Getting back in the game, what is GWFZT? I'd just like a rundown, some basics, and an idea of what I need to get started.

GWFZ started as a feeder fed for the GWF. when territories came out, it became its own set of feds like old school NWA.
You'll definitely need territories. as for the other cards, talk to Swarm and he'll let you know.

What is "Territories"? Is that a set or a handbook? I can't find any info on the FG catalog

I think tournamentmaster is actually the one to talk to because I think he is the one who handles payment. GWFZT is basically the last installment of the Promoter Madness series that was done unofficially but with Tom's blessing.

Todd (Tournament Master) can hook you up with any and all GWFZ stuff. GWFZ was born as a developmental fed to the GWF, and it spawned off into a whole galaxy of it's own, with tons of unique territories spread all over the cosmos. Territories comes with 132 new cards. It was the biggest fan collaborated project ever. Before that there was Promoter Madness 1,2,3, GWFZ Bash, GWFZ InvaZion and Pre-Order Madness.

I was just told recently that GWFZT is currently out of print, but if there is enough interest it might be reprinted. I would certainly purchase a set.

Still have copies of GWFZ InvaZion and Pre Order Madness, for $12 each. Also the SE card bundle for $6 that includes the likes of Moral Majority, Umagapotamus, St. Bernard, Torn, Torrent and Clutch. GWFZ Territories is out of print, but I may reprint it if there is some interest. The cost will depend on how much it costs to reprint the cards.
