Glad to see Giant Bernard getting a card released (although I really sort of wish he had his card released previously so I could have got my copy of it singed when I met Tensai back in August at Summerslam Axxess.)
In my LOW fed Major League Wrestling, I think I am going to make Giant Bernard a protege of his real life trainer Killer Kowalski.

In my LOW fed Major League Wrestling, I think I am going to make Giant Bernard a protege of his real life trainer Killer Kowalski. I've got plenty of time to think about this but I think i want to bring him in as a bodyguard/partner for someone like I did with Kurrgan (bodyguard to Eddie Gilbert). My initial thought is to reform X-Factor with Justin Credible, it would give Justin something to do for a while. This could all change depending who the other 11 names will be. if this is the way I go, hopefully he fares better than Kurrgan who keeps getting injured in matches with Andre the Giant.

I was going to reintroduce Kurrgan as an unstoppable monster for Jimmy Hart but Giant Bernard will be better suited for that. Great timing for me.

yeah I agree with pikemojo...while color is good for the sets, I'll always prefer B and W for LOW. Agree with all above...Keep LOW B&W

yeah I agree with pikemojo...while color is good for the sets, I'll always prefer B and W for LOW. Agree with all above...Keep LOW B&W I don't play LOW have come to the conclusion I probably never will, what with CHIKARA, ROH, GWFZ and GWF. So this is as third party, no dogs involved in the fight argument you will get from me on this. I've spent the majority of my time as a FG fan trying to find way to defend most things put out. Looking back, I'm surprised I never saw the glaring problem with FG cards being in black and white. Like probably everyone else, the first time I ever opened a COTG envelope, the very first thought that went through my head was "where's the color?" I remember thinking maybe I got some kind of defected game set they forgot to send through the color printer. But again, like everyone else I fell in love with the game and never again thought twice about the black and white cards. Meanwhile, no other game on the planet based heavily around art, is put out without color (that I know of). If there was one problem the game always presented when trying to hook new people, it was the lack of colors (on the flip side, the colors seem to now attract attention). I would get these quizzical looks from my friends, and I found myself feeling kind of stupid trying to sell to them why black and white was "better because you can use your imagination." I'd imagine one of the the top road blocks all these years getting FG games "out there" was the lack of color. So I don't have a vote on what LOW should or shouldn't be. I have no stake in it's future as a fan or creator. But I think most marketing pros would tell us that the game is not a better game without color. With LOW specifically, actual photos would work best imo.

Since LOW is a retro-type fed, if any were to remain B&W, it may be the LOW. One of my main reasons for liking B&W is that as "a man of a certain age"...the colored back of the cards can be difficult for me to read.

Swarm, I definitely know where you are coming from, and I am sure that color cards would look great with LOW, just as they do for the other feds that have been recently released. It is probably as much "what I am used to" as anything. But I would absolutely be against changing the cards to actual photos as opposed to artwork. The art is one of my favorite things about any FG product. (I used to be a big COTG player, but since LOW came out that is all I have been playing) Even with the more realistic drawings needed for LOW over the sci-fi of COTG, there is just something great about how the different artists' style comes out in the way the wrestlers are portrayed. One possible solution that would keep all most people happy, is to release future LOW sets (as well as re-releasing past sets) as color cards, but offer a b/w PDF option for those who would prefer it.

Black and white cards in 2012 are a tough sell; they really were in 2002, and they were getting kind of old looking in 1992 to be honest. Those of us who got hooked on the game when it looked a certain way are used to them, but it just doesn't appeal to new buyers. I suspect some people are just kind of OCD in needing everything to be uniform and don't want to switch for that reason. Others may be resistant to change of any kind. However, times change and products change. Daily newspapers and Filsinger Legends cards may be the only black and white holdovers in the print world.
I will gladly state my opposition to photos being used for legends, and I'll do so for one very important, practical reason: quality photos are practically IMPOSSIBLE to obtain for certain wrestlers. They just simply do not exist for a lot of guys who had their peak before 1980. It would be a major detractor to use a poorly lit, grainy photo for a card front; worse than a black and white drawing as far as I'm concerned.
PS:As an aside, to kind of back up what luke wrote above, I think the pdf releases should still be available with the option to print in black and white for those who prefer to print them up on home printers.

I actually completely understand that argument, Swarm. Not the photo part of it though. But I completely understand that many new fans would have a negative view of the B&W cards. I will say that I was never a COTG fan and only joined the LOW crowd in 2003 and never thought that they should be in color. Maybe I am just weird though.
Oh, and I am definitely weirdly OCD about not using color cards with the B&W cards. Don't know why.
I would never stop buying LOW if it went all color though.
I do have a feeling that the price of all color sets would be a detractor for some potential new fans. I remember when I first bought the first set for $19 I felt like it was a good deal and even if I didn't like the game I was only out $20. Now if that same 24 card set was $35, I am not sure I would have ever placed that first order.

I think for LOW the B&W is better because of the nostalgia concept.
But if you want to talk about "dated", don't you think the idea of rolling dice and playing with cards is sort of outdated? Like I've said before I only play online. In the age of app games, I think the future of Filsinger games relies on the success of online play.
