Hoping to get my set any day now too.
As far as the manual goes, I think the Iron Hand/Endgame main storyline is really good. I was thrilled to see Tom come up with something innovative and fresh (not rehashed like the Code Enforcer thing). Iron Hand immediately comes across as a true hated figure who will spawn all sorts of cool storylines for promoters. And Monolith is even more hate-worthy now too.
I suppose when you have a great main storyline, the rest of them don't -need- to be outstanding....but I think that's just it with the rest of the GWF. Nothing of tremendous note going on in the mid or under cards.
The Titans get a little bit of second wind thanks to the return of Payback and Nitro, for all my groaning about the concept beforehand, is definitely more interesting than Reckless.
Vidtek's openness about being a mole give his team some interest, though the 'Shooters still are sort of directionless for a team of their talent.
Nice to see a little bit of bolstering to the Greatest Show. Nosfera gives them an immediate upgrade. I'm not digging the overt likeness of Tricks to Heath Ledger's Joker, but the character does feel a little more compelling now. I really dig the Circus Strongmen, so I'm glad Gryt finally got tweaked (haven't seen his art yet)
The Resistance is one of the highlights to me. Kill Prey-Valour is a GREAT pairing. Wolf makes sense there. Sultana feels like she has some direction now.
Haven't seen his stats yet, but I'm digging the Patch idea. Good to get Valour out of there and a true nasty fellow replacing him.
I expected something more dramatic as far as Tauran's "problem", based on the teasers....but I'm hoping his story gets more interesting as he gets "younger" or whatever happens there.
Really dig the Sleeper Cell concept, and Endgame's blind eye to it. I always liked Endgame but he bordered on the bland -- not anymore. I love how his character has developed into the truth-telling guy who still manages to lose fan support (a la Chris Jericho). And he's not some boring shining paragon of virtue when he's willing to overlook Sleeper Cell's actions. Very cool.
Deadliest doesn't do anything for me, but if there's going to continue being a women's division, she at least gives it a little more depth.
Swarm looks outstanding, and I'm glad the perennial overachiever finally got a bump.
The Gladiators remain very stale to me. I've come to the conclusion I just don't like Paralyze and Rage and find them boring. Disaster is awesome. Strafe...meh. It feels like the Gladiators are just tacked into the main storyline because they are the Gladiators -- I hope there is some new blood coming in soon. I think part of the problem is that I never felt the Aethrans should be "faces", yet they are babyfaces now. These are conquerors, bullies and dictators.
That's my take just on the manual and having seen all of the artwork except Gryt. All around, I'm very excited about the set and looking forward to re-starting my GWF fed at long last.

Tom suggested that the Gladiators are going to be a main focus in 2124 at the Con. They've been quiet way too long.

Tom suggested that the Gladiators are going to be a main focus in 2124 at the Con. They've been quiet way too long. That'd be cool. One has to wonder how long Disaster will headline them. I hope he sticks around, because he's one of my all-time most successful wrestlers....but he's been at it a LONG time. I'd be happiest if Paralyze got the ax. He's boring. Rage initially was a fresh approach to the Gladiators, and I'm hoping an upgrade spruces him up and gives him new direction. Otherwise, ship him over to POW and let him MMA My wish list for next year: 1) Make the Gladiators ruthless villains again 2) Keep Disaster around a bit longer 3) Dump Paralyze entirely 4) Upgrade Rage and keep playing off his MMA/fighter style; maybe upgrade him to emerging singles star 5) Get a fresh new Aethran tag-team in

I think it might be time for Disaster to get a dowgrade, and lead the next great Glad tag Team.
Agree 100% Rage should go to POW.
Paralyze I likem but his downgrade makes him tough to use, IMO.. he's stats don't back up the personality, IMO.

I think Paralyze sort of got the shaft in efforts to make Monolith the over-the-top dominant wrestler he is.

I agree with Aq and wildfire on the Glads...the team should be an absolute force in the new "Martial Law" era and one cool way for Tom to do it would be to move Disaster into the tag role (to help lead a dominant Glad tag team) and intro a new up-and-coming singles star.
See I REALLY liked Paralyze 2119...the new one? Not so much. And Rage?...meh.
Havoc should get involved somehow...not necessarily team up with those guys, but his "anti-Aethran establishment" mindset could be a useful tool in mixing up the Glad presence in the GWF.
Just my two cents...

Just my two cents... Good point about Havoc -- I failed to mention that. He is the most interesting Aethran in the game right now. Maybe he'll resort to getting another Aethran defector or two. Or maybe try to make a power play to lead a new brand of Gladiators in the GWF. Lots of directions to go -- and I know Tom loves the Gladiators, so hopefully next year will start something ground-breaking.

Agree 100% Rage should go to POW. If his release can be negotiated, I'll be happy to break my self-imposed rule of no Aethrans in the POW.
