I liked him better as Johnny Curtis. Oh, yeah--I'm not trying to knock the guy as a wrestler. Not at all. And if he's got the talent to make it to the main roster, in any capacity, God bless him. I'm not even knocking the use of gimmicks, because maybe the wrestling world needs more gimmicks. But if you're going to give a guy a gimmick, in this day and age... A tango dancer? Anyone remember the wrestling magician who was on Superstars a couple times, then made himself disappear? And that was in the 80's.

Are going back to the 80's? Well apparently they want to increase their hotdog sales.

I think Vince likes the gimmicks that the male demographic will instantly hate. It worked for Shawn Michaels, but he just happened to be one of the best pro wrestlers. As far as going back to the 80s, I've noticed that a lot lately. I'm just waiting for steroids and face paint to come back.

Man, you're in the wrong decade. Stuff like this Fandango character is straight '90-'95 WWF. That's the period that spawned stuff like TL Hopper, The Goon, Friar Furgeson, and the like. The 80s were colorful, but I challenge you to find more than a couple of strictly "character" types in the WWF.
