It is time for the historical first event in SHIMMER history! You will see the first round of the SHIMMER championship tournament.
Backstage: Amber Gertner stands with The Latina Sensation Mercedes Martinez. "I am here with Mercedes Martinez. You have the honor of being in the first tournament match in SHIMMER history. How do you feel about this tournament?"
"I think I'm the perfect wrestler to be in the first tournament match in SHIMMER. Everyone knows what I'm about. Respect. Winning. Championships. That's what I do. I win titles. Now Sara Del Rey! You are one of the best in this business. We know each other very well. I'm going to advance and win that belt. You'll just have to try and get a title shot in the future!"
Sara Del Rey then comes up face to face with Mercedes. A staredown ensues as Amber Gertner watches.
Joey Eastman is in the ring and welcomes the fans to the Eagles Club.
Four Corner Survival Match
Allison Danger vs. Lacey vs. Krissy Vaine vs. Saturyne

This is an elimination match and at the bell the four ladies paired off. Lacey went after Saturyne and Danger moved in on Vaine. Only seconds into the match Danger hit the Shimmering Warlock on Vaine for the pin.
That left three and Danger teamed with Saturyne to really work over Lacey. On the floor though Lacey got a breather and some offense, then nailed Danger with the Implant DDT. Lacey turned her attention to Saturyne but only got a two-count after another Implant DDT. The match kept going and Saturyne had the Rings of Saturyne applied on Lacey. Danger then turned on Saturyne, sending her crashing off the top rope. Lacey broke up the pin after the Shimmering Warlock. All three kept fighting but Lacey took over again on the floor and then eliminated Danger with the Implant DDT.
The final fall took more time and was back and forth, in and out of the ring. Saturyne pulled out the upset win, forcing the submission from Lacey.
Winner: Saturyne

In the ring: Amber Gertner comes in the ring. "Saturyne! You won the first match in SHIMMER history! How do you feel?
"This is just incredible. What a hard-fought match. I never stop fighting. It's gonna take a lot for anyone to beat me."
Four Corner Survival Match
Leva Bates vs. Veda Scott vs. Amber O'Neal vs. Rain

Rain and Amber O'Neal battled it out but Rain's strength was a little too much and she took over, then threw her to the floor. Rain then broke up a pin by Bates on Scott. She immediately put Scott away with the Rain Drop.
O'Neal got some offense going against Rain but Bates stopped a pin attempt. Rain used her finisher on O'Neal but another save was made. The middle fall was just epic, tons of finishers and near falls, saves, you name it. O'Neal stayed alive and beat Rain with the Amber Alert.
Bates put up an incredible fight against O'Neal. Danger came out to the entrance to watch and cheer her tag team partner. Both women were exhausted but Bates rolled O'Neal up off the ropes to win the match! Danger ran in the ring to congratulate Bates and help carry her to the back. (O'Neal 6 coins, Bates 4 coins).

Joey Eastman announced the start of the 16-woman tournament for the SHIMMER championship. It will be double elimination but the consolation rounds will be used to determine the first list of rankings, so once you lose you can not win the title at the end of the tournament.

First Round
Mercedes Martinez vs. Sara Del Rey

This is a main event anywhere in the world today. They are so evenly matched and started pounding on each other right away. The two countered and reversed moves and went toe to toe. Mercedes capitalized to hit the Fisherman Buster and win the match. The end came like that and Del Rey was shocked. Once again these two stared at each other before Del Rey made her exit, knowing she would have to wait for another time to go for that SHIMMER title.

Madison Eagles vs. Christina Von Eerie

The Punisher was all business. Von Eerie barely had any room to breath as Eagles battered her opponent. Von Eerie kicked out of the Hell Bound but Eagles never let the pressure up. Von Eerie found an opening on the outside but her offense was short-lived and very sporadic. Eagles dished out the punishment and eventually won with a Spider German suplex out of the corner.

Kellie Skater vs. Courtney Rush

The Rate Tank took control and really dominated the bout. Rush struggled to get anything going but did battle back for a two-count. Skater got back on top and the Skate or Die put Rush down for the three.

Daizee Haze vs. Jessie McKay

This one was almost over in record time. Haze was blasted by finisher after finisher from McKay but kept kicking out of the Boyfriend Stealer and the School Girl Crush. McKay just kept on bringing the offense though. Haze mustered up the fight but McKay was just too much and the Boyfriend Stealer finally ended the match (Haze 4 coins).

Cheerleader Melissa vs. Mia Yim

The heavy favorite Melissa put Yim in the Air Raid Crash early but only a two-count. Yim stormed back with the Spinning Seoul Kick and Kick Me Goodnight to nearly pull off the upset. The two fought on the outside some but Melissa got things going again and won with the Air Raid Crash.

Saraya Knight vs. Athena

Saraya Knight slowly came out to the ring, yelling and threatening all the fans at ringside. Knight then backed up the talk in the ring. Athena found nothing in the way of offense. Knight was brutal and deliberate. Athena took several moves then the Knightmare and Bridled Rocking Horse put her away in short order.
After the match Saraya didn't bother waiting for Amber Gertner and grabbed the mic from Joey Eastman. "Cheerleader Melissa! I got you next and you are in for a world of hurt!"

MsChif vs. LuFisto

Another big match in the first round between two hugely popular wrestlers and two women that very well could become the first SHIMMER champion. This was an awesome matchup, tons of fighting on the floor. MsChif took a lot of big moves as well but continually fought back. LuFisto landed the Diving Star headbutt twice and the third Mangazlier finally put MsChif down for the pin.
Winner: LuFisto

In the locker room: Amber Gertner stood with a very upset tag team, Portia Perez and Nicole Matthews the Canadian Ninjas. "This is such bull! How can they put us against each other?"
"I don't know Nicole. It's definitely a conspiracy against the Ninjas. It doesn't matter. One of us is going to win the SHIMMER title. They can't stop that from happening."

The Ninjas stalled a long time as they didn't want to wrestle but eventually they did. Matthews got things going and held control most of the way. Perez kicked out of the Vancouver Maneuver but too many stiff kicks took their toll and Matthews got the win.
