Swarm's last post didn't seem to sink in, so let me repeat--MORPHEUS HAS BEEN DEAD FOR LIKE FIVE YEARS. Heart condition, room at the Deimos Media Center named for him, all that. In game-time I believe it happened a set or two after his stint as co-Commissioner. And he's even older than Thantos anyhow. That'd be a hell of a swerve, but one of the Vince Russo "gotcha!" variety rather than one that makes sense. I think people were just throwing it out Pete and ... well wasn't the story behind Destruction 3000 was he had the brain of a dead general implanted in him?! It couldn't happen with Morpheus?

It could be, and I admit I hadn't thought of the cyborg angle, but...
1.) If it is Morpheus, what personal motivation could he possibly have had? It's not like he could have been planning this back in 2113 or whenever it was he died, could it?
2.) If it was somebody else's idea, what does Morpheus have to gain by going along with it? Morpheus strikes me as a guy who'd prefer to rest in peace rather than be dug up a decade after the fact--as with Thantos, he wasn't a shadowy, deceptive guy: you know where he stood at all times.
If it's a name out of the distant past, a guy whose alley this would be up is...Darkos. Epoch, too. Or Saboteur, or Vengeance. These aren't suggestions or guesses, I'm just listing examples of the TYPE of character who would do this (or go along with this). I just don't think Morpheus or Thantos fit the bill.

I don't think it's Morpheus as well. I just saw the similarities with the tuxedos. Darkos would be interesting or Vengeance. Heck, maybe Doomsayer could do another brain transfer. While I'm sure they met or something in the handbook, one person who would really be interesting would have been Endgame himself.

I think Vengeance, who is angered at the "babyface" Gladiators and wants to restore a chaotic order. I don't know its just a shot in the dark.

If Iron Hand, 6'3" 309lbs, is Thantos, 6'3" 255lbs, come back for his final revenge then that's cool with me. I was the first to say Thantos should come back after getting into the Transolver but I also said Tristan should join the Greatest Show as a highflyer...
I'd rather he be Daimyo, 6'4" 289lbs, Dead Ringer, 6'4 300lbs, and or Gatekeeper ,6'4" 300lbs, because I, unlike a lot of others, like him and his story lines of messing with everyone. Maybe Ironhand, Daimyo, Dead Ringer, and or Gatekeeper will have a stipulation were you dont know who, or which card, you will be wrestling, using, against when you sign a match to fight him on a wrestling card. You will have to roll a dice to see which card you will use against the other wrestler or something like that...
I got my set yesterday so either way its very cool and lots fun!
KEEP THOSE DICE ROLLIN!

i think its guile being that they have the same cane. I think you're referring to the unused drawing that was shown in a previous thread here. Anyway, it was unused and I make no assumption that the unused artwork would have anything to do with the way the character turned out. Banks most likely was just asked to turn in a drawing of a guy in an iron mask and a tux and added the top hat and cane elements on his own based on the description. It's kind of a corny design too, by the way, with the idea of an "iron mask" being directly influenced by "The Man In The Iron Mask" as far as I can tell. And besides, Morpheus had that same cane, too. I think there's about the same chance that it's RBG as there is that it's Morpheus (who, as has been pointed out, died of old age and sickness about 8 years ago).

It wouldn't shock me to find out that Thantos is somehow involved...I mean, Iron Hand did manage to get under everyone's skin (heel/face) with no trouble at all...and who else, other than Thantos, has been able to do that...plus he was just so 'smooth' in the handbook...like he's been here (GWF) before.
