I think if it is someone new, they should have a clear reason for being there... there's enough factions now without a new player in the mix, IMO
I definately think Thantos' story needs an ending, whether he's Iron Hand or not... hopefully that will happen when the Mother Superior story line plays out.

But Thantos did get a, to put it delicately, underwhelming exit. Plus his artwork has sucked since the Snelly one.....Thantos deserves better all around! Isn't that ironic. Thantos was probably my favorite drawing from the original set, but since... If it was Thantos, just to have some killer art from Banks, would make it worth it.

I agree w Wildfire that Thantos needs a big ending and I'm pretty sure we'll see that. I also think however that the people who think Iron Hand is Thantos are setting themselves up to be disappointed.
As Mark said, Tom isn't real hot about bringing guys back. He's only done it twice and with Spike he has gone public that it was a mistake and wished he hadn't.
Sure, he's brought guys back in the story lines, but to think Thantos, a guy who was down graded over twenty years ago, is somehow the top guy in the fed now due to some Iron Man like costume, is kind of illogical.

Yeah, I just really hope the M.S. storyline plays out very cool. It still has high potential, despite the Oprah-like aspects of last year. Thantos maybe will make his return at that point.

I gotta disagree with you here.. there are lots of logical ways that already exist in the COTG universe to cover Thantos being Iron Hand and a main eventer again: 1) Transvolver... I know Tom said he wasn't gonna use it anymore, but he said Kill Prey and Swarm were leaving, too I like this the best, it shows Thantos' desperation and drive to not only get revenge, but to be at the top for as long as possible. It could even be the sorta thinh where maybe he CAN'T take off the mask, maybe it fuses to him in the process. Giving up his humanity to be a star again seems like it would have some fantastic story possibilities with the Mother Superior/Bloodline/Encubus angle. 2) The 'Tauran Process': It's a little quick, but it would work, and could give alot of the same possibilities. 3) "Iron Man": Could just be the suit, but I definately don't like this as much... I think something indicating personal sacrifice would be alot better story wise. 4) Not Quite Thantos: Could be another son, a clone, etc, with Thantos behind him... kinda fits the current GWF story, but not that thrilling, I think I'd prefer to to be Epoch-related than this. As long as there's SOME ending to Thantos' story, though, I'll be happy

I think it's safe to say that anything is possible/logical in the COTG universe. Is there a credible way to make a Thantos or similarly older character into a juggernaut? Definitely.
With that said, I still really hope it isn't him. Having him in the fed as a commissioner or interfering manager or some authority would be the best use of him at this point.
The revelation that the Tauran aging thing is an experiment does open up doors for future angles though, that's for sure.

I don't want Iron Hand to BE Thantos, but I would enjoy it if he had a CONNECTION to Thantos and is setting up MS and Encubus for a big screwjob in the end.

Consider, if you will . . . .
Morpheus - 6'3&1/2" tall / 283lbs
Star Warrior - 6'2&1/2" tall / 243lbs
Thantos - 6'3" tall / 255lbs
IRON HAND - 6'3" tall / 309lbs
If stats were all that was necessary to tell the tale, one of these guys could easily be Iron Hand. The extra weight could either be from age, armor or other technology.
My money's still on Thantos. As Iron Hand, he now controls the fate of his son, his most hated enemy's son and he still runs the villain camps and the fed. A full circle deal.
