Felix Hernandez just threw the first perfect game in Mariners history by defeating Tamp Bay 1-0! And this was also the 4th complete game shutout for King Felix (who has not lost in over 2 months) since June 28th. Safeco Field today also became the first ballpark since 1917 to host 3 no hitters in the same season. After I heard King Felix was perfect through 7, I turned the game on (it was being shown on the MLB network) and really enjoyed watching the end of it. There really has not been much to get excited about for Ms fans for the past 9 years, so today was awesome.  |

and King Felix yesterday agreed to a record setting deal to stay in Seattle through 2019!
Hell yeah! My favorite pitcher will continue to be a Mariner!

an elbow issue is holding up this deal
I wouldn't be surprised if there is an injury protection clause added to the contract like the Yankees have with CC Sabathia.

Do I sound bitter? Well, being a Mets fan will do that to you I'm right there with you cruefan. Sometimes I feel my hatred for the Yankees is on par with my Mets fandom, probably more so these past few years with the miserable Mets teams. |

Sometimes I feel my hatred for the Yankees is on par with my Mets fandom, probably more so these past few years with the miserable Mets teams. Yes, TM, the last few years have been very painful for us Mets fans. Believe it or not I am looking forward to the 2013 season if only to see how the team fares with some new names. I hope that Seattle can get this deal done as they really need King Felix to stay on long term much like the Mets needed to bring back David Wright. Before the Mets resigned DW I heard a lot of Yankee fan friends talking about how great he would look in pinstripes in 2014 so yeah you can see why I can't stand that team as they usually get what they want. So yes, Seattle, get that deal done ASAP ;D |
