Not sure where to even start with this thing. How can a guy who bankrupt his own company be no.1? HHH should be higher considering he managed to marry the bosses daughter and getting a spot much higher than he ever deserved. Mick Foley? I call him one of the dumbest guys ever to be honest. Thew himself around like a crash test dummy for a living, destroyed his brain cells doing it, and lost a ton of cred when he proved he wasn't a man of his word by retiring and staying away. WWE acts like Mick Foley is the only person to ever write a book. That makes his smart? If he was so smart he'd be retired with his millions and his family by now, not begging for work in TNA, cameo spots in WWE, and doing stand up comedy for peanuts.
Where is the Ultimate Warrior? I'd put him at no.1. Never kissed anyone's ass, made a ton of money on his own terms, didn't have a long career that destroyed his body, never got into any of the crazy drugs everyone else seemed to get into, marketed himself without the machine, and is still a beast in his 50's living the good life on top of all of his money with his family. That certainly deserves more credit than some failed businessman, some stunt man with brain damage and half the other guys on this list.
As much as I'm not a fan, Kevin Nash should be in the top 3-5 too. He wasn't a draw in the WWF, but managed to rape Ted Turner for more money than he was ever worth, and basically never really worked hard for it. Scott Hall too.

I kind of agree about the Warrior. He's a guy that understands his value and doesn't settle for less. Lex Luger was the same way, he always got the most out of contract negotiations and knew his monetary value.

Paul Heyman: brilliant wrestling mind, horrible business mind.
Mick Foley: not really a "smart guy", but smart enough to know that the only way he was ever going to make money in wrestling was by being a "stunt man". He also accidentally found out he has a great knack for writing compelling stories. Tietam Brown is an unheralded gem, IMO. I must admit I'm not his biggest fan overall, though.
Matt Striker is probably the most objectionable name in the top five, in my opinion. He was a teacher; so what? So are lots of ignoramuses. He can use big words. So can lots of other.....well, you see my point.

Relax, dudes... it's a work! To be serious for a moment, Otunga's Harvard law degree should immediately move him to the top of the list. (Sorry, Hunter.) JBL is a reputable financial analyst which would put him near the top. (Sorry again, Hunter.)
Christopher Nowinski would certainly belong somewhere in the top. George "The Animal" Steele held a Masters' Degree in English and was a full-time teacher who wrestled only during summers. His advanced degree would put him ahead of Stryker, McCool and "Dean" Douglas (although I remember rumors back in the day that Troy Martin, aka Shane Douglas, was considering a medical career).
But of course, the real genius who belongs at the top of this list would be Vince himself. Regardless of how you might feel about VKM, he has single-handedly built a billion-dollar wrestling empire.

No love for the "The Genius" Lanny Poffo? As far as Mick Foley and his writing career goes, I think Foley should be credited for being #1 NY Times best seller on an autobiography he wrote without a ghost writer. After he wrote his book, a lot of other wrestlers wrote books which went on the become best sellers. With that being said, I don't know if that makes him smarter, but it certainly makes him more creative and perhaps more of a pioneer. Oh yeah, and the list in general is bullshit!

I'm not overly impressed with degrees. Does a Harvard law degree make someone smart? No, it means they were a great receptacle for the stuff someone else made them sit and get filled with. All a college degree, Ivy league or otherwise, means is that someone proved themselves capable of great memorization and specialization in a given field. I know lots of people with various degrees, and the odds of them being of superior intellect to those without aren't in their favor. Would you like proof? Look at all of those impressive degrees from high profile schools going to waste on perfect doofuses in Washington.
Also, how come every time we get involved in one of these discussion, someone always finds it necessary to tell people it's not serious, and to "relax"? Is anyone busting a vessel over this? I'm not; I thinks it's fun.

I'm not; I thinks it's fun. To sum up what M T means (at least what I believe he's getting at) is there's two kinds of smarts here. Book Smart which means someone has a great knack for picking up on things and gets good marks in school, ie: getting straight "A's" with a 4.0 GPA their whole academic career. And there's Street Smart, which means you know things without having to pick up a book, study and work hard for an academic scholarship! I've known plenty of folks who were book smart, but had no common sense about things outside the academic world. Some of which were complete airheads, but got good grades. On the flip side, I knew plenty of others that never got good grades in school, poor study habits, but had full understanding of what it takes to make it out in the real world. Having knowledge of various facts and basic principles of life. To myself, someone who has street smarts are just as well rounded and at times become more fulfilled in life and do not seem to be considered "less intelligent" to the average joe in today's society. However, I'm not one to shun a good education and know that without one, you are most likely less to succeed financially without that foundation! It's more of a stereotype to say that someone who doesn't have a degree of some sort is less intelligent than one who does. back on topic, really believe Heenan should have been #1!

Another one worth mentioning would be Trish Stratus. She had a successful career and after being injured was smart enough to know when it was time to retire. She left the WWE as the champion and without any controversy (as far as I know) and went on to do televison, charity work and an occasional appearence on RAW. She's done well for herself especially for someone who started out as fitness model.
