I haven't really been around much over the past 10 months, the reason for this is I've been very focused on my health and losing weight.
I've always been overweight since the age of 7, mostly only about 20 - 30lbs overweight but over the last 7 years I really let myself go. In 2010 I had ballooned to 425+ lbs, I became miserable and always in pain. On 12/15/10 after 2 weeks of begin sick and short of breath to the point of nearly passing out I was rushed by ambulance to the emergency room. I was diagnosed with several blood clots that passed through my heart and into my lungs. I would spend the next week in the hospital with alot of time to think about how close to death I came...
It was shortly after that that I began to walk daily and lost about 20lbs that way. However the brutal Oklahoma summer of 2011 with 60+ days of 100+ degree temps stopped me. I told myself I would pick back up in the fall but that came and went... Finally, I got to thinking about further chance of blood clots and diabetes, it was then I made the decision to gain control of my life and change my future... I haven't looked back since.
My journey began 01/16/12 and as of 11/19/12 I've lost 100lbs. I still have another 125lbs to go before I hit my goal of 180lbs but I'm looking forward to every moment of it.
I made this video to chronicle the first 100lbs lost, mostly as a motivational tool for myself... a reminder of where I've been and how far I've come since. So many people have been helpful and inspirational to me. I just hope that maybe this helps just one person...

Wow...this is an amazing story and I'm proud of you, my friend. You dodged a bullet and managed to take control of your life...you inspired me for sure. The 89 lb mark is where I can really tell that you've dropped, then the 100. Keep it up, man...you can do it.

Ken, I finally was able to watch that video of yours...and all I got to say is...wow. Incredible job, man, incredible job.
When I decided to tackle this weight loss thing, I was nearly 250 lbs, I was uncomfortable, couldn't hardly even walk without losing my breath. I felt like my skin was going to burst, and my face? I nicknamed myself "pigface". I am not where I want to be, but I will be before long. You are an inspiration, and I appreciate your updates on facebook. I always enjoy seeing where you are at on meeting your goals.
Keep up the good, no, scratch that, the GREAT work you have been doing.
Chris

Just watched the video and wow. Fantastic job, man. A lot of people set those kinds of goals but never reach them, you've already dropped a pretty good chunk of the weight you needed to lose. Keep it up!

Great job Ace! So great to see people challenging themselves and improving their health.
Swarm secret: eat celery every day (or as much as you can). Celery is a super food that:
* contains natural testosterone (yes, free natural steroids in celery)...
* ...including the pheromones that attract women (if you're into that kind of thing) called androstenone and androstenol. When you chew celery, you release androstenone and androstenol odor molecules into your mouth. They then travel up the back of your throat to your nose. Once there, the pheromones boost your arousal, turning you on and causing your body to send off scents and signals that make you more desirable to women.
* negative calories (meaning you burn more calories chewing it than you gain from eating it!)
Celery, almonds, avacodo, bananas...meat-head society has been mowing on these things forever. Only recently are modern nutritionists catching up (see the recent avocado craze sweeping the nation). Next time you go to the gym cut up a small bag of celery and eat in on the way. You'll have a great workout and the women at your gym will wonder why they can't take their eyes off you! Plus it will help you lose tons of bad weight.
KEEP UP ALL THE HARD WORK!
