On the heels (pun intended) of the discussion of the 50 greatest heels in wrestling history (on the WWE section), I began to put some thought into the most iconic heel moments in the past 30 years. Here's my top 10:
1. Roddy Piper smashes Jimmy Snuka with a coconut. 2. Pretty much any 4 Horseman run-in to save Flair's World title. 3. Ted DiBiase kicks the basketball away from the little boy dribbling. 4. Kevin Nash hurls Rey Mysterio face-first against the trailer (NWO invasion). 5. Jake the Snake Roberts slaps Miss Elizabeth. 6. Shawn Michaels superkicks Marty Jannetty through the window of the Barber shop. 7. Vince screws Bret (or did Bret screw Bret?) 8. Tully Blanchard slaps Baby Doll. 9. Brian Pillman walks out on match with Kevin Sullivan ("I respect you, booker man!") 10. Iron Sheik attacks Bob Backlund with the Persian Club.
Other suggestions?

somebody mentioned it on another thread, but Savage crushing Steamboat's larynx with the timekeeper's bell would make my list

How about Brock Lesnar tossing one-legged Zack Gowen down the stairs. At least I think it was Brock but my memory is foggy sometimes lol. The Nexus debut would have to be up there as well. From your list daytondave I would say #1, #4, and #6 are my favorites.

For my money … I will never forget those two moments.

There are so many. A few of my favorite iconic heel moments that weren't mentioned: Larry Zbyszko attacks his mentor Bruno Sammartino with a chair during an exhibition match (WWWF circa '80, set up a big Shea Stadium main event) Ole Anderson turns on his partner Dusty Rhodes inside a cage filled with Dusty's enemies (an angle a year in the making, Georgia circa July '80) Terry Gordy slams the cage door into Kerry Von Erich's head on Xmas Night '82 (World Class, birth of the famous Von Erich/Freebird feud) www.dailymotion.com/video/xpgnb_flair-vs-kerry-pt-2_sportAfter weeks of build up, Paul Orndorff turns on partner Hulk Hogan in a tag match (WWF circa June '86, set up a monster program for the WWF World title) Andre The Giant rips off Hulk Hogan's crucifix neck chain on Piper's Pit (circa Feb. '87, set up the Wrestlemania 3 main event)

yeah, I'd have trouble picking 10, but yes, the Freebirds turning on the Von Erichs would have to be in my top 3.

Here are a few I remember:
1. Ron Bass carving up Brutus Beefcake with his spurs. 2. Raven manipulating Sandman's son to turn on him. 3. Jake Robert's snake biting Randy Savage. I cannot believe they showed that on a Saturday morning show. 4. The abduction of Stephanie McMahon by the Undertaker. 5. Road Warriors turning on Dusty Rhodes. 6. Terry Funk piledriving Ric Flair on the table. 7. McMahon making Jim Ross kiss his ass. 8. Kane lighting Jim Ross on fire. 9. Undertaking locking the Ultimate Warrior in the casket. 10. Randy Orton RKOing Fabulous Moolah.

Some that stick out for me that haven't been mentioned yet:
- Bad News Allen befriending his longtime Stampede rival Archie "The Stomper" Gouldie (The Mongolian Stomper elsewhere) and forming a 6-man team with Archie and Archie's "son" Jeff, who was making his pro debut. Then piledriving Jeff on the concrete floor and ending his career. Gouldie's promo afterward might legitimately be the greatest babyface promo of all-time.
- Vader assaulting Gorilla Monsoon.
- Vader and Ric Flair destroying Dave Sullivan as he tried to aid a job guy that Vader was beating down after a match. The beating gets so bad that Bobby Heenan "breaks character" and runs in from the booth to pull Flair off. A masterful angle from a real bad period in WCW.
- The rare occasions when Bobby Heenan was allowed to be an evil sociopath instead of the usual comedic buffoon. There was the time he burned Tommy Rich with a lit cigar in Georgia, and kind of a weird one to stick with me, but...a week after the in-ring debate that ended with Ken Patera snapping his neck with a belt, the entire Heenan Family (minus Andre) came down and surrounded the ring during a Patera squash, then jumped in for the mass beatdown. Mass beatdowns aren't anything new but there was a real "oh, SHIT" build as the heels slowly cut off all of Patera's exits before striking.
- Dusty Rhodes, the Four Horsemen, and a parking lot. Best touch: the cameraman trying to run off to get help and being physically restrained by J.J. and forced to keep shooting.
