I was privileged to play as Iron Hand vs. Nitro G in GALACTICON's first ever "FIGHT THE POWER" match.
During his Q&A session & had asked him if he would be willing to challenge the Commissioner Iron Hand in a "Fight the Power" match. Nitro replied that he didn't know what a Fight the Power match was but he would take the challenge.
Once the Q&A was over I went over and asked Darren if he was serious about playing the match & he said that he was excited to play. So off we went to an adjacent room where I explained the basics of the game. Kris Osk followed along & soon the room began to fill up.
I promised Darren that I would share this write up with him when I got it finished. So I wanted to share it with everyone here as well because it was such a GALACTICON moment that I will never forget.
This match will open my GALACTICON SUPERCARD, the first card of 2123 in my Fed. Here is the match as it will appear in my Fed:
Iron Hand: “Martial Law has arrived. There is one rule in this Federation & that rule is going to flex some muscle this year. I am introducing a new “Fight the Power” match where a wrestler foolish enough to challenge me can wrestle me one-on-one in the ring. It will be the best man wins.”
(The crowd again roars to life at this exciting announcement)
Iron Hand: “In honor of tonight I have decided to do something I wouldn’t normally do. An example needs to be made to this Federation so I would like the newest Titan to join me here in the ring. We will begin 2123 with the first ever “Fight the Power” match with Nitro!”
(Nitro appears at the top of the ramp & shoots a huge burst of energy from his hands into the air. It explodes in a dazzling flash that brings the crowd alive with cheers. Nitro moves down the ramp, taking the time to high five both sides of the aisle on his way & then proceeds around the entire ring before joining Iron Hand in the ring. Iron Hand offers his hand to shake & Nitro shakes it vigorously, a huge smile on his face. Nitro takes another moment to wave to the crowd as he makes his way over to the turnbuckle as the bell sounds to begin the match)
FIGHT THE POWER MATCH
IRON HAND defeated NITRO(2)
- Nitro charged right across the ring to tie up with Iron Hand but the Commissioner had other plans & scooped him up for a big power slam followed immediately by Rule with an Iron Hand for a nearfall. Iron Hand threw back his head & screamed: “I RUN THIS FED” as he pulled Nitro into the bear hug & smashed him with repeated head butts.
(Iron Hand called for a mic & bent down to get into the face of the young Titan)
Iron Hand: “Come on boy that was pathetic! Get up!”
(Iron Hand drags Nitro back to his feet. Somehow he manages to stand on his own. Iron Hand pulls his head up by the hair & gets right in his face)
Iron Hand: “The last 5 words you will hear in this life: 2 OUT OF 3 FALLS!”
(The crowd roars their approval of Iron Hand’s management style. Iron Hand tosses the mic back to ringside & shoves Nitro back into the corner. The ref called for the bell to open the second fall)
NITRO(5) defeated IRON HAND(1)
- Nitro laid in the corner as Iron Hand charged across the ring & attempted a one-arm clothesline but Nitro wasn’t there when he crashed into the turnbuckle & crushed him from behind with a Kinetic Super Kick & followed with a Frantic Attack. Iron Hand scrambled back to his feet but Nitro came right at him with an Electromagnetic Kick & absolutely nailed BAD VIBRATIONS for a nearfall. Iron Hand had had enough & reversed Nitro into Outlaws Undone followed by a Full Metal Slam for a nearfall. “I RUN THIS FED” and NITRO KICKED OUT!! Iron Hand seemed totally shocked & hit The End is Near followed by Rule with an Iron Fist. The crowd’s energy seemed to flow into Nitro & as Iron Hand came forward to finish him he hit Gravitational Pull & pulled out the second fall with BAD VIBRATIONS.
(The crowd responded to the monumental event & blew the roof off the arena. Every fan was on their feet & roaring for the rookie Titan in his first ever match. The fan’s energy seemed to further bolster the depleted reserves of Nitro as he withdrew back into the corner & awaited his opponent to stand for the next fall. Iron Hand slowly pushed himself back to his feet & dusted off his tuxedo. He smiled over at Nitro & bowed his head toward him in a gesture of respect. The ref called for the bell to begin the 3rd & final fall & nobody in the arena was in their seat & the noise was deafening. Tristan, Alpha Force & Payback, the entire Titan team came down to ringside to support Nitro)
NITRO(7) defeated IRON HAND(3)
- Iron Hand was cautious to open the 3rd fall & locked on a grueling headlock followed by Crusaders Crushed & Martial Law. Nitro was rocked but managed to reverse Iron Hand into the ropes but went down under a vicious shoulder tackle. Martial Law again & things started to look bleak for the young Titan. A bulldog head ram from Iron Hand & the crowd got behind Nitro again as he re-took control & hit an Adrenaline Blast that drove Iron Hand back & another Kinetic Super Kick. Nitro tried BAD VIBRATIONS but MISSED! Rapelling Punch kept Iron Hand back & Nitro went for BAD VIBRATIONS once again…but MISSED AGAIN!! Iron Hand was quicker this time & blocked Nitro’s elbow smash & went for a full nelson. Nitro was too quick for that & hit another Frantic Attack & went for BAD VIBRATIONS again & MISSED ONCE MORE!!! Three times Nitro had tried. Undaunted, Nitro fought on & hit an Electromagnetic Kick & as Iron Hand came forward tried one last time for BAD VIBRATIONS and HIT IT!! 1…2…3…NITRO WINS!! NITRO WINS!! NITRO WINS!!
(It took only moments for the crowd to realize the magnitude of what just happened & then they responded with the loudest roar any superstar had ever received in an IWF arena. Tristan was the first into the ring for a double high-five with Nitro. Payback & Alpha Force picked up the young Titan on their shoulders & carried him all the way up the ramp & into the back. The atmosphere was absolutely deafening as the crowd was going absolutely crazy! Iron Hand slowly rose to feet once more & dusted himself off as he watched the victory procession slowly make their way into the back. When they finally disappeared he silently shook his head & followed them up the ramp & into the back)

I want to take a moment to say thank you to Darren (Nitro G) for taking the challenge. He picked up the game incredibly fast & was genuinely excited with every roll of the dice. When he won, he couldn't believe it & double high-fived me. The place really did errupt with cheering. Everyone in the other room knew immediately what had happened. Darren, you are class act guy, one of the nicest people I have met. I will never forget this match against you.
P.S. Yes, you kicked Iron Hand's ass!!
