While footage of his prime years on the Golden Coast are hard to come by, bits and pieces of his later year runs in Memphis and Georgia can be found online. A raspy voice with good promo skills. RIP

Don Gatson, who wrestled as Don Carson in the Gulf Coast region much of his career and formed a tag team with Fred Blassie in California, passed away last night at the age of 77. Carson was also a manager later in his career of men like Jos LeDuc, The Grapplers and the Mongolian Stomper.
In 1971, when Carson was brought back to California to gain revenge for former partner Fred Blassie, after John Tolos threw Monsel's powder in Blassie's eyes, they not only sold out the Olympic Auditorium but a number of theaters in what was either the first or second closed-circuit pro wrestling event in history.
