Reynard B Guile- That would just be poetic justice if this was actually the case and it would be the ultimate swerve. Mr. Guile used to wear a top hat just like the unofficial artwork for Iron Hand correct?  |

I'm almost positive that it'll be a new character or one that has been in since New beginnings.
Tom doesn't like to go back and revisit old characters very often.

That's why I'm not totally sold on Thantos. I think if it's an old character, that's the best choice, but the other part of me says it's just somebody new.

You guys aren't making this decision easy for me...
Tom doesn't generally bring back old guys, but if he does, there's usually a compelling reason. Thantos coming back to stick it to his son would return to the Encubus betrayal that wasn't ever really dealt with sufficiently. That's a good enough reason for me.
Dang, I still don't know what to think.

Not to mention it's not like he's been gone for ever... Its only been 3 sets, and there was no closure to speak of.... Think how many guys came back after being banished in the various Sudden Death tournaments... its about the same time.

I will be highly upset and letdown if Iron Hand is Thantos, Reynard B. Guile, Doomsayer, Vengeance, or any of the other territory we've already been down before. It would just seem like a step back to bring those guys up to the level of "main guy" after so many decades (game time). Especially considering how low a few of those guys have fallen in the past.
The game has such a new and exciting feel to it right now that it would just feel like a sort of stale re-hash if someone like Thantos or Vengeance rose up to be the main guy yet AGAIN. I say out with the old and in with the new.

I would agree with you on most of that... except for Thantos. He has clear unfinished business in the current GWF, and I think his send off was pretty lousy.

I agree with you....those other names listed, it would just be rehash. But Thantos did get a, to put it delicately, underwhelming exit. Plus his artwork has sucked since the Snelly one.....Thantos deserves better all around! With that said, I don't want Iron Hand to be Thantos. I'd rather he be somebody new, but connected in a compelling way to the GWF. That, or make it Janus the Overman and bring him back with a glorious return! |
