Like many of you I plan to run my ROH alongside my Chikara and Championship Wrestling from Hollywood (if I ever get the last one). Hoping my ROH set arrives by Monday at the latest, I wanted to lay some ground rules and ask how you all will do it.
I calculate my rankings based on points earned for wins and Championships in a spreadsheet. This leads to a few questions.
Should I keep separate rankings, one for Chikara and one for ROH? My immediate thought on this is yes. However, then I have to worry about wrestlers competing in both feds. I can either keep track of separate points and win/loss records for each wrestler based on the Fed, or keep one total for his "worldwide" win/loss records. Separate seems to make sense. Kingston could be doing well in Chikara but be low ranked in ROH do to only sporadic appearances. However, I like the idea of tracking wins and losses like Boxing or MMA and would rather I have one total per wrestler.
Also, if everyone has a win/loss record per Fed, what should I do when a Card is promoted by 2 or more Feds? Should their ranking in their "home" promotion get the points? Should their rankings in both promotions be effected? What about earning points towards the Campeonatos de Parejas? Only matches from Chikara shows, or should cross promoted shows count as well? What if an ROH team fights and ROH team on an ROH/Chikara promoted show, should they earn points towards the Campeonatos de Parejas?
Also, I'm not tied to the point system for rankings, even though it's what I've always used. I just have never found anything better.

This is a very good idea. I'm running Chikara, CZW, IWA and soon PWG and ROH, so I may do something similar to what you have planned. I'd keep the win loss record for both ALL TIME and for their individual matches in whatever federation.
Would like other people to chime in.

I should have mentioned I did consider tracking them both by Fed and All Time. More work, but probably worth it.

I'm running a Chikara, ROH & a CWF Hollywood. There is a lot of guys who crossover over into each of the three. I keep all records seperate. At least at the moment I don't plan on running any joint promoted shows but I'm not really sure what I'd do if I did.
here's the breakdown of the 3 feds:
Chikara runs 12 iPPV's per year
ROH has a weekly tv show with 3 matches along with 6 iPPV's
CWF Hollywood has a weekly tv show with 2 matches
a guy like Bryan Danielson wrestles in all 3. He is 3-3 in Chikara, 3-0 in ROH and the current ROH World champion, and 1-1 in CWF Hollywood

Do you carry over feuds from one fed to the next?
What I mean by Cross-promoted shows are things like Synergy where both the Chikara and ROH Rosters were present and many of the matches were inter-promotional.

I do have feuds carry over in some cases. Colt Cabana & Adam Pearce feud lives on everywhere!
with the cross-promoted shows, I just say "it's a ROH show" or "it's a Chikara show" and all records go towards that promotion. I have had thoughts of doing a champion vs champion match in the future but I'll figure that out when I get to it. I guess it could be possible my ROH World Champion loses his title on a Chikara card, that could cause some interesting storylines.
