Apparently Kane doesn't think highly of Republicans; blogs.tennessean.com/politics/2011/could-tennessee-have-its-own-jesse-ventura/As for why I posted about my friend, the LGBT community sees a lot of that hatred. Many of them face it every single day, just for who they are. So yeah, certain people don't react well to people making derogatory comments. Once again, I don't condone Punk's telling the guy to kill himself, but I understand it and could see myself doing the same thing. You're free to disagree with Punk for his actions, but he did apologize. Whether it was on his own or Vince made him, we may never know, but he took responsibility for what he said. Let's hope it did enough damage to keep them from talking about Twitter on Tv.

What Punk said was out of line in many people's opinion (me, I could care less), but I get the feeling he was telling a certain segment of the anti-gay crowd to "kill themselves". You know the crowd I'm talking about - the mean, hate-filled bigotted dumb arses who have, in the past, said far worse things than Punk did.
In my opinion, when it comes to this gay marriage issue, the anti crowd really doesn't have a leg to stand on. There is, in my estimation, no good, valid reason to make it illegal and using 'faith' as the reason just doesn't cut it, not in a country that has seperation of church and state. I don't agree with the gay life style, but it's really none of my business and if they want to get married, let them. They are people too and deserve all the same rights and freedoms us straight folks enjoy.
To be honest, from time to time I'd like to tell some of these geniuses to 'kill themselves' myself. :-)
Moving on ....
I can understand disagreeing with his opinion or even thinking his statements were disgusting, but to use this small incident (and it is minor incident no matter how you slice it)as a reason to be finished with him is overreacting a bit. That being said, I totally agree with your opinion on CM Punk when it comes to his wrestling. He's a shell of his former self and the complaining rubs me the wrong way.

Tolerance? Pricks? They said homos were "gross". Maybe you don't consider anything about it gross. Maybe others like you don't either.. But for a lot of people, it's probably best described as "gross". Is saying it's gross really hating? I think people who pick their nose are gross. Does that make me a hate mongering bigot toward nose pickers? Or is it it just gross? At what point do you guys simply strip the rest of society of their basic human feelings and instincts? When does the day come that everyone will be told what you think, feel and how to react? And if they don't, they can "kill themselves." When does that happen? Sorry, but CM Punk is out of my fav 5. If you want me to keep politics out of wrestling, it starts with the wrestlers. Kane is a hardcore Republican. Best part about that is he you'd never know about it, and he doesn't go on Twitter and tell those who oppose his views to "kill themselves." Calling the homosexual lifestyle gross is merely opinion and the person saying it is simply using their freedom of speech. Just because you don't like what someone else said doesn't make it hate speech. The whole idea of hate speech is a slippery, slippery slope if you ask me. Freedom of Speech should be freedom of speech, no matter what, all the time, and in any situation. The problem comes when folks want to influence law/policy making and restrict another's freedoms because they think the other person's lifestyle is 'gross". And for the record, i think the homosexual male lifestyle is gross (lesbians..they're cool with me. yes i know, DOUBLE STANDARD!!!). I know, I'm a terrible person, but I'm not trying to push my beliefs/opinions on anyone else through law making like these jackasses are doing.

Vince has dragged politics and religion into wrestling all the time. He loves controversy. Punk didn't get busted with drugs or get drunk and punch someone. He told off an idiot. My friend's parents told her she should kill herself just because she's a lesbian. And they never apologized over it! And the people 'with no brains' are those in NC who voted for this law. They can have all the opinions they want, but they just voted to take rights away from people, not to mention they burned themselves in the process. That's why I said they have no brains. The best part about this is I doubt WWE will be wasting TV time talking about Twitter this week. These people make me sick. They are flat out wrong. No ifs ands or buts about it. Their opinion is wrong and they are wrong. They have zero support for their position, and most of them, sorry to say, are the cliche'd conservative "geniuses" who want the government to keep their hands off their medicare and out of public schools. These people complain about a (fictional) 'war on religion' yet laws like these are being passed whose whole foundation is a religious one (They are against gay marriage because God says it is wrong and that marriage is between a man & a woman). They let an invisible man in the sky from a 2000 year old fairy tale dictate large portions of the way they live their life. The Flying Speghetti Monster is a better entity to look to for moral guidence. Its sad that in 2012, gay marriage, and gay rights in general is still an issue. We're supposed to be a civilized people living in a free country. We live in a pluralistic society, yet people still can't stand people (and likely want to take away their rights) who are different than them (for trivial reasons like skin color, religion, or sexual preference). This is one of the main reasons I worry about having children. How could I possibly bring a child into this world of ours? How irresponsible that would be.
