Just back from the kid’s baseball tournament and was psyched to see that the results of the Bash were posted. Great event. Some shocking finishes. Cannot wait to see what the fall out will be

Thanks to Pariah Guest, Neilybob, and Booker Bill for the comments! Not really happy about Pearce dropping that final stage of the Seven Levels of Hate to Cabana... But, I'm certain those wicked bookers have something up their six-sided sleeves. I was bummed the final match was so quick and I will miss having Pearce in the USWA, as I loved his run. But given how their feud started out, I did like that Cabana got to stay for now. You will see in the coming game months that he has a good place on the roster. Most entertaining line of the entire event --- The always faithful USWA ring crew quickly constructed the cage around the ring... Perhaps some of those hard working crew members could be loaned out to Mr Chad Olson to get things back on track. Eh? 😜 That's awesome, Pariah! I wasn't even thinking of Chad's lackluster ring crew when I wrote that line. But I love that you caught that!

Hope everyone in the USA is having an awesome Independence Day!
After an action-packed and memorable Independence Day Bash, the next two episodes of USWA Championship Wrestling were packed full of news!
July 7: • An interview aired with the now-two-time USWA World Heavyweight champion The Patriot. The masked American thanked Lance Russell and the fans for their support and gave extra thanks to Commissioner Teddy Long for giving him a fair shot at Harley Race. Lance informed him that he had heard from the commissioner’s office that his first defense of his second reign will be on August 6 at the Tupelo Sports Arena when he defends against “Classy” Freddie Blassie! The champion said that he is happy to take on Blassie and defend the gold and his country! • The commissioner also had some matches to announce for the July 23 card at the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Coliseum in Evansville! o In a rematch from last month in Lexington, “Wildfire” Tommy Rich and “Superstar” Bill Dundee will battle The Heavenly Bodies! Rich and Dundee got the win in their last meeting by countout after 34 minutes of intense action that featured triple juice! o “The Monday Night Messiah” Tyler Black will battle Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana. Cabana cost Black the Southern Heavyweight title a few weeks ago in Tuscaloosa and Black wants to curb stomp the host of The Art of Wrestling! • Speaking of Cabana, it was not known as of this episode the plans for his rival “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce following their Seven Levels of Hate series. Jim Cornette had no comments on Pearce’s next steps.
July 14: • Commissioner Long announced that the August 20 card will take place in Jackson, TN. While the USWA has come to Jackson for years, this will be the first time a card has been held at the West Tennessee State Fairgrounds! The commissioner already has made two title matches for that debut card: o The main event will feature Tyler Black receiving his rematch for the USWA Southern Heavyweight championship. The champion will be determined after next week’s main event in Evansville between current champion “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson and two-time former champion “Exotic” Adrian Street! o Black’s bodyguard will also be in a title match, as Luke Harper will make his first defense of the USWA Mid-America Heavyweight championship when he defends against Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana! The commissioner gave Cabana this shot as a result of winning his Seven Levels of Hate series. This will be Cabana’s first ever shot at any USWA championship!
• In a preview of sorts for the Jackson card, Commissioner Long announced that a tag team match will take place on the August 6 card in Tupelo, when Southern Heavyweight champion “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson and Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana take on “The Monday Night Messiah” Tyler Black and Mid-America Heavyweight champion Luke Harper! This should be an interesting tag team bout! • Also announced for the July 23 card in Evansville was “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert taking on Harley Race! Both are former World champions looking to get back on track after suffering disappointing losses at Independence Day Bash. • Mad Dog Vachon, Baron Von Raschke, The Barbarian, and Doctor X were in studio. Lance asked them why they chose the Barbarian as their mystery partner at Independence Day Bash. The Baron replied that this man is vicious and just the right type of man needed to take out the Armstrongs! Vachon added that they will use his services until the job is done! Lance noted that the Barbarian has learned from Doctor X about how to use a foreign object, based on his loaded boot to “Bullet” Bob Armstrong after the six-man tag team match. The rulebreakers denied that and were outraged by Lance’s allegations!
The USWA comes back to the Civic Coliseum in Knoxville on July 16! • “Wildfire” Tommy Rich will do battle with former Southern Heavyweight champion Mr. Hughes! Rich has been on…well, fire since coming to the USWA in March and is coming off a huge win over “Classy” Freddie Blassie on July 4. Jim Cornette would love for Hughes to give Rich his first loss, as well as hurt him prior to his and “Superstar” Bill Dundee’s tag team bout with the Heavenly Bodies next week in Evansville. Who will win this big bout? • Two top tag teams will collide again when the former World Tag Team champions The Flying Redheads take on the House of Humperdink’s team of Ivan Koloff and Mr. Saito. In their last meeting, Red Bastien and Billy Red Lyons earned a DQ victory last month in Lexington, when “The Russian Bear” used his chain. Which team will get the win in Knoxville? • In a match with a connection to the main event on this card, “Classy” Freddie Blassie will battle it out with “Bullet” Bob Armstrong! You can bet that Blassie is fuming coming off his loss to Tommy Rich on Independence Day. He cannot overlook the “Bullet,” who has gotten some big wins this year. Can “The King of Men” defeat “Bullet” Bob or will the Armstrong patriarch triumph? • The main event will be a rematch between two brother tag teams for the top tag team prize in the USWA, as Brad and Brian Armstrong defend the USWA World Tag Team titles against John and Chris Tolos! The Toloses got the win last time when “Bullet” Bob Armstrong interfered, causing a disqualification. The Canadian brothers have now challenged three different times for a total of four shots and all four of those matches have ended in disqualifications, with the Tolos Brothers coming out the winners in the last three matches. Can the Toloses finally win the match and the gold or will the Armstrongs remain champions?
All these bouts, as well as a rematch from Independence Day Bash, when “The Fabulous” Jackie Fargo battles The Amish RoadKill! Plus, more USWA stars in action, including “The Gamesmaster” Kevin Sullivan, “Exotic” Adrian Street, The Fantastics, Dutch Savage, Mike Jackson, and more!

Even though I wasn't thrilled with the Seven Levels of Hate outcome, there's no denying that Cabana has probably earned this shot at USWA Mid-America Heavyweight title... Really looking forward to the upcoming tag team match pitting Danielson & Cabana against Brodie & Black... Let the sparks fly!

Independence Day Bash overdelivered in my opinion. What a show. That eight-man cage match was insane with the House of Humperdink team beating the Gilbert's and Andre the Giant. I never would have imagined Andre being on the losing side of that one. Congrats to Colt Cabana and The Patriot on their huge wins, two more matches that I thought would go the other way.
From start to finish that was an exceptional read.

Thanks to Victory Roll, Pariah Guest, and Crue Fan for the comments!
July 16, 2018 Card #551: Civic Coliseum in Knoxville
1) Nacho Barrera spoiled Mike Jackson’s second USWA match with a pinfall in eight minutes. Jackson had the initial control and looked on his way to a win. Barrera rolled out of the ring for a breather and pulled Jackson out by the legs. He slammed Jackson’s head into the ring apron and tossed him back in. The Mexican grappler hit a second rope elbow drop for a near fall and then followed up with a knee smash to the face to get the victory. Barrera is always a capable competitor in the ring! **
2) The Fantastics scored a quick win over Gene Spurlock and Rick Miller. Hollywood, FL native Spurlock scored a big win over Paul London in a tag team match with him and George South against London and Brian Kendrick in this same arena five years ago. But tonight, he was kept in the ring the entire time by Tommy Rogers. Rogers tagged to Bobby Fulton and the Fantastics hit a combination press slam into a splash (as Rogers and Marty Jannetty used as the Uptown Boys). Fulton covered Spurlock and scored the pinfall at 1:16. The Knoxville fans gave the Fantastics a big ovation for their win! DUD
3) Dutch Savage scored a pinfall on Jake “The Milkman” Milliman in six minutes. Milliman had some offense but Savage fought back. He scored a near fall after a clothesline and then hit the running piledriver for the three-count. Savage continues to be a dominant competitor! *
4) “The Fabulous” Jackie Fargo avenged his disqualification loss from Independence Day Bash with a pinfall on The Amish RoadKill in three minutes. “The Angry Amish Warrior” looked like he might score a win but Fargo rallied back with the Knoxville fans cheering him on. Fargo spun RoadKill around with a big right hand and then hit the atomic drop for the win. Fargo is becoming extremely popular with the USWA fans, many of whom are emulating his Fabulous Fargo Strut! *
5) “Exotic” Adrian Street scored a pinfall on S.D. Jones. The British glam rocker showcased his wrestling arsenal in this bout. “Special Delivery” gave Street a good challenge, kicking out of a big splash and an elbow drop. But Street put him down for the count after a neckbreaker in nine minutes. As Street got his hand raised by Joe Wheeler, he made a motion that he plans to become a three-time Southern Heavyweight champion next week when he faces “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson in Evansville! **
6) “The Gamesmaster” Kevin Sullivan defeated “The Anarchist” Arik Cannon by disqualification. Sullivan seemed very confident coming off the House of Humperdink’s win in the Rage in The Cage Match on July 4. He may have been overconfident against Cannon, as Cannon surprised him with a schoolboy roll-up out of the corner in the first minute of the match. Sullivan took over and used a steel chair outside the ring, while Sir Oliver Humperdink distracted Scott Bowden. Sullivan executed the Tree of Woe back inside the ring but wouldn’t go for a cover. He took Cannon outside the ring again and had him near the guard railing. Cannon rallied back with punches. A front-row fan handed Cannon a bottle of PBR that he had purchased from the concession stand. Cannon grabbed the bottle and out of instinct smashed the two-time former World Heavyweight champion with it! Bowden saw this from inside the ring and called for the bell after six minutes. Cannon was frustrated at losing the bout but seemed content with having given Sullivan a taste of his own medicine! Sullivan and Sir Oliver Humperdink retreated to the locker room and seemed surprised by Cannon’s actions! *¾
7) “Wildfire” Tommy Rich kept up his winning ways with a hard-earned win over former Southern Heavyweight champion Mr. Hughes in 14 minutes. It looked as if Jim Cornette’s bodyguard might give Rich his first loss in the USWA, as he scored near falls after the spike slam and a released gut wrench suplex. Rich fought back and took control of his larger opponent. He hit Hughes with the Thesz Press and went for a pin. Rich’s head was near the ropes and while Paul Morton was counting Hughes’s shoulders, Cornette reached in with the tennis racquet and jabbed Rich, not enough to hurt him but just to break up the pin. Rich went after “The Louisville Slugger.” Hughes recovered and took over on Rich. He whipped Rich into the buckles but “Wildfire” reversed the whip. As Hughes bounced back off the buckles, Rich caught him with a boot to the midsection and then hit a piledriver on the big man. He covered Hughes and got three-count. The Knoxville fans gave Rich a big ovation for his win! ***½
8) The Flying Redheads came out the winners in an amazing 28-minute match against the House of Humperdink team of Ivan Koloff and Mr. Saito! These two teams typically have competitive match-ups and this one followed the tradition. Early in the match, the Redheads hit a double dropkick on the Japanese Olympian. Saito tagged to “The Russian Bear” a few moments later and the rulebreakers double teamed Billy Red Lyons for several minutes. Saito went a submission with the Prison Deathlock but Lyons made the ropes. Saito continued the attack on the legs, applying the Scorpion Leglock but again the Canadian of grappler got to the ropes. Saito tagged to Koloff, whipped Lyons into the ropes, and Koloff nailed him with the Russian Sickle. Koloff caught Lyons right across the bridge of the nose and busted him open. He covered Lyons but Lyons kicked out at 2¾, which drew a big pop from the Knoxville crowd! The former USWA World champion Koloff lifted Lyons up into the Russian backbreaker. Lyons was hurting but managed to break out of the hold, fall behind Koloff, and catch him in a backside for a near fall. Koloff quickly recovered and went to punch Lyons but Lyons ducked and dove to the Redheads’ corner, where he made the hot tag to Red Bastien! Bastien leaped over the ropes and went to work on Koloff. He executed the airplane spin into the atomic drop. After delivering the atomic drop, Koloff went head-first into Saito and was busted open! Bastien went for a cover but Koloff got a foot on the bottom rope. Lyons came back in and went for the sleeperhold. A bloodied Koloff started to drop. Sir Oliver Humperdink got up on the ring apron as Joe Wheeler was about to check Koloff’s arm. With Wheeler distracted, Saito came in with Koloff’s chain and punched Lyons right in the face with it! Lyons looked out and Saito placed Koloff, who was also out, on top for a pin. Humperdink still had Wheeler distracted and Bastien entered the ring and dropkicked Saito out of it! Bastien then placed Lyons on top, as Wheeler turned around to count the pinfall! The Civic Coliseum exploded at the Redheads’ turnaround win! Bastien helped Lyons to his feet. Lyons was barely aware of what had happened due to the chain smash but celebrated with Bastien as he became aware! *****
9) “Bullet” Bob Armstrong took a pounding but came back to score a huge win over “Classy” Freddie Blassie! “The Vampire” was vicious against “Bullet” Bob at the start of the bout, biting his forehead twice. Armstrong rallied back and had Blassie in trouble in the corner but Blassie kicked him low, which Scott Bowden was unable to see. Blassie went for a cover but the Armstrong patriarch kicked out. Armstrong fought back with some stiff punches and knocked “The King of Men” down with a knee lift. He then went up the ropes and came off with the Georgia jawjacker, knocking down Blassie. He covered the two-time former Southern champion and scored the pinfall in six minutes. The fans went wild for Armstrong’s comeback win! (Would Bob’s sons Brad and Brian have the same success against Blassie’s allies the Toloses? Read on!) **¾
10) Speaking of which, the main event was a rematch from last month in Lexington. In a battle of brother tag teams, Brad and Brian Armstrong put the USWA World Tag Team titles on the line against John and Chris Tolos. This was the Toloses’ fifth shot at the titles in the last seven months, with the previous four matches all ending in a disqualification and the last three ending up with the Canadian brothers winning the matches but not the titles. The champions had control at the start against John but John turned the tide on Brad and trapped him in the challengers’ corner. Chris tagged in and the Canadian brothers worked over Brad. Brad started to mount a comeback against Chris and bounced off the ropes. As he did, John dropped off the ring apron to the floor and tripped Brad, causing him to hit the mat face-first. “The Road Dogg” saw this from the other side of the ring and left the Armstrongs’ corner to go after John. Back in the ring, Chris pulled Brad off the mat and hit a body slam, then covered him to score the pinfall in six minutes. After five challenges, the Tolos Brothers finally captured the World Tag Team titles! Brian realized what had happened and was mad at himself. As Paul Morton handed the new champions the belts, they were joined by “Classy” Freddie Blassie, who tried to hog some of the moment for himself! “Bullet” Bob Armstrong came down to ringside to check on his sons and make sure the rulebreakers didn’t attack. (With the win, the Toloses are the third brother tag team to have held the belts, after the Vachons and the Armstrongs.) *

The Tolos brothers finally claim gold and of course their manager showed up to celebrate with them... Proper thing! Now here's an interesting predicament... Will Bullet Bob agree to another showdown with Classy Freddie for a higher degree of satisfaction? Especially since Blassie's clients just took the tag belts away from his sons? Family feuds are always intense and this one is truly no exception.
Oh, yeah... And how about that opener? NACHO MADNESS is OFF THE CHAIN!
