It really bothers me seeing guys that were big main event headliners twenty years ago coming back to RAW just to be used as punching bags. Does this bother anyone else ?

It don't bother me the least bit......... But i have not watched a WWF program in over 5 or 6 years. The way i see it that if these "legends" don't mind why should we.
Until ROH came on about 5 months ago the only wrestling i watched was when a Indy fed would hold a show somewhere near the Myrtle Beach area, but that don't even happen too much anymore.
I am thinking of making a few road trips to see ROH in action in Asheville and Richmond if the time and funds all work out.

It doesn't bother me. What do you want them to do? Put those guys over current talent? A young heel beating up an old timer (in theory) equals heat for the young heel.

It bothers me as a fan who watched these guys in their prime. When I was a kid Sgt Slaughter was a big heel who with one of the big three WWF big three managers Grand Wizard challenged Bob Backlund for the title and had a big feud with Pat Patterson that ended in the big alley fight at madison square garden. Dusty Rhodes was a regular contender for the NWA title and Hacksaw Duggan was a big star in mid south. Now whenever I see these guys they're being made to look like idiots. No I dont want to see them being put over current talent I'd just rather not see them in the ring at all. I understand what you're saying about the young heels getting heat for beating an older star. I could see that if the older guys were still active not retired and pushing 70.

Jim Duggan still is active, but I get what you're saying. I'd rather not see those dudes wrestle at this point in the game, but if Slaughter's just going to come out and take somebody's move, what does it hurt? It's not like anyone's going to think any less of Sarge. If anything, it's better that he does that instead of trying to work a full match with someone now.
