Anyone else think we are gearing up for a Rock beating Punk and Cena winning the Royal Rumble tomorrow so Cena and Rock fight at Mania or is that too easy to figure out?
I would love a surprise winner tomorrow but that never seems to happen anymore.

That's basically what I've been thinking for months now.

Unfortunately, that's what I'm thinking as well. Which means, at least for me, the next few months are going to be extremely boring for WWE. Rock officially is at the top of my 'Most Hated' list.

My wishful thinking booking:
Ryback wins the Rumble after eliminating Cena last. A frustrated Cena attacks Rock, costing him the match and turning heel in the process. Cena/Rock II with no belt on the line. Punk/Ryback with Ryback finally taking the belt from Punk.

best possible outcome: Rock loses, Cena wins Rumble, they make it triple threat at Mania and Punk still wins. then Cena and Rock both make movies.
yeah not likely

I wonder by making the Rock the champ that eventually they will faze out one of the championship belts. Rock probably won't be wrestling till Mania. I assume. I am curious who they will feed undertaker at Mania now. I was thinking it was going to be Cena. Maybe Punk? Jericho could have a good match with him, but seems unlikely since they are pushing the Zigler thing. My personal feeling is they dropped the biggest ball they had in a while by taking the belt off Punk. But then again, I don't know the market share and if he was pulling money in. Cena v Rock will get a lot of buys and peak interest. I personally won't get Mania this year, the last two have been less than stellar in my opinion. We will see I guess. Nice to see Golddust back.

Just read about the Rumble. Pretty much the crap that I expected, though Dolph has now become my favorite wrestler for sending Godfather on his *** in seconds!

Rock's advertised as wrestling at the Elimination Chamber PPV. Punk/Taker is the current rumor for WM. Honestly, Punk losing to Rock doesn't hurt him as much as some people think. Punk's title reign was full of screwy finishes and the matches that everyone thought he'd lose (Cena and Ryback), he didn't. They pulled the trigger at the right time on this. Any more time and it would have just been time for the sake of time. Much as this might make some people mad to hear, Punk is still only a big deal to a niche part of the WWE audience. He's not a huge draw in the sense that he sells PPVs, or even tickets in a lot of cases. He's a star for sure, but he's not enough of a star to warrant Rock doing a job. Punk's a workhorse, I'll never state the contrary, but the people thinking he should beat Rock (or as suggested here, Rock and Cena in the same match) are out of their mind. I'll paraphrase someone I heard on the Art of Wrestling: When a local indie brings in Tommy Dreamer to face their top guy, putting the guy over Dreamer is a stupid move because the fans paid to see Dreamer. Replace local indie with WWE, Tommy Dreamer with The Rock and top guy with CM Punk. It still fits. Just read about the Rumble. Pretty much the crap that I expected, though Dolph has now become my favorite wrestler for sending Godfather on his *** in seconds! Thought I'd seen it all...then I saw this.
