CHIKARA TRIBUTE SET
“Sweet ‘n’ Sour” Larry Sweeney The Sweet Man with a Sour Attitude The vintage 80’s throwback wrestler is one most loved and most hated combatants in CHIKARA history. Sweeney made his debut at the 2nd Young Lion’s Cup tournament and won the tournament thanks to the interference from his Sweet ‘n’ Sour International stable. However, the title Sweeney is most famous for is the ICW-IWCA Tex-Arkana Television Title, an honor he has won an astonishing 27 times. He is a well accomplished manager, getting his stable any advantage he can with his loud mouth and shady tactics. ’68 Comeback Special – A neckbreaker and DDT combo 12 LARGE ELBOW – A flying elbow drop
Johnny Saint The Man of a Thousand Holds The British Legend, is most well-known for his time on the Classic English wrestling program World of Sport. A master of thousands of unique holds and nearly as many reversals of others’ holds. After a lengthy retirement, Johnny Saint has made a limited return to wrestling and made his US debut at Chikara’s 2009 King of Trios. In Chikara, Saint’s tag team partner is Mike Quackenbush. Elevated Surfboard – Saint lifts a face down opponent backwards by the wrists, while locking the legs behind his knees The Russ Abbot – Saint does a leapfrog, crawls backwards between opponent's legs and performs a school boy roll-up Three-In-One – An evolving sequence of two submission moves, locking the arm, leg and head, used to wear down an opponent Johnny Saint Special – A move sometimes also called the Lady of the Lake, Saint rolls himself into a ball, and when the opponent grabs his hand, he rolls into an arm lock
El Generico The Generic Luchador While not an official member of the CHIKARA roster, El Generico is a big fan favorite amongst the Chikarmy. He can whip the crowd into a frenzy with his hard hitting and risk taking offense, which always elicits an soccer stadium-style chant of Ole’! He won his first CHIKARA title in 2011, winning the Rey de Voladores tournament. Ole’ Kick – A running big boot to an opponent standing in the corner BRAINBUSTAAAHHH!!! – A brainbuster that drives the opponent’s head into the top turnbuckle
AMASIS (Osirian Portal) The Funky Pharoah Few wrestlers can excite a crowd like the dancing Egyptian Amasis. His unique ring style is a blend of wrestling and break dancing. Opponents often try to challenge Amasis to a Dance Off, but they usually just get served. Amasis most often teams up with Ophidian as the Osirian Portal, and together they won the Campeonatos de Parejas in 2008. EGYPTIAN CONNIPTION – Crucifix flipped into a reverse STO OSIRIAN SACRAMENT – Simultaneous diving leg drop by Ophidian and diving splash by Amasis SNAKE CHARMER – Amasis holds Ophidian in a wheelbarrow hold, and Ophidian places his hands together and waves them at the opponent and hypnotizes him. The opponent will do what the Portal command him to do…including many times participating in a Dance Off!
OPHIDIAN (Osirian Portal) The Serpent from the Nile The serpentine Ophidian is one of the most unique CHIKARA characters, being the only one to slither to the ring on his belly. His agility and flexibility is his strong suits, as well as his unrelenting submission maneuvers. Although best known for his tag team work, Ophidian has won some singles accolades, including the 2010 Rey de Voladores tournament. DEATH GRIP – A cobra clutch while wrapping the opponent in a body scissors (Ophidian is sold as a separate Limited Edition card)
