A few hours ago I watched the WWE "Legends" show on-demand. It was Mean Gene, J.R., Michael Hayes, Pat Patterson (these 4 are on nearly every Legends episode) and Brian Armstrong (Road Dogg) discussing the history of RAW.
As you can imagine, most of the show was spent on the Attitude era. Great show which made me long for the days of yesteryear.
So, that ended around 9 PM and I told my wife, "Well, let's see what's happening on SD even though I guarantee we'll see Sheamus within 5 minutes."
Lo and behold, there's Sheamus arguing with Booker T. Sigh...
Today's WWE is just the shits. Within the final hour, I saw Miz, Cody Rhodes, Sandow, Barrett, Orton, and Del Rio. All these guys just overlap with their characters. So bland and boring.
It's just sad.

Yeah, but I remember being bored back in the attitude era a lot. I remember every episode started out with Austin and McMahon, or Foley and McMahon, or Rock and McMahon. I'd flip over to WCW and it would be nWo, then Goldberg was great for a while. I think that era looks great in my memory, but it was very redundant. I actually stopped watching for a while when three WWF PPVs in a row were Foley/Rock in the main event. I'm not saying the stuff now is perfect, but there's good and bad. There are some really good matches on Raw and Smackdown these days, even Main Event has had some good matches. Just remember, in the Attitude era we had Austin and the Rock, but we also had guys like Val Venis, Marc Mero, Disco Inferno, the Headbangers, ICP's stable, and probably more that I've blocked out of my memory.

I think the Attitude Era is way overrated, but then I never really cared for Austin vs. McMahon. There were stars and matches in that Era that I liked, but I was a bigger fan of WCW at the time.

I should say I like a lot of the guys you are down on. I like Sheamus, I've never been down on Orton, I like Del Rio, I'm starting to like Sandow. I used to like Miz but he's slipped, and Cody still needs a break out moment (I think he should have stayed masked).
I love Punk, and I also really like Ziggler. Daniel Bryan has made gold of his tag team with Kane. I think Big Show's been the best he's ever been in WWE in the last year. And Heyman has been gold.
All that said, I kind of agree with you. Last night's Raw was boring. They are in a holding pattern. Cena/AJ storyline is terrible. I don't find Rybak or the Shield interesting. I feel they have good talent in place and are doing nothing with most of them. We probably won't get a big shake up still they are done with Rock at Mania.
