NFL: Referees incorrectly awarded Carolina's DeAngelo Williams TD on Sunday
There was a controversial play in the Redskins-Panthers game on Sunday that resulted in a very rare DeAngelo Williams touchdown run, when the Panthers back scampered 30 yards to the end zone.
A referee blew an inadvertent whistle during Williams run, and the play was called back. But after conferencing, the referees awarded Williams the touchdown. According to the NFL, the corrected ruling was wrong and the Panthers should not have been given a touchdown.
"In Sunday's game between the Carolina Panthers and Washington Redskins, the Panthers were incorrectly awarded a touchdown following an inadvertent whistle," an NFL spokeperson said in a statement.

Gee how could something like this have happened? I thought we fixed the ref issues in the NFL after this same exact thing happened to the Packers? Remember all that? That was real, right? Wasn't just zombie media bullshit, right? Good news is I'm sure the Redskins stormed off the field in protest and headed right to their twitter accounts to spew venom at the refs, right? I was really under the impression the good people of the NFL union had gotten rid of all the bad refs and put the good ones back. Or was that whole thing more union garbage? Wow I'm so confused?
I guess I'm too stupid to figure it out without the media telling me how it is, so I guess I'll just wait for the massive backlash. It's got to be coming, right? Man, I bet the media totally freaks out over this! I bet it's all over ESPN all day long.
Right?
