Go Milkman and Sodbuster...Farmer Boys do good.
Sullivan vs Vachon went about how I expected. Also fun to see Von Raschke winning.

Always great to see the Baron get a win, he was my grandpa's favorite Koloff & Saito still are undefeated even with The Armstrong boys giving a decent showing! Can they capture tag gold in Amory?? The chain is the game lol Mad Dog and the Prince of Darkness need to settle things in a decisive manner! a normal bout cannot contain the mayhem lol Excellent as all ways Cory

The Mid-South Coliseum shows never disappoint. Even though it was short, the main event brawl between Mad Dog Vachon and Kevin Sullivan was great. I am loving this rivalry. Bryan Danielson & Colt Cabana vs. Heavenly Bodies underneath was great. I really like the idea of a Danielson-Cabana tag team. Fantastic undercard as well and who doesn't love a Jake Milliman & Kenny Jay victory?

Thanks to Troy, Crue Fan, and Victory Roll for the comments!
Highlights from USWA Championship Wrestling on September 9: • Commissioner Bob Armstrong announced more matches for the September 18 card at the Louisville Gardens! o As a result of two disqualification endings in their matches, World Heavyweight champion “The Gamesmaster” Kevin Sullivan will face Mad Dog Vachon in a non-title No-Disqualification Match! With each man getting disqualified in their two meetings so far, wrestling fans will see who the decisive winner will be this time! o The World Tag Team champions will also be in action at the Gardens, as The Heavenly Bodies, accompanied by Louisville’s own Jim Cornette and his bodyguard Mr. Hughes, will collide with The Uptown Boys in a non-title bout! Tommy Rogers and Marty Jannetty got a non-title win at Independence Day Bash and came very close to winning the belts last month in Findlay. The Boys would love to get another win and get back in the championship picture! o Two men who have had some intense battles this year will lock horns again when “Classy” Freddie Blassie battles Red Bastien of the Flying Redheads! Bastien scored a pinfall on Blassie in this same arena back in March, making him only the third wrestler in USWA to have scored a decisive win on “The King of Men.” What will happen in this next meeting, especially with Blassie now having the Toloses watching his back? o The other half of the Flying Redheads will also go one-on-one when Billy Red Lyons tangles with Harley Race! Race continues to dominate inside the ring and his alliance with manager Jimmy Hart is an effective combination, as proven by last week’s match in Memphis with Steve “Dr. Death” Williams. Can he continue his winning ways? o Speaking of “Dr. Death,” he and Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy will be looking to avenge a tag team loss against “The Russian Bear” Ivan Koloff and Mr. Saito! When these two teams battled a few weeks ago in Evansville, the House of Humperdink team came out the victors, thanks to Sir Oliver Humperdink’s interference! Depending on the outcome of this week’s main event, Williams and Gordy could be battling the new World Tag Team champions in non-title action!
• A special “Press Conference” aired with Bill Apter of Pro Wrestling Illustrated, interviewing Tommy and Eddie Gilbert and The Patriot. The three were again at Tommy’s home in Lexington, where Apter had spoken to them a few months ago. The Patriot said the October 9 card will take place in the Tupelo Sports Arena. And it was in this same arena nearly one year ago, where Kevin Sullivan and Sir Oliver Humperdink lied and said that the Patriot was going to join the House of Humperdink. As fans know, that turned out to be the Dark Patriot. Tommy said that three of them feel that they know who this “bogus” Patriot is and they have been trying to unmask but that the House of Humperdink has been on guard to protect his identity. He said that with the upcoming Tupelo card, they feel it is time for the truth about the Dark Patriot to be revealed! Eddie said that he had talked to Commissioner Armstrong the day before and they had proposed a unique match for the 9th—an “Ultimate Jeopardy” Match—a tag team match with various stipulations for each wrestler involved! Apter reminded the wrestling world that the USWA had done this type of match once before. He asked who would be involved in this match. The Patriot replied that it would be he and Eddie against the Dark Patriot and any other member of the House of Humperdink that wishes to put their career at risk! Apter followed up asking about what the stipulations would be. The Patriot said that for the Dark Patriot, if he were to lose, he would need to unmask! The American hero said to be fair—he would put his own mask and identity at stake! Apter said that showcased his bravery to do that. Apter asked about the others involved in the match. Eddie stated that if he or the other House of Humperdink member loses the fall, that man would leave the USWA for one full year! Apter reminded “Hot Stuff” that could mean risking losing his future shot at the World Heavyweight title that he had earned by pinning Kevin Sullivan a few weeks ago in Evansville in a tag team match. Eddie said he understands the risk but he is very confident in his and the Patriot’s skills and that together they can defeat whichever House of Humperdink duo comes their way and reveal the Dark Patriot’s identity once and for all! Apter said that this would definitely be an “Ultimate Jeopardy” situation and he wondered if the House of Humperdink would accept the challenge. There was no word at this time from the House of Humperdink. Fans, you can read the full transcript of this interview in the latest issue of Pro Wrestling Illustrated, available at newsstands now!
The USWA debuts in a new location—Amory, MS! Amory fans will see a huge card of action on September 11 at the Old National Guard Armory! • Long-time rivals will do battle again when Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana faces “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce! Pearce got the win in Findlay last month in their first USWA meeting, thanks to Jim Cornette turning the tide. What will happen in the next chapter? • The American hero The Patriot will go to battle once again with fellow masked man Doctor X! The Doctor got the victory at the Nashville Fairgrounds six weeks ago but the Patriot’s eye was not at 100%, thanks to Kevin Sullivan’s golden spike. With his eye healed and his sights focused on the Dark Patriot’s mask, can the Patriot defeat this masked man? • Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy will be fired up after getting hit with Jimmy Hart’s megaphone twice last week against King Kong Bundy. This week, he will face another First Family of Wrestling member—Harley Race! Race defeated Gordy’s tag team partner Steve Williams last week in Memphis, thanks also to Hart and the megaphone! Can Gordy avenge his partner’s loss or will Race continue his winning ways? • As “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert awaits the answer for the “Ultimate Jeopardy” challenge, he will be in action this week against First Family of Wrestling member Bobby Shane! Shane is a crafty competitor and could pull off a big win over the three-time former Southern Heavyweight champion! • Eddie’s father Tommy Gilbert will also be in action, against the World Heavyweight champion “The Gamemaster” Kevin Sullivan in a non-title bout! Sullivan’s got a lot on his mind, not only with the challenge from the Gilberts and the Patriot but also with his No-Disqualification Match the next week against Mad Dog Vachon at the Louisville Gardens. Can Tommy take advantage of Sullivan’s state of mind and pull of a huge win? • The main event will be a huge tag team bout for the USWA World Tag Team titles. Jim Cornette’s Heavenly Bodies will defend the gold against the House of Humperdink’s Ivan Koloff and Mr. Saito! “The Russian Bear” and the Japanese Olympian have been a very impressive team this year, currently with an overall record of 11-0-1. They avenged that draw (a double disqualification) with a countout win over Steve Williams and Terry Gordy in Evansville. But Cornette’s men always seem to have a strategy for any opponents. Can the Bodies retain or will Koloff and Saito bring more gold to the House of Humperdink?
All these huge bouts, as well as two huge men battling it out in a rematch from Independence Day Bash, when King Kong Bundy faces Luke Harper! Also, Baron Von Raschke, The Flying Redheads, and the in-ring debut of the Tolos Brothers!

Mad Dog Vachon vs. Kevin Sullivan in a No DQ match! Batten down the hatches for that one!
Cory, I bet you're as stoked as I am to get that official Lance Russell card not to mention all of the Memphis greats coming out. It's going to make things a lot more fun especially in your USWA.

I put Von Raschke against Bockwinkel in a non-title AWA match the other day The Claw came out and stunned the champ! I'm giving him a title shot.

Interested to see how the Tolos's perform for you my friend. They had a really good run for me, but have somewhat been lost in the shuffle with all the new cards being produced. That is one solid tag-team...love me some Hamilton Wrecking Crew! Plus, John is solid in singles, can make a run of his own.
Looking forward to the 'Bodies taking down Koloff and Saito!

Thanks to Victory Roll, Crue Fan, Black Hand, and Stu for the comments!
September 11, 2017 Card #519: Old National Guard Armory in Amory, MS
1) The Flying Redheads were victorious in the opener over The Raiders in about four minutes. Red Bastien and Billy Red Lyons kept Raider I in the ring the entire match. They hit an impressive double dropkick and then Bastien scored the pin after his airplane spin into the atomic drop, while Lyons knocked an intervening Raider II out of the ring with a dropkick! The Amory fans gave the Redheads a big ovation for their win in the first USWA match in this city! DUD
2) Baron Von Raschke scored another win, this week over Cousin Luke. The German “Clawmaster” only needed about two minutes to put the hillbilly down with the brain claw. Von Raschke continues to impress! DUD
3) John and Chris Tolos made their full-time USWA debut, defeating Jake “The Milkman” Milliman and “Sodbuster” Kenny in about 10 minutes. “Classy” Freddie Blassie accompanied his new allies to the ring for this match. The fan favorites had some early offense against John, including Jay hitting the Sodbuster Spike! John took control with an eye rake on Jay, then tagged to Chris, who continued the onslaught with an eye gouge! Jay eventually tagged back to Milliman, but the Toloses were ready for him. They tagged in-and-out against “The Milkman.” Chris hit some running stomps and then tagged John again. Chris went up the ropes, while John held Milliman down and Chris hit a Tolos specialty—the flying knee smash. John made the cover, while Chris stopped Jay from a save and the Toloses got the pinfall. “The King of Men” has chosen two very affective allies to stay by his side! **
4) King Kong Bundy was victorious over Luke Harper after 18 minutes of hard-hitting action! Bundy had the early advantage and hit the Atlantic City Avalanche just a few minutes into the bout. Harper was down for three but managed to kick out at 4¾! Harper took control a few minutes later and hit an impressive swinging side slam on the 446-pounder. He made a cover but Bundy kicked out. Bundy rolled out of the ring for a breather but the big Nebraskan followed. Harper rammed Bundy’s head into the ring steps, which busted open the New Jersey giant. Bundy rolled back into the ring but Harper again followed and hit two big boots in a row. The second boot knocked Bundy down and Harper went for a cover but Bundy kicked out. Harper went up to the top rope, which he doesn’t do often. Bundy got to his feet and recovered before Harper could take off, so he slammed him hard to the mat. Bundy tried for a pin but Harper kicked out. A few minutes later, Harper took control again and hit an impressive sit-out power bomb, which he also used in their Independence Day Bash match at Beech Bend Raceway Park. Harper made a pin attempt immediately from the seated position but Bundy again kicked out. Harper whipped Bundy into the ropes and hit a third big boot, which knocked Bundy down but couldn’t keep him down for the pinfall. Harper tried for a half nelson suplex but Bundy shifted his massive weight and landed on top of Harper. Both men were fatigued but Bundy recovered first and whipped Harper into the corner. He delivered a second Avalanche and covered Harper to score the five-count. Jimmy Hart was very pleased with Bundy’s victory! ****
5) “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce defeated Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana in about six minutes. Cabana ran wild on his rival at the start. He sent Pearce into the corner and charged in but Pearce dodged and Cabana went flying over the ropes. Jim Cornette distracted Scott Bowden, while Mr. Hughes clotheslined Cabana outside the ring. He then grabbed him and dropped him throat-first across the guard railing before tossing him back inside. Cabana’s neck was hurting and Pearce took advantage of that, hitting a hangman’s neckbreaker and later a spinning neckbreaker for near falls. Pearce hit two separate jumping piledrivers but Cabana still managed to kick out. Pearce busted Cabana open with some stiff punches and finally put him down with a third piledriver. “Scrap Iron” is now 9-0 since his debut in June. **
6) Doctor X picked up another victory over The Patriot. The two masked men battled it out for the first minutes. X took the advantage and went for the figure-four leglock. Patriot was trapped in the hold for nearly a minute but powered his way to the ropes for a break. X stayed in control and caught the Patriot in the X-cellent sleeper. Patriot dropped to the mat, Joe Wheeler checked his arm, and it dropped three times. X got the win via submission after six minutes. *½
7) Harley Race continued his winning ways, albeit via controversial means for the second week in a row, with a sneaky pin on Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy. The two former Southern champions battled back-and-forth for the first few minutes. Gordy got Race down on the mat and went for a double knee drop but Race rolled out of the way. Race worked on Gordy’s injured knee and went for an Indian Deathlock. Gordy fought to the ropes after about 40 seconds in the hold. Race kept Gordy on the mat and went up the ropes. He came off with the diving head butt. He covered Gordy and put his feet on the second rope. Jimmy Hart reached in and added leverage as well. Race scored the pinfall after eight minutes of action. The Amory fans were outraged by such a tainted win between these two greats! **
8) Another First Family of Wrestling member scored a nefarious win, as Bobby Shane defeated “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert via submission. “The Mouth of The South” Jimmy Hart did not accompany Shane to the ring initially, as he had just returned to the locker room with Harley Race. Shane and Gilbert exchanged control. Shane locked on the Japanese sleeper but Gilbert managed to fight free. Hart showed up at ringside, as Shane locked on a figure-four leglock. Shane positioned himself near the ropes and Hart again added leverage, grabbing his charge’s hands! Gilbert fought hard for the ropes but was in a lot of pain. He passed out from the pain and Scott Bowden counted his shoulders down, giving Shane a big, albeit controversial, win! *½
9) Tommy Gilbert scored a huge win, with a pinfall on World Heavyweight champion “The Gamesmaster” Kevin Sullivan in a non-title bout! This was a wild brawl from the opening bell between these two rivals. Sullivan took the action to the floor, while Sir Oliver Humperdink distracted Joe Wheeler. Sullivan grabbed the bell hammer and choked Gilbert with it. He tossed Gilbert back into the ring and had control for a few minutes but Gilbert rallied back. He hit Sullivan with a standing dropkick for a near fall. He hit the running knee lift but the World champion kicked out. He stayed in control and hit a second knee lift a few moments later to put Sullivan down for the pinfall! The Amory fans went wild for Gilbert’s huge win! Eddie Gilbert and the Patriot, recovered from their own earlier bouts, came down to the ring and celebrated with Tommy, as Sullivan and Humperdink slinked back to the locker room! ***¼
10) After the pre-main event intermission, Sir Oliver Humperdink was back at ringside, accompanying his undefeated team of Ivan Koloff and Mr. Saito, as they challenged Jim Cornette’s Heavenly Bodies for the USWA World Tag Team championship! This turned out to be an amazing 42-minute bout and it looked like either team could take home the gold. Chris Candido hit a top rope leg drop on “The Russian Bear” about five minutes into the bout for a two-count. Saito was the legal man a few minutes later and executed his suplex on “The Suicide Blonde” but the New Jerseyan kicked out. The House of Humperdink looked like they might have the belts locked up, as Koloff hit the Russian Sickle a few moments later but Tom Prichard made the save. Saito tagged back in and busted Candido open with some stiff elbow smashes. He followed up with the Scorpion Leglock. Candido was trapped for over two minutes. Jim Cornette got up on the apron to distract Paul Morton. Prichard came off the second rope with an axe-handle to Saito’s back, breaking up the move and sending Saito to the floor. With Humperdink and Koloff’s help, the Japanese Olympian got back in the ring. Candido had recovered and surprised him with a small package for a two-count. Prichard tagged back in and busted Saito open after two jumping knee drops. Saito kicked out of the pin attempt. The Bodies executed the Prima Donna Plunge on Saito. Candido went for the cover but former World champion Koloff made a save. Candido executed a diving head butt and went for a cover but Humperdink distracted the ref. Cornette came around the ring and whacked Humperdink with his tennis racquet! Koloff went after “The Louisville Slugger” but Mr. Hughes stepped in front of his employer. Saito later had the Scorpion on Prichard but “The Doctor of Desire” made the ropes for a break. Koloff hit a leg drop right across the bridge of Prichard’s nose, now making Dr. Tom the third man in the match to wear the “crimson mask.” Saito tagged back in and executed the Saito suplex but Prichard kicked out. Prichard was in trouble but got near his own corner and the Bodies hit a double neck snap on the top rope on Saito. Candido tagged in and wore down the Japanese Olympian. He tagged back to Prichard and the Bodies set up for another Prima Donna Plunge. Before they could execute the move, Humperdink again distracted Morton, while “The Russian Bear” tried to sneak in with his chain. Hughes came in the ring and blasted Koloff with a clothesline. Prichard picked up the chain and blasted Saito with it. Hughes took Koloff out of the ring, while Prichard locked Saito in a sleeper. Morton turned around to check Saito’s arm. Saito was knocked out from the chain and his arm dropped three times. Morton called for the bell and awarded the bout to the World Tag Team champions the Bodies! This was also Koloff and Saito’s first loss as a team! The Amory fans supported the Bodies on this occasion and Humperdink was outraged that his plan had backfired! *****
