Now that I've finally received the official ROH Game, I was able to run my own simulation of who's going to win at Final Battle 2012 on Dec. 16. As for the participants who don't have ROH cards, I used what I had on-hand, including Matt Hardy, BJ Whitmer, Jerry Lynn and Bobby Fish (I won't say who gave me his stats, as per a promise I made to that person.) This is how my Final Battle sim played out:
1. Special Challenge Match: Jay Lethal vs. "The Man Beast" Rhino
Rhino pinned Jay Lethal with the GORE! despite Jay having the upperhand nearly the entire match. (Truth Martini did not appear at ringside during he match to try and persuade Rhino not to leave the House of Truth, so it looks like things still aren't copacetic (sp?) within that stable.
2. GRUDGE MATCH: "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin vs. Roderick Strong
Michael Elgin won the match by disqualification, due to a brawl outside the ring between the two competitors. Truth Martini came down to the ring during the brawl in order to make one more attempt to stop the match and restore the House of Truth, but both Roderick and Michael picked him up and slammed him right through the announcer's table before resuming their brawl.
3. NEW YORK STREET FIGHT: Rhett Titus and BJ Whitmer vs. WGTT
Shelton Benjamin picked up the win for his team after pinning Titus, who was totally dominated throughout the entire match, with the PAYDIRT. Rhett never had the opportunity to tag in Whitmer.
4. In his final match in Ring of Honor before his official retirement from pro wrestling, Jerry Lynn pinned the "Prodigy" Mike Bennett with the CRADLE PILEDRIVER.
5. SPECIAL CHALLENGE MATCH: ROH World Television Champion Adam Cole vs. Matt Hardy
These two put on a wrestling clinic for the fans attending the event at the Hammerstein Ballroom. In the end, Adam picked up the win when he pinned Hardy with the FLYING CROSSBODY.
6. THREE WAY SUDDEN DEATH MATCH FOR THE ROH WORLD TAG TEAM TITLES: ROH World Tag Team Champions Steve Corino & Jimmy Jacobs vs. Briscoe Bros. vs. C&C Wrestle Factory
Clearly this was the best match of the night. Action was traded back and forth amongst all three teams. At the end of the night, The Briscoe Brothers became the 8-time ROH World Tag Team champions after Jay Briscoe pinned Cedric Alexander with a release spinebuster.
7. GRUDGE MATCH: American Wolves vs. Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish
In the most anticipated match of the evening, it still wasn't clear whether or not Eddie Edwards would even appear at the Hammerstein Ballroom, much less team up with Davey Richards, as he was only contacted by e-mail three weeks prior, plus the fact that he wasn't scheduled to return from Japan until Dec. 15. However, half-way through the match, Eddie stepped through the curtain to the delight of the crowd and stood in Davey's corner. When he was tagged in, the roof was blown by the loud pop. All of a sudden, Davey and Richard were working together in the ring as if the Wolves had never separated. The Wolves picked up the win after Bobby Fish was counted out of the ring after being knocked out by Eddie, who had dove through the ropes and smashed him against the ringside barrier.
8. LADDER WAR FOR THE ROH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP: El Generico vs. ROH World Champion "Wrestling's Worst Nightmare" Kevin Steen
The Generic Luchador and Steen closed out the show in a violent fashion, constantly whipping each other into the ladder, and using the ladder as a weapon, including Kevin diving off the top turnbuckle with the ladder, powerslamming it onto El Generico. When it was all over, Kevin managed to leave the Hammerstein Ballroom with the ROH World title still around his waist after he gave El Generico a fireman's buster onto his knee before climbing the ladder and retrieving the belt.
The only match I didn't play was the recently added match between Prince Nana and barrister RD Evans, as I didn't have any stats for either one, plus I didn't really care about this throw-away open card match to begin with.
