Card 1 - Great Lakes Pro Wrestling @ Hershey Centre, Mississauga, Ontario “Debut”
Archibald Peck w/Veronica v. Johnny Saint Guest competitor Johnny Saint gets a solid ovation from ringside. Although Peck sets the pace in the early action he is inconsistent and struggles. Saint avoids a CRANIAL CRESCENDO but Saint gets caught climbing the corner and Peck tosses him to the mat. Saint goes into the corner hard but counters Peck’s charge with an elbow to the face. Saint with a Three-in-One for a 1 count (R9/P4). It is all Saint now with a series of holds and stretches. Peck grabs the ropes to escape a figure four leglock (ch) (R9/P6). Saint whips Peck into the guardrails and continues to dominate in the ring. Peck manages to drag Saint to the floor and runs him shoulder first into the ring post. Peck cannot capitalize as Saint rolls clear of a CRANIAL CRESCENDO. Saint locks in an elevated surfboard but Peck does not submit and then rolls to the floor when Saint releases the hold. Peck cannot recover and is counted out of the ring (R6/P10). After the match Peck pleads with the official saying that he could not hear the count because the fans were too loud. Peck yells at ringside blaming the fans for the loss.
Amasis v. Ophidian Former tag team partners battled next. The fans expected some seriously fast paced action from these two but instead Ophidian keeps the match grounded early on. Amasis wins a brawl on the floor and connects with EGYPTIAN CONNIPTION for a 2 count (R4/P1). Ophidian is able to counter a deathjump with a boot to the chin and then works over Amasis with a death grip. It is all Ophidian at this point. Amasis escapes a DEATH GRIP (R11/P4) and then is able to counter a figure four leglock attempt. Amasis has the fans behind him and hits a second EGYPTIAN CONNIPTION for a 1 count (R7/P2). Both men miss moves and Amasis regains control with a tackle in the corner followed by a deathjump smash. EGYPTIAN CONNIPTION for a 2 count (R6/P3). A four one gets another two count (R9/P4). The fans cannot believe it. Amasis is clearly frustrated and takes the bout to the floor. Ophidian catches him outside with a low blow and then whips Amasis into the ring post earing a disqualification. Sara Del Rey v. Daizee Haze We get a solid “queen of wrestling” chant in support of Del Rey at the opening bell. Haze uses her speed to get the advantage and strings together some impressive offense. A Heart Punch drops Del Rey for a 2 count (R5/P3) before Haze executes a MIND TRIP for a near fall (R7/P5). Haze connect with a second MIND TRIP and Del Rey kicks out at the last possible second (R7/P6). Del Rey is able to counter a sleeper hold and takes over with a series of power moves that eventually force Haze outside. Del Rey snaps and applies the LeBell Lock on the floor and refuses to release hold. We have our third disqualification in a row. The fans are not pleased and jeer Del Rey from ringside.
Team Fist (Chuck Taylor, Icarus & Johnny Gargano) v. El Generico & The Throwbacks (Dasher Hatfield & Sugar Dunkerton) The fans are very happy to see the trio combination of Generico & The Throwbacks. The match starts out with Icarus taking the fight to Dunkerton. Gargano cannot keep the momentum going and Hatfield takes over from Dunkerton. Both men collide after each goes for a clothesline. Hatfield is up first and the Throwbacks execute the GRANDSLAM DUNK on Gargano. All six men hit the ring and a wild brawl starts. FIST gets the upper hand as the officials restore order and Gargano nails Hatfield with the HURTS DONUT for a 1 count (R9/P3). Hatfield turns things around against Taylor on the floor and Generico tags in but Taylor counters a deathjump with a boot to the face. Icarus has control of the match. A deathjump cross body block gets Icarus a 1 count (R11/P2) before he executes the WINGS OF ICARUS for the three count (R3/P3).
Delirious w/Daizee Haze v. Bryan Danielson Danielson has total control in the ring early on but when the action goes to the floor, Delirious gets the upper hand. Back inside, Delirious with a PRAYING MANIS BOMB for a 2 count (R5/P2). Danielson shows he can mix it up outside as well as a series of roundhouse kicks at ringside give him the advantage. Danielson gets a 2 ¾ count after a deathjump crossbody block. The action goes back and forth as the bout slips in and out of the ring. Danielson goes on an offensive run in the ring with a series of kicks and suplexes leading up to a TRIANGLE CHOKE but Delirious makes it to the ropes (R7/P4). A crossface chickenwing forces Delirious to the floor. Back inside, Danielson locks in CATTLE MUTILATION for the win.
Ultramatis Black & Incoherence (Frightmare & Hallowicked) v. The Colony (Fire Ant, Green Ant & Soldier Ant) Soldier Ant battled Frightmare at the outset and it leads to ANTS GO MARCHING for a 2 count (R5/P3). The Ants then hit SUPER MEGA ANTAPULT on Frightmare but Black and Hallowicked make the save. Fire Ant and Black trade moves until Ant catches Black with a cross body block rebounding off the ropes for a 1 count (R7/P3). BEACH BREAK for a 2 count (R7/P4). Ant attacks with a deathjump smash and a BEACH BREAK for a 1 count (R12/P5). Ant connects with another BEACH BREAK but Hallowicked and Frightmare make the save. A wild brawls occurs and Hallowicked ends up battling Green Ant. Slingshot in the corner sets up HEADLESS HORSEMAN on Green Ant for a 1 count (R9/P4). Frightmare follows with a FRIGHT CRUSHER for a near fall (R6/P3). The action goes back and forth. Green Ant dives onto all three of his opponents at ringside in a great spot. Soldier Ant with a saulting headbutt downs Black for a 1 count (R11/P6). Black takes a beating and then bails to the floor. Hallowicked is in and takes the battle to Solider Ant leading to a running boot to the face for a 1 count (R9/P3). Fire Ant turns things around when Soldier Ant goes to the floor and connects with a reverse TKO on Hallowicked. THE ANT HILL on Hallowicked but Frightmare brakes the cover. Green Ant then traps Hallowicked in a CLOVERLEAF for the submission (R2/P5).
Brodie Lee v. Eddie Kingston A battle of brawlers is next. Brodie gets the advantage after a wicked superkick. A Brodie Bomb gets a 1 count (R5/P1). There is a great exchange of counters ending where Kingston ducks Lee’s clothesline and connects with a lariat. Later, both men go for a clothesline and collide together. Kingston is up first and hits the BACKFIST TO THE FUTURE for a 1 count (R11/P5). It goes back and forth with both men trading blows. The action spills to the floor and Kingston takes out the official in an effort to get at Lee. The referee calls for the disqualification and the fight continues to the back with the fans cheering each blow. Mike Quackenbush & Jigsaw v. Swiss Money Connection (Ares & Claudio Castagnoli) Lucha rules are in affect for this one. The Europeans dominate the bout from the outset cutting off Quackenbush for some time. Quackenbush is eventually able to get the tag to Jigsaw but the momentum does not really change. Castagnoli is the MVP of the action. A gut wrench German Suplex by Castagnoli on Jigsaw leads to the first near fall (R8/P3). RICOLA BOMB. Quackenbush makes the save and rolls Jigsaw to the floor. The crowd is on fire as Quackenbush uses a the Chikara Special twice to weaken Castagnoli. A dropkick sends Castagnoli to the floor and Lightening Mike hits a suicide plancha onto both members of Swiss Money Connection at ringside! QUACKENDRIVER II for a 1 count (R11/P3). Quackenbush hits the move again. 1, 2, kick out (R5/P4). Quackenbush sends Castagnoli to the floor and dives out after him changing up the competitors in the ring. Ares overpowers his masked opponent but then telegraphs a backdrop allowing Jigsaw to counter with a piledriver. Leap of Faith gets a 1 count (R10/P4). JIG ‘N’ TONIC. Castagnoli makes the save. Quackenbush is in with a QUACKENDRIVER II. 1, 2, Castagnoli is stopped by Jigsaw, 3 (R5/P6).

The director of competition of Great Lakes Pro Wrestling has announced that the promotion is going to determine their first ever singles champion in the coming cards. Twelve wrestlers have been invited to compete in the tournament for the title. The wrestlers have been divided into two blocks in a round-robin tournament. Each win is worth two points and a draw is worth one point. The top wrestler from each block will then face off to determine the first champion.
Block A consists of Sara Del Rey, Mike Quackenbush, El Generico, Ophidian, Claudio Castagnoli and Icarus
Block B consists of Jigsaw, Eddie Kingston, Brodie Lee, Bryan Danielson, Fire Ant and Ultramantis Black
The director has also announced that the first ever tag team champions will also be determined by a round-robin tournament. The participating teams are as follow: Team FIST, Incoherence, Throwbacks, Colony, Ares & Tursas, Delirious & Daze Hazee.
The action gets underway this weekend with a double shot of Great Lakes action.

The Director of Competition has released the match list for this weekend’s Great Lake Action. Tomorrow night, Great Lakes Pro Wrestling comes to the General Motors Centre in Oshawa for a solid night of action featuring the following contents
Block A Mike Quackenbush v. Sara Del Rey El Generico v. Icarus Ophidian v. Claudio Castagnoli
Block B Eddie Kingstong v. Jigsaw Brodie Lee v. Ultramatis Black Bryan Danielson v. Fire Ant
Tag Team Block Team Fist v. Incoherence Throwbacks v. Delirious & Haze Colony v. Ares & Tursas
Then on Sunday, Great Lakes comes to the WFCU Centre in Windsor and will feature the following match ups.

Card 2 - Great Lakes Pro Wrestling @ General Motors Centre, Oshawa, Ontario “The Quest For Excellence Begins”
Block A Match: Claudio Castagnoli v. Ophidian Ophidian tries to get his much larger opponent on the mat early on but Castagnoli counters with a chokeslam followed by a bicycle kick for a 1 count (R10/P1). Castagnoli hammers on Ophidian with upper cuts, suplexes and kicks. A second bicycle kick gets a 1 count (R6/P2) and a third one gets a 2 count (R6/P3). Castagnoli weakens Ophidian with an Inverted Chikara Special and then crushes him into the mat with a gut wrench German suplex for a 1 count (R10/P4). A diving European uppercut spills Ophidian to the floor and Castagnoli comes out after him. Ophidian drops Castagnoli with a low blow and is disqualified.
Block B Match: Brodie Lee v. Ultramantis Black Despite Brodie’s size advantage the match is very even from the outset. Black reverses a whip into the ring post and then gets the first near fall with a Cosmic Disaster (R10/P4). Rites of Spring leads to another 1 count (R7/P5). Brodie gets the advantage on the floor and then immediately strikes with a BIG BOOT for a near fall of his own (R6/P3). A second BIG BOOT gets a 2 count (R6/P4) and Brodie just keeps coming hitting a third consecutive BIG BOOT for the win (R6/P5)
Tag Team Block Match: Delirious & Daizee Haze v. Throwbacks (Dasher Hatfield & Sugar Dunkerton) The Throwbacks always put smiles on the fans faces and ringside is in the mood to have some fun. Great pace early on in this one. Dunkerton backdrops Delirious outside and Haze enters the action and dominates with a spin kick, bridging German and a missile dropkick for a 1 count (R12/P4). Haze connects with a deathjump clothesline before Delirious tags in with a PRAYING MANTIS BOMB. Haze blocks Hatfield but Dunkerton kicks out of the cover (R10/P6). Dunkerton is able to catch Delirious on the top of the corner and tosses him to the mat. Hatfield tries to end it with a GRANDSLAM but Delirious kicks out (R7/P4). Both teams switch up under Lucha tag rules and Dunkerton hits AIR DUNKERTON on Haze for a 2 count (R7/P5). Haze catches Dunkerton climbing the corner and tosses him to the mat. A couple of more tags and Delirious is cut off from his corner. Dunkerton with a deathjump clothesline before the Throwbacks team up for the GRANDSLAM DUNK but Haze makes the save. The Throwbacks hit a second GRANDSLAM DUNK. Hatfield blocks Haze and Dunkerton hooks the leg for the three count (R6/P8). Block B Match: Bryan Danielson v. Fire Ant Handshake gets things going. Fire Ant is in complete control of this one from the outset with a series of short-arm scissors. A reverse TKO sends Danielson to the floor. Ant is out after him and runs Danielson into the rails head first to earn a disqualification. The fans hate the call but Danielson has two points despite being outclassed in this one
Tag Block Match: Incoherence (Frightmare & Hallowicked) v. Team FIST (Chuck Taylor & Johnny Gargano) The fans are all over Team FIST before the bell. Incoherence looks impressive early on against Gargano but Gargano is able to catch Hallowicked on the top buckle and tosses him to the mat. Taylor is in with a Cross Crab but Hallowicked is able to counter (R7/P4). Both teams make frequent tags. Team FIST gets some double teaming in against Hallowicked drawing great heat. The end comes when Hallowicked gets the advantage against Gargano and hits back to back Rydeen Bombs for the pin (R4/P4). It looks like Gargano may have kicked out at the last second but the referee’s decision stands. Block A Match: El Generico v. Icarus Another member of Team FIST was out next and Icarus draws solid heat from ringside. Monster pop for El Generico as he comes to the ring. Generico thrills the fans early on with a string of impressive offense. Icarus slows things down and uses a figure four leglock (ch) for an attempted submission (R11/P2). It goes back and forth but Icarus seems to hold the slight advantage. A Pedigree gets Icarus a 1 count (R7/P3). Generico survives the WINGS OF ICARUS (R7/P4) and then again (R7/P5). Icarus is clearly frustrated and tosses Generico to the floor. Icarus comes outside and hits the WINGS OF ICARUS on the floor! Generico cannot recover and is counted out of the ring.
Block A Match: Sara Del Rey v. Mike Quackenbush The fans a buzzing during the introductions for this one. Handshake gets the action underway and the fans show their appreciation. There is an awesome exchange early on where both competitor catch each other on the top of the corner and toss each other to the mat in back to back spots. Quackenbush hits Jig ‘n’ Tonic for a 1 count (R7/P2). QUACKENDRIVER III gets a 2 count (R5/P4). Quackenbush keeps on his opponent with a Quackendriver for another near fall (R8/P5). QUACKENDRIVER II ends it (R5/P6). No real challenge for Quackenbush tonight.
Tag Block Match: The Colony (Green Ant & Solider Ant) v. Ares & Turas Tursas outweighs the combined weight of his opponents. The Colony is able to use their speed to counter their opponent’s power advantage. Tandem diving stomps on Tursas gets a one count (R8/P1). TKO only gets a 2 count (R6/P3). The momentum evens out and both teams make a series of tags until Tursas is in again against Solider Ant. Tursas hits a wicked looking Black Hole Slam for a 2 count (R6/P3). Once again the action goes back and forth with no clear advantage until Green Ant gets the edge on the mat against Ares. Green Ant pulls out a full nelson suplex (ch) for a near fall (R6/P4). Ares is in trouble as Ant keeps coming with a big headbutt and a second full nelson suplex. Ares is able to make a tag and Tursas charges Green Ant with a Great Lariat and quickly covers his opponent for the win (R2/P2). Block B Match: Eddie Kingston v. Jigsaw These two trained and broke in to the sport together so they know each other well. Great ovation for both men from the crowd and we get things started with a handshake. Kingston backdrops Jigsaw to the floor in the opening moments of the match. Jigsaw regains the ring and Kingston strikes immediately with BACKFIST TO THE FUTURE for a 2 count (R7/P4). Kingston hits a second for another 2 (R7/P5) and following with a SLIDING D but cannot get the win (R8/P6). Kingston is frustrated and attempts a backdrop but Jigsaw is able to counter with a piledriver. The action goes to the floor and Kingston is whipped into the rails. Back inside, Kingston counters a snap suplex and connects with a full nelson suplex (ch). Kingston works over Jigsaw at ringside with chops and then hits a BACKFIST TO THE FUTURE in the middle of the ring. 1, 2, kick out (R9/P7). Kingston cannot believe it. The fans cannot believe it. Kingston mounts the corner for a deathjump cross body block that shocks just about everyone. Jigsaw kicks out at 2 again (R9/P7)! Kingston mounts the corner for another deathjump but this time Jigsaw rolls clear of the impact. Jigsaw hooks the leg for 1 (R9/P1). Jigsaw hits a deathjump stomp and then finishes the comeback with JIG ‘N’ TONIC (R4/P4). The fans are roaring. A handshake ends the contest.

Card 3 - Great Lakes Pro Wrestling @ WFCU Centre, Windsor, Ontario “The Quest For Excellence Continues”
Block B Match: Eddie Kingston v. Fire Ant Kingston was looking to rebound after dropping his first round match last card in an epic main event showdown with Jigsaw. The action opens with a chop battle and the fans are into the bout right away. Kingston gets the edge and covers for a 1 count (R10/P4). Deathjump smash sets up a SLIDING D and Kingston has his two points.
Tag Block Match: Team Fist (Chuck Taylor & Johnny Gargano) v. Delirious & Dazee Haze The fans are all over Taylor and Gargano who give it back to ringside. Delirious opens against Gargano and both men go for a clothesline early on and collide in the middle of the ring. Delirious is up first and scores with PRAYING MANTIS BOMB hooking the leg for the shocking three count. (R4/P4). Gargano and Taylor cannot believe as they have back to back losses to open the tournament and could very well be out of the running already.
Black A Match: El Generico v. Ophidian The fans are chanting for Generico as he storms ringside. The pace is very quick to start off with. Generico backdrops Ophidian to the floor and then dives out after him. Both men brawl around ringside and Ophidian pulls the official into the path of Generico’s moonsault off the apron. The official is down but still manages to call for the disqualification. Ophidian is announced as the winner and the fans are not pleased. Block A Match: Sara Del Rey v. Icarus We get a solid queen of wrestling chant at the opening bell. Icarus tells the fans to shut their mouths making Del Rey an instance hero. Icarus catches Del Rey with a slingshot in the corner in the opening moments but cannot get the quick win after WINGS OF ICARUS (R7/P2). Icarus immediately following with a sick looking BLU-RAY for the win (R2/P4). Tag Block Match: The Colony (Solider Ant & Green Ant) v. The Throwbacks (Dasher Hatfield & Sugar Dunkerton) The fans love both of these teams and the reaction is split down the middle from ringside. Handshakes all around. The match is very even from the opening bell with all four men seeing action. Dunkerton stuns Soldier Ant with a running slingshot in the corner and The Throwbacks capitalize with a GRANDSLAM DUNK for their second win in the tournament (R4/P5).
Group B Match: Jigsaw v. Ultramantis Black The fans are once again split during the introductions but are treated to super quick exchanges and counters at the outset of this one. Jigsaw connects with a jumping enzuigir for a 1 count (R10/P3) and follows with a Leap of Faith to capture another 2 points in the tournament (R3/P4).
Tag Team Block Match: Tursas & Ares v. Incoherence (Hallowicked & Frightmare) Once again Tursas has a massif size advantage. Ares looks impressive against Hallowicked early on and the fans are not pleased. Hallowicked kicks out after a DOOMSDAY UPPERCUT (R8/P6). Tursas nearly put Hallowicked through the ring apron with a Kreuz Bomb and then hooks the leg. 1, 2, Ares blocks Frightmare, 3 (R4/P6). The Bruderschaft Des Kreuzes team looks nearly unstoppable.
Group B Match: Brian Danielson v. Brodie Lee The technical specialist against the brawler. Danielson gets in too close to Lee early and the big man makes him pay in and out of the ring. Danielson shows some resilience and catches Lee charging into the corner with an elbow to the face. It is cat and mouse with Danielson avoiding much of his larger opponent’s offense. Lee runs Danielson head first into the ring side rails and that is the beginning of the end. Back inside, Lee crushes the American Dragon with back to back Brodie Bombs and then gets the 3 count (R2/P2). The dragon is stopped by cats eyes.
Group A Match: Mike Quackenbush v. Claudio Castagnoli The crowd is buzzing for this one. The winner has to be favoured to win Group A. It is all about Quackenbush’s speed early on which he uses to avoid Castagnoli’s offense and strike with some of his own. Chain Lightening sets up a QUACKENDRIVER II for a 1 count (R9/P2). Quackenbush takes flight with a deathjump and a deathjump cross body block for a 1 count (R9/P3). A Quackendriver drives Castagnoli to the mat again and gets another 1 count (R10/P5). Another Quackendriver follows and then Quackenbush tosses Castagnoli to the floor. Lightning Mike comes over the top onto his opponent and the crowd explodes. Back inside, Castagnoli goes into the ropes and rebounds with a perfect flying tackle. A chokeslam plants Quackenbush for a deathjump but Quackenbush rolls clear and Castagnoli crashes to the mat. Quackenbush has Castagnoli beat but Ares and Tursas come to ringside. Tursas distracts the referee and Ares takes out Quackenbush with a TIGER DRIVER. Castagnoli makes the cover as the referee returns his attention to the action in the ring. Quackenbush kicks out (R10/P3)! The fans are on their feet. Castagnoli strikes with a RICOLA BOMB. 1, 2, 3 (R6/P6). The fans respond with great heat to end the night.

Card 4 - Great Lakes Pro Wrestling @ Powerade Centre, Brampton, Ontario “Hard Road”
Block A Match: Icarus v. Ophidian The pace is really quick to get things going in Brampton. Icarus gets the first near fall when he avoids a charge to the corner and rolls up Ophidian for 2 (R7/P1). Ophidian hits Skin the Snake and then locks in a DEATH GRIP but Icarus escapes (R9/P3). Ophidian weakens Icarus with another Death Grip before the action evens out. The action goes to the floor and a frustrated Icarus runs Ophidian into the ring post and drops his first bout of the tournament via disqualification. Icarus is not finished and plants Ophidian in the middle of the ring with a WINGS OF ICARUS drawing great heat from the fans.
Tag Team Block Match: Colony (Green Ant & Soldier Ant) v. Delirious & Daizee Haze This is really a must win bout for the Colony who have yet to gain any points in the tournament to date. Delirious looks strong early on and catches Soldier Ant with a leaping lariat and then hits a BIZZARO DRIVER for a 1 count (R10/P3). The Colony works over Delirious before he is able to tag out. The action goes back and forth for some time with plenty of tags and out of ring changes. Hazee catches Green Ant with a Heart Punch for a 2 count (R4/P2). Hazee takes flight with a deathjump smash and then finishes Green Ant with a MIND TRIP (R2/P3). The Colony is out of the running for the gold while Delirious & Hazee picked up their second straight win. Block B Match: Bryan Danielson v. Ultramantis Black Black is on the outside looking in with no points so far in the tournament. Danielson takes a quick advantage and traps Black in a CATTLE MUTILATION for a near submission in the opening moments (R7/P2). Danielson comes off the top with a deathjump cross body block for a 2 count (R7/P3). Danielson goes back to the CATTLE MUTILATION but Black is out again (R9/P4). The action goes outside and Black grabs a chair. Danielson wrestles the chair away and drives it into Black’s midsection to earn himself a disqualification loss. The fans are not pleased but Black has his first win.
Tag Team Block Match: Incoherence (Hallowicked & Frightmare) v. Throwbacks (Dashier Hatfield & Sugar Dunkerton) The Throwbacks continue to look good early on and combine for an Ally Oop on Frightmare for a 1 count (R6/P2). Sugar Dunkerton connects with an AIR DUNKERTON for a 2 count (R5/P4). Dunkerton with a deathjump crossbody block for a near fall (R7/P4). Hatfield is in and connects with a chokeslam and goes for the cover but Hallowicked makes the save starting a wild brawl. Incoherence gains control. Hallowicked is in and connects with GRAVEYARD SMASH on Hatfield for a 2 count (R5/P3). A second GRAVEYARD SMASH gives Incoherence a big comeback win and ends the Throwbacks undefeated run in the tournament. Block A Match: Claudio Castagnoli v. Sara Del Rey Castagnoli needed the assistance of his former BDK members to get by Mike Quackenbush in the previous round and now looks to continue on his the way to winning Block A. No one gave Del Rey any chance at against Castagnoli and early on the big European looks very impressive with his power attack. Del Rey brought the fans to their feet when she whipped Castagnoli into the ring post. Castagnoli bails after breaking out of a LeBell Lock and Del Rey comes out after her opponent running Castagnoli into the ring rails and earning a disqualification. Castagnoli remains undefeated and can only be stopped from winning his block by Icarus. The look on Del Rey’s face says she wants some more of Castagnoli.
Block B Match: Jigsaw v. Fire Ant The fans give both men a great ovation during the introductions and we get a handshake to start things off. Jigsaw shows why he is undefeated so far and quickly gains the upper hand. A superkick nearly takes Ant’s head off and leads to the first cover (R8/P4). Jigsaw just keeps coming. A Quackendriver I sends Ant to the floor and Jigsaw dives onto his opponent at ringside. The fans love it and Ant is nearly counted out of the ring (R7/P5). Back in the ring, it is all Jigsaw. Back to back superkicks set up JIG ‘N’ TONIC. 1, 2, 3 (R7/P6)
Tag Team Block Match: Ares & Tursas v. Team FIST (Johnny Gargano & Chuck Taylor) It is not clear who the fans dislike more. Team FIST is looking for their first win while the Europeans are undefeated so far in the tournament. Ares immediately gets control against Chuck Taylor and Tursas joins him for a DOOMSDAY UPPERCUT but Gargano makes the pin save. FIST comes back and stops Tursas with an impressive looking ankle trap/leg drop and that gets a one count (R8/P1) on the big man. The action goes back and forth but Ares once again gets the momentum back in his team’s favour. Tursas crushes Taylor with a DIVING CROSS BODY. Ares blocks Gargano but Taylor is able to kick out of the cover (R8/P5). The pace picks up with both teams making frequent tags and out of the ring switches. Taylor finally gets something going against Ares including a running senton at ringside that has the fans rocking. Back in the ring, Taylor hits an OMEGA DRIVER for a 2 ½ count (R5/P4). Team FIST then turn their attention to Tursas and battle the big man at ringside and in the ring. Gargano connects with a HURTS DONUT for a 1 count (R7/P2). A Lawn Dart sets up a second HURTS DONUT but Tursas kick out of the cover again (R7/P3). The action goes to the floor again and Tursas grabs Gargano in a power slam position at ringside and then rams him back first into the ring post. The referee calls for the disqualification. The action does not end there as Icarus joins his Team FIST allies and they go on the attack. Claudio Castagnoli arrives to even things up but not before Icarus takes out Tursas with Pedigree on the arena floor! Tursas needs the assistance of his teammates to make it to the back.
Mike Quackenbush v. El Generico Massif ovation for both men during the introductions. Handshake gets things going. Generico has struggled in the tournament but comes out on fire in this one and dominates the action in and out of the ring including a dive to the floor on a dazed Quackenbush. A 450 splash sets up a BRAINBUSTAAAHHH!!! and Generico has his first win of the tournament (R5/P5).
Brodie Lee v. Eddie Kingston The fans were not expecting too many classic wrestling holds and counters in this one. Lee plants Kingston early on with a package piledriver and Kingston slumps to the floor. Lee comes outside and things break down. The referee comes out to restore order but Lee shoves the official to the floor and continues to fight. The bell sounds and Lee has been disqualified. Lee connects with a BIG BOOT at ringside and leaves Kingston in the heap on the floor. These two have now traded disqualification wins and the fans will be looking forward to more action between these two brawlers in the near future.

No one gave Del Rey any chance at against Castagnoli Anyone who thought that Sara Del Rey didn't have a chance of beating Castagnoli would have had their eyes opened in the Block A clash between the two. The "Death Rey" can handle any assignment.

Card 5 - Great Lakes Pro Wrestling @ Harry Lumley Community Centre, Owen Sound, Ontario “On The Cusp of Greatness”
Tag Team Block Match – Team FIST (Chuck Taylor & Johnny Gargano) v. The Colony (Soldier Ant & Green Ant) A disappointing round robin tournament for these two teams who can only play the role of the spoiler from this point. Green Ant stuns Gargano in the seconds rebounding off the ropes with a perfect cross body block for a near fall (R8/P4). The Colony maintains control and Soldier Ant downs Gargano for a two count with a spinning elbow strike (R9/P5). Gargano is unable to tag and continues to take a beating. Taylor saves his partner after ANTS GO MARCHING. Team FIST is finally able to turn things around against Green Ant. A double team Assisted Ace Crusher gets a 2 ¾ count (R3/P2). Green Ant manages to make it to the ropes to escape a Cross Crab (R4/P3) by Taylor. Taylor goes back to the hold again and again to punish Green Ant and throws in a couple of nasty looking deathjumps for good measure as well. OMEGA DRIVER. Gargano blocks Soldier Ant while Taylor hooks the leg for the win (R5/P5). Block B Match: Brodie Lee v. Fire Ant Massif size difference in this one but Ant has the fans solidly behind him from the outset. There is great looking spot early on where Lee counters a high kick with a Block Hole Slam that nearly puts Ant through the ring. Lee shows some skills with a deathjump cross body for a 1 count (R8/P4) before connecting with a BIG BOOT for another near fall (R8/P5). Ant is not finished yet and reverses Lee’s whip into the ringpost. Back inside, BEACH BREAK and Ant has a 1 count (R9/P4). Ant runs Lee into the ring rails by the fans and then follows with a second BEACH BREAK in the middle of the ring. 1, 2 kick out (R9/P5). Lee is wobbly on his feet and Ant hits a third BEACH BREAK for the upset win (R2/P5). Lee has dropped two bouts in a row and may be out of the running now. Block A Match: Sara Del Rey v. Ophidian We get a solid Queen of Wrestling chant for Del Rey as the action gets underway. Del Rey takes the fight Ophidian in and out of the ring early on. Ophidian blocks a deathjump attempt with a boot to the face and then locks in the DEATH GRIP but Del Rey is not ready to submit (R6/P2). Ophidian is in control and at one point has his opponent trapped in the ropes and hammers away drawing great heat. Del Rey is able to get the best of a brawl on the floor and takes the match back inside. ROYAL BUTTERFLY for a 2 ½ count (R3/P1). Del Rey scores with a deathjump followed by a spike piledriver. ROYAL BUTTERFLY for 2 (R6/P2). Del Rey flips off the apron onto Ophidian at ringside and the masked Egyptian in nearly counted out of the ring (R7/P3). ROYAL BUTTERFLY. 1, 2, ¾ (R5/P4). Another ROYAL BUTTERFLY. Shoulder up at the last second (R6/P5). The fans cannot believe it. Ophidian is able to get back into the match including an impressive looking top rope double knee attack. Del Rey and Ophidian tear it up at ringside and Del Rey comes out on top. ROYAL BUTTERFLY. 1, 2, 3 (R4/P6). Del Rey has her first win of the tournament.
Block B Match: Eddie Kingston v. Ultramatis Black With Lee dropping his match tonight, Kingston has the opportunity to move up in his tournament block. Black has other ideas however and completely dominates the early action including a dive out to the floor the rocks the fans. Kingston is barely able to regain the ring (R4/P1). It continues to be all Black and at one point Kingston becomes tangles in the ropes and unleashes a series of headbutts that look vicious. Kingston can get nothing going in or out of the ring. Black runs Kingston into the steel rails at ringside and then connects with back to back Cosmic Disasters. Outside, Black shows his frustration by running Kingston into the rails for the fourth time in the match and this time the referee calls for the disqualification. Kingston picks up a controversial win. Black is not finished and he calls out Incoherence for a three on one beat down on Kingston in the middle of the ring that ends with a PRAYING MANTIS BOMB onto a chair. Kingston needs assistance leaving the ring.
Incoherence (Frightmare & Hallowicked) v. Dazee Haze & Delirious The fans are all over Incoherence as they make their way back to the ring for this one. Delirious takes on both members of Incoherence early on with no one really gaining an advantage. Haze tags in against Frightmare and immediately hits the MIND TRIP for a near fall (R8/P2). Delirious is back in and keeps Frightmare on the defensive with a series of deathjumps and Chemical Imbalance II. A BIZZARO DRIVER gets a 2 count (R6/P4). Haze is back in with a diving cross body block followed by a MIND TRIP but Hallowicked makes the save. Frightmare catches Hazee on the top of the corner and tosses her to the mat. Incoherence combines for a HEADLESS HORSEMAN. Frightmare covers while Hallowicked ties up Delirious. Haze kicks out (R7/P6)! Hazee catches Hallowicked climbing the corner and tosses him to the mat. MIND TRIP. 1, 2, kick out (R6/P5). Delirious is in and hits Shadows over Heck and back to back Panic Attacks for a near fall (R12/P5). Delirious lays out Hallowicked with a PRAYING MANTIS BOMB. 1, 2, Ultramantis Black interferes and breaks up the cover. The referee calls for the disqualification. It is a three on two beat down but Delirious and Hazee are able to escape their attackers without injury.
Block A Match: Mike Quackenbush v. Icarus Quackenbush takes things to the mat almost immediately and ties Icarus up in figure four leglock for a submission attempt (R10/P3). This one is all Quackenbush in and out of the ring. A dive to the floor has the fans roaring and Icarus reeling. Icarus manages to use his power to get the upper hand but a series of Chikara Specials sees Lightning Mike back in control. Quackenbush ends is with a QUACKENDRIVER III (R3/P9)
Block B Match: Bryan Danielson v. Jigsaw The fans given both of these men a solid ovation. Jigsaw has been the surprize of the block B action having not dropped a match yet. Danielson really shows his countering skills early on. The American Dragon then works over Jigsaw on the floor including a dive through the ropes to ringside. Danielson takes flight with a deathjump smash but Jigsaw rolls clear sending Danielson crashing to the mat. Jigsaw covers for two (R4/P2). Jigsaw explodes with a flurry of offense including a double foot stomp and a Quackendriver I. Jigsaw connects with a jumping enzuigiri for a 2 count (R8/P3). A Leap of Faith spills Danielson to the floor but Danielson is able to drag Jigsaw to the floor and slingshots him into the ring post shoulder first in a sick looking spot. Back in the ring Danielson attacks with CATTLE MUTILATION but Jigsaw is able to make the ropes (R8/P5). Danielson is in total control now with a crossface chicken wing followed by a diving headbutt and roundhouse kicks. Jigsaw makes it to the ropes to escape a TRIANGLE CHOKE (R8/P7). Danielson mounts the corner but somehow Jigsaw is able to knock the top rope and Danielson crashes to the mat. JIG ‘N’ TONIC. 1, 2, kick out (R10/P6). The fans are on fire. Jigsaw connects with a Quackendriver I but a double foot stomp misses and Danielson’s uppercuts give him the advantage again. CATTLE MUTILATION. Jigsaw is almost to the ropes but blacks out (R8/P8). Danielson scores a huge win and hands Jigsaw his first loss of the tournament.
Tag Team Block Match - Ares & Tursas (inj) v. Throwbacks (Sugar Dunkerton & Dasher Hatfield) The fans always seem to enjoy the antics of the Throwbacks especially the youngsters. The pace to this one is great with both teams making several tags to keep the momentum in flux. Hatfield downs Tursas with an underhanded pitch before connecting with a cross body block deathjump for a 1 count (R8/P2). Tursas backdrops Dunkerton to the floor and Ares distracts Hatfield as Tursas rams Dunkerton back first into the ring post. Dunkerton cannot recover and is counted out of the ring (R4/P4). The fans are not pleased but the Throwbacks given them something to cheer about when they brawl with Ares and Tursas back to the dressing room. The result sets up Ares & Tursas v. Dazee Haze & Delirious, the winner to be the first Tag Team Champions.
Block A Match - El Generico v. Claudio Castagnoli Castagnoli wins this one and he clinches first place in Block A. The Olè chant is alive and well in Owen Sound. The fans have really pumped up the Luchador and he takes the fight to Castagnoli both in and out of the ring. A dive onto Castagnoli on the floor has the fans on their feet. Castagnoli stumbles back into the ring and Generico is ready with a BRAINBUSTAAAHHH!!!. 1, 2, 3 (R5/P6). The fans explode. Castagnoli still has the lead in Block B but he will have to win his last match to make it to the finals.

Cool show, bookerbill. Can't wait to see how Eddie Kingston bounces back from the three on one clobbering he sustained from Mantis, Hallowicked and Frightmare.
I'm pulling for Daizee and Delirious to take down Ares and Tursas to become the first Tag Team Champions!
