Special thanx to the fantastic artwork of isysephex, he hit another one out of the park with this!!
Here is the "forgotten" Anderson, Lars. Original member of the Minnesota Wrecking Crew with Gene and occasional "fill-in" as the situation required. This card is primarily representative of his singles runs, though his strong defensive tag side should allow for an easy mix with any of the other Anderson clan. Any suggestions or obvious "oopses" please feel free to let me know. This was based off of 1 match from his time in HI, a handful of clips and pieces of some early work with Gene and 7 or 8 later career matches. Also a LOT of reading up and searching through old clippings, etc.

Lars is one of those wrestlers whose work tends to get lost due to a lack of readily available footage. He was very successful in a variety of tag roles throughout the 70s. From what little I've seen, he was also a sharp promo man!

I definitely like Lars even if I don't know much about him other than being Gene's original tag partner who later feuded with Ole and Gene.

Thanx for the kind words, I have always preferred to work on guys and girls that are less likely to get noticed or remembered. A LOT of great legends out there that have been forgotten or overlooked. I have been very very fortunate and blessed to have the opportunity to work with several fantastic artists in the past and have recently been blessed to add isysephex to that list. It has been wonderful to find a great artist who also appreciates the lesser known heroes of the sport and put out some cards that haven't been done before.
I am sitting on close to 300 bootlegs that I have done or worked closely with others on, and am always thrilled to find someone with the ability to draw (as i have NO artistic ability at all) who can help bring them to life for others' enjoyment.
Also, if anyone can find a verified finisher that Lars and Gene used, please let me know as footage of them together is rare and even news clippings and such seldom refer to any specific moves (aside from the , IMO, overused "illegal double teaming tactics" and the like).

Great job........I pride myself a student of the sport.....and love the obscure and forgotten legends.......I look forward to whomever you bring to life next.....
I, too suffer from being unable to draw........i completely enjoy the art work that brings a legend to life....

inquisator, I agree on the art, I have so many "currently inactive" bootlegs simply due to not yet having artwork for them. I very few that I just "can't live without" I have found pics and made them b/w and then used different programs to kind of make them look drawn, but I have no good talent even with that, so I use it just for a very small group, lol

Today in the mail I got the book "Minnesota's Golden Age of Wrestling: from Vern Gagne to the Road Warriors" which covers Minnesota wrestling from 1954-1990.
Since in the back of the book they are ranked as one of the greatest AWA tag teams, the Andersons have a few pages devoted to them in this book. In that section, addition to his tag team experience with Gene and Ole, Lars teaming up with Larry Hennig is also mentioned a little.
