So I've played for many a year now and yet I've never used the Choice chart. I just felt it added a complicated layer onto the game and interrupts the flow of action. But I'm willing to change my ways if I'm sold on their use. So go ahead Choice chart advocates....sell me on them!

I feel the same exact way, my friend. Interrupts the flow is a good way to put it.

I enjoy the choice charts because on some cards it is the only way to incorporate into ropes or into turnbuckle. As well as, it makes it more individualized to the character, for example...Payback likes to take risks, so generally who goes for whatever hold is most damaging to an opponent. On the other hand, Tauran is a tactician and regardless of the impact will generally go for the safer play. In addition, a guy like Plethador will always take a bigger risk, because it might be his only shot at winning.
Plus, once you get use to using the choice charts you pretty much memorize them, not to mention if you play online the choice charts are easily accessable, which is actually one of my favorite features of the game table.

Oh, I forgot to add, I don't generally use the hold it states on the choice chart though...to much reduntency for me. I use whatever hold is on their card and just make the effect different because of the way they used it on the opponent.

Pretty much what jmello wrote.
I typically don't use them, but when I want to run a show with a little more depth I pull out the choice charts. Like jm does, I also tailor the move to fit the wrestler instead of using the same moves for everyone. It adds some more strategy. The ones that show up on the fourth move on level 2 offense and the first on level 3 are usually the big difference makers. It can actually make some wrestlers a little better than just using the standard rules (and, conversely, others will be a little weaker).

I've heard that argument before about the charts. I like the charts for a simple reason. Without them, it almost makes having agility and power ratings become meaningless. We've all seen the bootleg creations that don't have any (ag) or (pw) moves and no choice charts placed and I wonder, why did they bother giving their creation agility and power rankings since they are now obsolete on this card.

Also like JMello said, since there are only three (or in some instances two) written ways to get to the ropes/turnbuckle/ring/deathjump charts with regular rolls, it's the only way to get to that fourth chart.

In playing against someone they are essential as it is one of the few ways to incorporate strategy into the game.
Playing solo I do have a house rule that requires using them as I like each guy to have to use all the charts and have the power and agility actually factor into the match. On choices 1, B, G and H I automatically use the appropriate chart. On choices C, D, E and F I use what ever move hits for the most damage and only reverse if both moves were to fail (yes it is cheating somewhat).

I dont like using them but when I do you have a choice to use the chart options or the move on the card
Why should I roll to see if I hit a level 3 movie when I already have Ex:Spike Piledriver-3 and I am already on 3
If I am on 2 but can try for level 3 then I might go for it

Why should I roll to see if I hit a level 3 movie when I already have The original move is for basic rules, the options are forthe "advanced" rules, that is the difference.
