It has been announced that the next PWG show (December 1st) will be Joey Ryan's last appearance.
Joey Ryan was a huge part of of PWG:
- Other than referee Rick Knox and El Generico, nobody has appeared on more PWG shows than Joey Ryan.
- Joey Ryan won the 2010 Battle of Los Angeles (BOLA) by defeating Chuck Taylor (in the first round,) Austin Aries (in the Quarter-Finals,) Claudio Castagnoli (in the Semi-Finals.) and Chris Hero (in the Finals.)
- Joey Ryan also has the 2nd longest reign as PWG World Champion (Chris Hero has the longest.) Of the 28 PWG shows I have attended live, Joey Ryan was on 26 of them (the 2 he was not on were DDT4 2010 and Seven.)
I rarely if ever left PWG thinking Joey Ryan was in the match of the night, but his character always entertained me
I think this is because Joey Ryan is now in TNA which has new rules which limits their wrestlers appearing for Indy feds.
I am glad I have a ticket to PWG's next show on 12/1 in 2 weeks to see Joey Ryan make his final (at least for now) PWG appearance. Since only the main event (PWG World Champion Kevin Steen vs Adam Cole) is being announced in advance, I wonder who Joey Ryan's final PWG opponent will be?
I am also going the next day on 12/2 to the CWFH tapings and I wonder if Joey Ryan will be making a final appearance there too?

Joey is also one of The Six that created PWG. Honestly I thought he would never leave the company. Even when the Young Bucks were in TNA, they still wrestled in PWG. I'm shocked by this news.

Unfortunately, I am not shocked by this news because of TNA's new policy for its talent appearing on Indy shows. I was actually earlier wondering if PWG's last show in October was going to be Joey Ryan's last show. Although the Young Bucks only missed 1 PWG show (The Curse of Guerrilla Island) when they were in TNA, TNA recently implemented this new rule which is a different rule from the time the Young Bucks wrestled in both TNA and PWG: "TNA recently instituted a new policy where it's contracted talent are no longer allowed to wrestle on independent shows that are released on DVD or broadcasted via iPPV or television. Previously, TNA talent was allowed to work indy shows, even if those shows were released on DVD, as long as it was the indy promotion selling the DVDs directly and not a third party (such as Amazon.com or Best Buy)."

Cool stuff, Vegas, and too bad about the TNA lockdown on talent operating for other companies.
