Entrance Music Project

Here is a project that I would like everyone's input on:

The idea is to put a link in my fed results that will allow the reader to listen to the specific wrestler's entrance music while they read the results. In this case I am using Monolith as the example. Here is how the fed result would appear:





(Monolith's music hits & he steps out onto the ramp amid a shower of sparks. Pyro explodes around him & he breathes out a puff of smoke as he begins his way down to the ring)

UNIVERSAL TITLE MATCH
MONOLITH(9) ( c ) defeated NOSFERA(6)
- Monolith came out with malicious intent & smacked aside Nosfera’s double ax handle attack & caught him up in a rib crusher to set-up THE END OF ALL THINGS but Nosfera escaped easily. Crashing Stampede & a Gladiator Piledriver for another nearfall led up to Feel the Terror & THE END OF ALL THINGS again, but Nosfera escaped. Another Crashing Stampede drove Nosfera back into the corner & when Monolith came in for a corner clothesline, Nosfera raised both knees & started his comeback with Panic in the Streets followed by DEMON’S BREATH & SPRING HEEL KICK. A low blow & a claw to Monolith’s eyes got him another nearfall. SPRING HEEL KICK & a flying clothesline set up another SPRING HEEL KICK, all of which Monolith escaped. Another low blow, Panic in the Streets, the DEMON’S BREATH & then a SPRING HEEL KICK looked certain to see Nosfera as the new Champion, but Tricks came out of nowhere with a kick to the groin followed by COULROPHOBIA to put him on the mat. Monolith recovered & nailed THE END OF ALL THINGS to finish the match.




Please don't give me shit about the music selection for Monolith. I think Monolith is a bull AniMan & the breathing a puff of smoke from the pyro's is my idea of a good entrance for him. Besides, this is the WCW Goldberg entrance music when he was working on the streak.

Let me know what you think about this. How you like it or if you don't. If you don't like it, what don't you like?

Do you think something like this would be a cool addition to reading people's fed results?

Great concept. This morning the link is dead, so I can't give you crap about the music.

I've also enjoyed results where folks link to YouTube for entrance music or even videos.

Hmmm, link works just fine for me. You might have to wait a few moments for the song to load before it will play but it is working.

I'm all about incorporating multimedia into the experience, as you know, so it's a great idea. The only thing I'd suggest is if you can convert the music files from .wavs to .mp3s (64 kbps), the sound quality will suffer a bit, but files will load a lot faster. I think it took around a minute for me to hear it. Plus if you could have it looping until the reader chooses to close it, that would be cool, too.

Since I work with audio for a living, I've got software that can do that relatively easily, but I don't know what you might have at your disposal. The conversion to mp3 at least would be a snap for me.

But overall I think this is worth exploring for sure!

Worked for me too, but yep...it took about a minute. Great Idea by the way Awesome way to add some sound ;D
Don't have the newer sets with Monolith yet, but from what I hear about him (domination)...the song works

I will make that change to mp3 format. It would make the load time much quicker. I will also loop the sound so that it plays continuously until you choose to close it.

What do you think about the minimized window so you can continue reading? I found it annoying that the window popped up over what you were reading so I decided to open it minimized.

(At the risk of going way off topic) There are ways to encode a window resize, but I'm not sure how you're presenting your stuff (like if you're building the webpage that's hosting the music file). I used an open source music editor called Audacity that allows you to export the snips as mp3 files.
