I'm not overly impressed with degrees. Does a Harvard law degree make someone smart? No, it means they were a great receptacle for the stuff someone else made them sit and get filled with. This is awfully debatable, but instead of opening this gigantic can of worms that will surely end with an "agree to disagree" truce after 100 posts, I'll say I agree that a degree does not always make someone any more smart than someone who proved a capable of surviving the streets. But what about people who've done both? There are millions of stories of kids who escape poverty, go to college and make something of their lives.
I'll say it's not so much the degree that makes someone smart, but what they do with it. Is a surgeon smart? Is he smart when he/she graduates with their degree, or only after they've successfully performed surgery in real-life? I could use this example with tons of high paying careers that require tons of schooling. Beyond that, there is imo several varieties of intelligence. I work with clients who own 4 million dollar homes in CA, but the home is 1200 square feet. In MI, you can get a 1200 square foot home for like 150k, and not have to worry about dying in an earthquake (seems like a no brainer, right?). You can get a 3700 square foot home for like 250k-300k. So who's smarter there? The dude with maybe more $$$ to burn who pays 1.7 million more for 2500 less living space, or the guy with maybe less $$$ to burn who pays 1.7 million less for 2500 more? This is again, just one of many examples I can use.
I like to think the happiest people in life are the smartest. After all, you can't take it with you when you're dead, and the true measure of a man is his happiness. If you can find someone who lives a happy, full-filling, stress free life, then imo you found a smart son of a bitch. Another reason I chose Warrior to be no.1. He seems awfully happy, and awfully content with his life, whereas a lot of ex-wrestlers seemingly retire/die unhappy, sometimes on drugs (and/or they go to TNA) , apparently looking to fill some vacant void in their life they cannot fill without that massive spotlight.
