I am glad to see Jerry The King Lawler coming back to Raw tonite. Having open heart surgery alittle over a year ago myself I kinda know what he needed to do to recover from his heart attack. With all the deaths of wrestlers the last couple years its nice to see one that has stayed with us.

Yeah.... i actually thought the whole angle with Punk was in poor taste. I mean if lawler had another heart attack and died...just going a little far to kid about.

The showing of the heart massages and defribillators was kind of sick. Did any of us really fing need to see that? Actually the whole idea of cameras being there to film it was rather distasteful.
That said, I have no problems whatsoever with the Punk angle. Actually if Jerry Jarrett or Eddie Marlin had suffered a heart attack in the '80s or '90s, you KNOW Lawler's second reaction--maybe even his first--would have been "How can we make some money off of this?" This is a guy who's used his own deceased parents for promo fodder for his heel opponents. Lawler would probably find it more offensive if they DIDN'T use it for an angle.
One of the biggest complaints people have about modern WWE is how watered-down and homogenized and "safe" it all is. Well, now we get a major heel actually ACTING like a heel and people everywhere are lamenting how "tasteless" it all is. This isn't an "Eddie's in hell" situation--it really should be up to Lawler and Lawler alone to determine how offended he should be by having Punk make fun of him.

My guess is Vince told them to film it just in case Lawler died and he wanted to cover his hide in case of any lawsuits. I thought it was a little disturbing but not enough to make me change the channel.

When I first seen the whole cm punk thing I was totally offended just because of my surgery and the problems I am still having today. Then it hit me the King most likely agreed to the storyline and the exploitation of his heart attack. While I disagree with his decision and find it tasteless it is his choice to decide what to do. It does not change my opinion of the King as a wrestler and his impact on this sport.

While Lawler wrestled earlier in the night, there was no isolated, unnecessary stunt that caused Lawler's Heart Attack. Owen on the other hand, IIRC, did a stunt that he didn't even want to do, and it was the direct cause of his death.

I wasn't offended by it, but I did think it was lazy writing. If Jerry Lawler was a wrestler, and he could actually wrestle Punk, beat him and take the title, exacting revenge for Punk's actions, then I think it would have been great. But he can't. Just another wrestler/non-wrestler waste of time like basically every angle Lawler is ever in. I didn't find it edgy. I found it obvious and boring.
