and Jimmy Valiant. Both of the teams were hitting each other with various moves and finishers back and forth. The end of the match came when Eddie Edwards climbed to the top rope and came off with a beautiful high cross body block on Jimmy Valiant and picked up the win for his team.
Ricky Landell and J.D. Michaels had a big task ahead of them by taking on the team of the Kings of Wrestling. The Kings of course came to the ring with Larry Sweeney of course. Ricky Landell started out the match against Claudio and had maintained the majority of offense for his team against Claudio. Claudio tagged in Chris Hero, and Hero took the upper hand on the young Ricky Landell. Landell tagged out to J.D. Michaels. This now was a big man vs. big man match. The end came when J.D. Michaels took Chris Hero up to the top rope and delivered a thunderous powerbomb from the top rope and pinned Chris Hero.
Miracle Violence Connection took on Delirious and Drake Younger. Terry Gordy again controlled the majority of offense for his team. Steve Williams came in and delivered a vicious lariat clothesline to Drake Younger. Williams tagged in Gordy. Gordy put away Younger with a sleep hold. I guess this was to show the fans that he could put away an opponent with either a power move or a purely scientific hold.
Round 3 for the Mid-Atlantic bracket of the tournament
In a match that had the fans buzzing after intermission. The fans were looking forward to seeing these two tag teams tangle. The match however did not really deliver. It was clearly one sided. The Hooligans controlled the match against the American Wolves from the opening bell. Paul London put Eddie Edwards away after hitting him with the 450 splash from the top rope.
The Miracle Violence Connection came in and decimated the tag team of Ricky Landell and J.D. Michaels. Steve Williams clearly wanted to make a statement here in this match at just how tough he and his partner were. Steve Williams took the match outside and delivered a very vicious Oklahoma Stampede to Ricky Landell to win the match for his tag team by count out.
Quaterfinals and final match for the Mid-Atlantic region bracket
This was the match for the young tag team of The Hooligans to prove just how tough they were. Paul London and Brian Kendrick made quick tags in and out of the ring. It was clear from the beginning that The Hooligans wanted to make the pace of this match very fast. Paul London at one point had a very close fall against Terry Gordy after hitting him with the 450 splash. Terry Gordy took Paul London out of the ring and wanted to show just how tough he was. Terry Gordy thought that Steve Williams had referee Tommy Young distracted however Tommy Young turned around and caught Terry Gordy delivering a very sick piledriver on top of a steel chair to the outside of the ring splitting Paul London wide open. Tommy Young disqualified Terry Gordy for this heinous action. The Hooligans advance to the semi-finals. They will be facing The Backseat Boyz in their semi-final match up right here in Norfolk, Va. at the Norfolk Scope.
Tony Schiavone: What a great night of tag team action that we just witnessed. We saw the young tag team and current U.S. Tag Team champions The Hooligans advance to the semi-finals which will take place here in Norfolk, Va. Be sure to tune in here on Pay Per View or your local Closed Circuit location to catch the next bracket of matches taking place at the Fort Myers Exhibition Hall in beautiful Fort Myers, Florida. Gordon Solie will be on hand to call the action for Florida Championship Wrestling. That's all for tonight from the Norfolk Scope, I am Tony Schiavone. Thanks for watching tonight's tournament action and be sure to catch the rest of the action as it is just starting to heat up. Good Night everyone.

Florida Championship Wrestling bracket for the Donald J. Major Memorial Cup Tag Team Tournament the winners will advance to the semi-finals to be held in Norfolk, Va. at the Norfolk Scope Arena.
Gordon Solie: Thank you folks for joining us here in beautiful Fort Myers, Florida at the Fort Myers Exhibition Hall. I am Gordon Solie and I will be taking care of calling the action for you fans. Thank you all for joining around the country watching on Pay-Per-View and those of you as well catching us on Close Circuit Television. Now let's get down to the ring and get to the action.
1st Round matches for the Florida Championship Wrestling Bracket
The Midnight Express w/Jim Cornette took on the tag team of Finlay and Dave Taylor. Dennis Condrey took the action right to Finlay the minute the bell rang. Finlay made his way to his corner and tagged in Dave Taylor. Dave Taylor did not fair much better either. Condrey tagged in Bobby Eaton. Bobby Eaton hit a stinging right jab to Dave Taylor and Taylor tagged in Finlay. Eaton got Finlay down on the ground and went to the top rope and came crashing down with a high flying elbow drop. Eaton hooked the leg and referee Tommy Young counted the pin.
Team F.I.S.T. went up against the Memphis Mafia (Eddie Gilbert and Bill Dundee) w/Jimmy Hart. Eddie Gilbert started out the match for his team against Akuma. The action quickly spilled out of the ring. Jimmy Hart got up on the apron and distracted referee Randy "Pee Wee" Anderson. Eddie Gilbert picked Akuma up on the outside of the ring and delivered a vicious Hot Shot finisher right across the top of the guard rail. Eddie Gilbert got into the ring and watched as the referee counted out Akuma giving the win for The Memphis Mafia.
Konan and Justin Credible teamed up to take on the tag team of the Masked Superstars 1&2. Masked Superstar 1 started out the match for his team against Konan. He locked Konan in the Cobra Clutch however the finisher was broke up by Justin Credible. Konan must have sensed he was almost finished after a Second Cobra Clutch, because he grabbed Justin Credible's Singapore Cane and nailed Masked Superstar 1 with it. Referee Teddy Long called for the bell immediately and disqualified the team of Konan and Credible. (Superstar 2 and Justin Credible never even tagged in).
Colt Cabana teamed up with the veteran Diamond Dallas Page to have a first round match against Brad Armstrong and Bob Roop w/Kevin Sullivan. I would like to let the fans know that Brad Armstrong is going through a drastic change as do all of Kevin Sullivan's Prince of Darkness Army. Brad Armstrong has now shaved his head down to a very close buzz cut and he has also shaved his beard off too. He looks totally different now. DDP started out the match against Bob Roop. Roop controlled the opening sequence of moves against DDP. DDP tagged in the fresh Colt Cabana. Cabana came in like a house of fire. He hit Roop with so many moves that Roop didn't know what hit him. Roop tagged in Brad Armstrong. Armstrong just waited for Cabana to miss a move, before he moved in for the kill. Armstrong hit Cabana with a running high knee lift. So DDP could not break up the pin Kevin Sullivan pulled him down off the apron. Armstong hooked the inside leg and referee J.R. Jackson counted the pin.
The high flying Japanese junior heavyweights teamed up for this match. Jushin "Thunder" Liger & current N.W.A. Junior World Heavyweight champion. They took on Canadian Violence Dick Hutton and Angelo Mosca with Sir Oliver Humperdink. Tiger Mask started out right away with lightening quick offense against Angelo Mosca. This clearly had Mosca flustered as he didn't really even notice when Tiger Mask had ascended to the top rope and came flying down with a beautiful cross body block. Tiger Mask made sure to hook the leg and referee Tommy Young counted the 1,2,and 3.
A rather odd pairing for a tag team, teamed up. Johny Saint and the former male porn star himself Val Venis. They faced off against Ivan Koloff and Iron Sheik w/Nikita Breznikov. Johny Saint started out the match for his team. Ivan Koloff charged Saint after the opening bell rang. Ivan Koloff attacked with a vicious streak, more vicious than usual lately. Breznikov distracted Scrappy McGowan while Koloff seized the chance to hit Saint with his Russian Chain. Iron Sheik was grinning from the corner and yelling for Koloff to do it again. Koloff went to hit Saint again but was stopped by Val Venis. Johny Saint then took over on the offense. Before Koloff realized what had happened he got put away by Johny Saint with his 3 in 1 finisher. It was lights out for the Russian Bear as the team of Johny Saint and Val Venis advanced to the next round.
Harley Race and Larry Henning w/Bobby Heenan took on the Rat Pack (Jim Duggan and Ted Dibiase Jr.). There was a good mix of cheers and boos for both teams. However if I were to pick a favorite team for the crowd to cheer for I would pick the Rat Pack. Dibiase locked up in a collar and elbow tie up with Harley Race to get things started for his team. Dibiase was already in the ring with his black glove. He went over to his corner and put something in the glove and cold cocked Race with it. Race kicked out of the pin attempt. Dibiase then managed to lock in the figure four on Race. Larry Henning came into the ring and broke up that finisher as it looked like Race may actually submit. Dibiase stayed in control on offense and tagged in Jim Duggan. Duggan got surprised by Race who connected with a long standing vertical suplex. Race then landed a falling headbutt on Duggan. Duggan was groggy by this point and Race took advantage of the situation and picked Duggan up and connected with his Piledriver finisher. Referee Randy "pee wee" Anderson counted the pin. Advancing to the next round tournament favorites Harley Race and Larry Henning.
2nd Round action in the Florida Championship Wrestling Bracket
The Memphis Mafia w/Jimmy Hart took on the Midnight Express w/Jim Cornette. Before the match both managers had words for each other and how well they knew each other and who they managed. Eddie Gilbert started out the match for his team against Dennis Condrey. Gilbert worked over Condrey real quick and tagged in and out with Dundee. Clearly the strategy was to keep Condrey in the ring and not let him tag out. Dundee tagged in Eddie Gilbert who shot Condrey into the ropes and caught him coming off and hit his Hot Shot across the top rope. Cornette tried to distract J.R. Jackson but Jimmy Hart pulled him off the apron and threatened to hit him with the megaphone. The referee counted the pin and The Memphis Mafia is moving on in the tournament.
Masked Superstars 1&2 took on Brad Armstrong and Bob Roop w/Kevin Sullivan. Masked Superstar 1 started out the match for his team against Bob Roop. When Superstar #1 clearly had the advantage for his team, Kevin Sullivan reached into his cloak and gave Bob Roop the Golden Spike. Roop hit Superstar #1 in the chest with the spike right in front of referee Teddy Long who called for the bell. Roop ran off the ropes and jumped through the air to try and take out Superstar #1 but Superstar #2 got his partner out just in time before anymore damage could be done. Kevin Sullivan and Armstrong and Roop left the ring all smiling and laughing sadistically. Clearly those three men are very deranged.
Jushin "Thunder" Liger and Tiger Mask faced off against Val Venis and Johny Saint. Johny Saint locked up with Tiger Mask to get things started off. Tiger Mask was keeping Johny Saint on his feet with his quick moves. Tiger Mask nailed Johny Saint with a jumping spinning back heel kick knocking Saint out of the ring. Tiger Mask went out there after him and in a move that is normally not something Johny Saint would do he picked up Tiger and gave him a piledriver on the outside of the ring. Saint went back into the ring and waited for referee Scrappy McGowen to count out Tiger Mask. Johny Saint and Val Venis won the match by count out and advanced to the next round of the tournament. Clearly this team of Saint and Venis are the dark horse tag team to win this tournament but they are looking better and better in each match.
Austin Aries and Roderick Strong are taking on the favorites to win this tournament Harley Race and Larry Henning w/Bobby Heenan. Aries and Strong got here to this round by beating Soul Patrol (Johny Rodz and S.D. Jones) by count out. Aries started out the match against Harley Race. Race took the quick advantage against Aries, however Aries held his own against Race which was surprising to many in attendance. Race tagged in Henning and Henning looked like he was going to put away Aries, however Aries kicked out. Henning went to grab Aries and Aries tagged in the fresh man on the outside Roderick Strong. Strong came in like a house of fire and took the offense to Henning. Henning found himself getting nailed with Strong's finisher the Gibson driver. Heenan tried to interfere but referee J.R. Jackson would not allow himself to be distracted. Jackson counted the pin. Aries and Strong advance to the next round of the tournament. Heenan gave a quick interview and said it was a conspiracy against the Heenan family and clearly the referee had to be paid off. Heenan said he would be talking to board about this. Johny Fairplay who is the manager of Aries and Strong said Heenan can claim whatever he wanted but his team advanced and they would be the winners of the million dollars, the cup, and the World Tag Team Title shot. Fairplay said be prepared to buy now stock in Fairplay enterprises because the stock was on the rise and will continue to rise just as his tag team will.
3rd round action in the Florida Championship Wrestling tournament bracket
The Memphis Mafia w/Jimmy Hart came to the ring to the song Hot Stuff. The Memphis Mafia had a clear look of confidence coming into this match. Their opponents are Masked Superstars 1&2. Superstar #1 started out the match with Eddie Gilbert. Superstar #1 tagged in Superstar #2 who took over where his partner left over. Gilbert was clearly over matched by these two very huge masked men. Gilbert tagged in Bill Dundee. Superstar #2 tagged in Superstar #1. Superstar #1 put Gilbert in the Cobra Clutch. Jimmy Hart tried to interfere and hit Superstar #1 with the megaphone but it backfired and he accidentally nailed Eddie Gilbert with the megaphone. Superstar #1 locked in the Cobra Clutch once again and put away Gilbert. Advancing in the tournament the Masked Superstars 1&2.
Austin Aries and Roderick Strong w/Johny Fairplay came out to face the tag team of Johny Saint and Val Venis. Austin Aries started out the match against Johny Saint. Aries clearly was a man on a mission. He came in and disposed of Johny Saint with a very powerful brainbuster. Referee Randy "pee wee" Anderson counted the pin and the team of Aries and Strong advance to the next round.
Quarter-Finals Match to determine who goes onto the Semi-Finals Austin Aries and Roderick Strong w/Johny Fairplay came out to the ring very cocky. Masked Superstars 1&2 came to ring very serious and looked like they were ready for a fight. Masked Superstar #1 came in taking Austin Aries lightly, you could clearly see. Aries frustrated the big man Superstar #1 and Superstar threw Aries over the top rope earning a disqualification victory for the team of Aries and Strong. Aries and Strong will move on and go to Norfolk, Va. at the Norfolk Scope to compete in the semi-finals.
Florida Heavyweight Title Match
One Man Gang w/Sir Oliver Humperdink (Florida Champion) vs. Pepper Gomez
Gomez is known mostly to compete in the junior heavyweight matches. Pepper Gomez has however earned himself a shot at the Florida Heavyweight Title. One Man Gang has lived up to his name pretty much while defending this championship as he is pretty much a One Man Gang so to say. OMG was beating the heck out of Pepper Gomez. Every single time that Gomez would pull off a move, OMG would come back from it. Sir Oliver Humperdink was very pleased to see how well OMG was wrestling. OMG connected with his 747 splash but due to the very well built abs that Gomez has it didn't affect him as much as it does some other wrestlers. The end of the match however showed just how frustrated Gomez was getting for not being able to pin OMG. Gomez went out of the ring and grabbed a metal folding chair, Tommy Young tried to stop Gomez who just shoved him aside and attacked OMG. He was hitting OMG with the chair and knocking him silly. Sir Oliver Humperdink grabbed OMG and got him out of the ring. Tommy Young called for the bell and won by disqualification therefore OMG retains his Florida Heavyweight Title.
Gordon Solie: What a fantastic night of wrestling action we just saw. However just like we saw in Norfolk, Va. in the other Mid-Atlantic tournament brackets we had our fair share of count out wins and disqualification victories. We also saw One Man Gang keep a strong grasp on the Florida Heavyweight Title. Fans this tournament continues down in Georgia for the Georgia Championship Wrestling tournament bracket and we will see who will take on Austin Aries and Roderick Strong in the semi-finals. I will be there to call all of the action for this portion of the tournament as well. Be sure fans if you live in Georgia to go to Atlanta, Georgia and go see the jammed pack action as it takes place at the lovely Omni in Atlanta, Georgia. You can also see this on Pay-Per-View or at your local arena on Closed Circuit Television. That's all for now folks see you in Georgia. Goodnight everybody.

Gordon Solie: Welcome once again to the Donald J. Major Memorial Cup Tournament. Tonight this is the Georgia Championship Wrestling bracket. Whichever team wins this portion of the bracket will go onto to face Austin Aries and Roderick Strong managed by Johny Fairplay. They will square off in Norfolk, Virginia at the Norfolk Scope Arena. Tonight I will be calling the action for the Pay-Per-View audience and those of you watching on Closed Circuit Television as well. I am here tonight along with a sell out crowd at The Omni in Atlanta, Georgia. So now let's go down to the action.
The Heavenly Bodies w/Jim Cornette who are also the current Florida Tag Team Champions as well. They are taking on the Killer Bees. Stan Lane started out the match against B. Brian Blair. Stan Lane used a barrage of karate kicks on Blair. At one point Lane tagged in Tom Pritchard and hit the Rocket Launcher. Blair kicked out of the pin and made his way over to his corner and tagged in Jim Brunzell. Brunzell started out well against Tom Pritchard, however Lane distracted referee Scrappy McGowen giving Pritchard an opportunity to wrap a chain around his fist. Pritchard punched Brunzell square in the jaw, the referee didn't see it. Pritchard scored the pinfall victory for his team.

Mad Dog tagged in his brother Butcher Vachon. Lou Thesz took Butcher out of the ring and ran Butcher right into the ring post. Tommy Young disqualified Lou Thesz for this. This is truly out of character for Lou Thesz.
In a post match interview with Lou Thesz I asked him about this very aggressive side that he was displaying. He said that he was angry. He said he had been here in the N.W.A. for over a year now and had yet to get a title shot. He said he couldn't believe that the president of the N.W.A. Jim Crockett was allowing Bryan Danielson to get away with everything that he was getting away with. He said he couldn't believe that the champion of the World, the man representing the N.W.A. as the World Champion was telling the fans that the only way that they would get to see him was either by buying a ticket to a house show or if he was defending the title on Pay-Per-View. Lou Thesz that personally this made him sick. He said that he has busted his butt all over the different territories and he felt he deserved a World Title shot. He said that when he got his shot against Bryan Danielson, he would not only win the World Title but that he would be an honorable champion and take on any challenger anywhere and anytime, whether it was on Pay-Per-View or on a house show or on a weekly television show.

Both teams were tagging in and out and delivering very crisp double team moves on each other. RVD went outside and grabbed a chair and set up Tom Pritchard for the Van Daminator. RVD thought that Bill Alfonso had distracted referee Scrappy McGowen. What RVD didn't count on was that Jim Cornette would blast "Fonzie" with his tennis racket. RVD went corner to corner and delivered a Van Daminator. Referee Scrappy McGowen could not let this deed go un-punished and disqualified RVD and Sabu.

The Vachons then went out of the ring and each grabbed a pair of chairs and threw them at Reginald Love. Referee Tommy Young was ducking chairs while calling for the bell and giving the match to the Love Bros. by disqualification.
(Man I must admit that I myself hated playing out this show so far. It was brutal. 4 disqualifications and 1 count out in the first round that is brutal but I guess that is what happens when you have a tournament).
Tyler Black & Kevin Sullivan took on the very unpredictable Sheepherders. Luke Williams started out against Tyler Black. Luke Williams took right to Tyler Black. At one point he yelled I will show you just how vicious the Sheepherders can get. Butch Miller took over where Luke Williams left off. Luke Williams was in the ring and got angry and threw Johnathan over the top rope getting a disqualification against his team The Sheepherders. Don Leo Johnathan and The Destroyer have won all of their tournament matches by either disqualification or count out.

Bob Caudle: Welcome tonight fans to the Norfolk, Scope. We are going to see tonight the semi-finals and the finals of the Donald J. Major Memorial Cup tag team tournament. We are also going to see an N.W.A. World Heavyweight Title match tonight between champion Bryan Danielson and his challenger Rob Van Dam in a falls count anywhere match. We are pleased to have you join us here on Pay-Per-View and around the different arenas on Closed Circuit Television. Now let's go down to ringside where my colleague Tony Schiavone is down there with the N.W.A. World Heavyweight Champion Bryan Danielson.
Tony Schiavone: It is my pleasure right now to introduce everyone to the World Heavyweight Champion Bryan Danielson. Welcome Bryan.
Bryan Danielson: First of all you got it right it is your pleasure. Second of all I have right here a letter from my attorney. So I want to have Jim Crockett Jr. come on out here so that I can give him this letter from my attorney. (Jim Crockett Jr. makes his way down to the ringside area, at this point Bryan Danielson hands him the letter from his attorney). Now see Mr. Crockett, and I use the term Mr. very lightly. You see right there is a letter from my attorney, and in that letter it states that by me defending my championship in a falls count anywhere match, that it provides a unsafe work environment. So if you think that you can make me defend the championship tonight against Rob Van Dam in a falls count anywhere match, you have another thing coming. I will leave this promotion tonight and take this title with me.
Jim Crockett Jr.: Listen Bryan, I promised these fans tonight a World Title match and that is what they are going to get. So if your little lawyer claims that this match will provide an unsafe work environment, then so be it. Tonight's match will still happen but it will be under regular rules. I am sorry fans for this. However my hands are tied.
Bryan Danielson: Once again I am proud to be your World Heavyweight Champion. Once again you the fans will get what you want and that is seeing me compete and defend the title tonight. Tonight I will make all of you happy when I defeat that wannabe champion Rob Van Dam.
Bob Caudle: I can not believe this, once again Bryan Danielson gets his way. This makes me sick to my stomach. Let's go down to the ring and get started with the semi-finals of this tournament.

These two young wrestlers are going at it tooth and nail. London hit Kashmere with the 450 splash and went for the pin but Trent Acid broke it up. Kashmere tagged in Trent Acid and Acid took over and showed why he is one of up and coming young wrestlers of today. Paul London made his way over to the corner and tagged in Brian Kendrick.
