I have a friend here in Las Vegas who, along with Joey Ryan, is promoting this show (the first show my friend has ever promoted) on Friday April 19th:
Quintessential Pro Wrestling Friday, April 19th at 8pm
The Monrovia Masonic Center 204 West Foothill Blvd. Monrovia, CA 91016
Tickets are $15 at the door.
Announced matches:
1. Bad Influence (Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian) vs the Young Bucks
2. TJ Perkins vs Michael Elgin
3. Brian Kendrick vs Willie Mack
Other names who will be there in addition to Joey Ryan include Drake Younger, Pretty Peter Avalon, Ray Rosas, and the RockNES Monsters. This show is the day before Drake Younger makes his debut for FSW here in Las Vegas so my friends Ryan and Mary (who sat with me in the first row at FSW tonight) are actually driving Drake from California to Las Vegas the next morning.
Because TNA talent is being used, there won't be DVDs for this show but I have been told video recording of this show will be allowed. I am going to try to make it to the debut of Quintessential Pro Wrestling to support my friend. And I wanted to post it here to let anyone on the board from California know about this show too.

If I can make it to this show, I might get to see one of my personal favorite wrestlers Drake Younger wrestle 3 times in just 6 days:
tomorrow night at the Indy show at the Gold Coast casino as part of the CAC (LOW's Chad Olson is going too!)
Friday at QPW
Saturday for FSW at the Silverton Casino

Although at the start of the week I was not certain if I could make it, it now looks like I am indeed going to this show tomorrow in California right after I get off work! If so, I am driving my friend Alex from Las Vegas who works for PWG. I can't wait to see this show!

After work yesterday, I picked up my friend Alex and we drove to Monrovia, California for this show. I like driving to Monrovia because it is almost an hour shorter driving time then it is to Reseda for PWG shows and with alot less traffic.
It was really cool. My friend Alex helped with the show (setting up chairs, tearing down the ring, etc) and two of my other friends Ryan and Mary saved me a front row seat.
Overall there was a turnout of about 200 and my friend Alan who promoted this show told me he was relieved because he was really hoping for at least a turnout of 150. And this turnout was much bigger than the ICW anniversary show that took place in the same building. Good start for QPW!
These are the results:
1. RockNES Monsters and B-Boy defeated PPRAY and Scorpio Sky in the first match in QPW history.
2. Shad Gaspard of Cryme Tyme (replacing Brian Kendrick who could not make it due to a family emergency) defeated Willie Mack. At one point, my life flashed before my eyes when Willie Mack suddenly went right through the ropes in front of me (just like at PWG there are no guard rails) but thankfully he landed just short of my seat.
3. Candice Lerae defeated Winter (Katie Lea Burchill) who was managed by Heather Lynn. Prior to this match, Candice Lerae was incorrectly announced as weighing 185 lbs when she actually only weighs 105 lbs. ;D Candice Lerae is also an awesome baker and at the merchandise table she was selling some great cupcakes and other deserts she made before the show.
At the end of the match, Lerae was double teamed by Winter and Lynn until Joey Ryan (who feuded with Lerae in PWG) ran in to make the save. Ryan said she wanted to bury the hatchet with Lerae but when Lerae shook his hand Ryan placed her hand on his crotch. Drake Younger (Ryan's opponent that night) then ran in to save Lerae.
4. Drake Younger defeated Joey Ryan. I believe this was the first time these two had ever wrestled each other before. Prior to the match starting, Joey Ryan slapped the female ring announcer's butt. This match ended when Joey Ryan looked under the ring and grabbed a California Angels (his favorite team) sack but instead of thumbtacks the sack contained Gummi Bears which Joey Ryan dumped on the ring apron and he and Drake Younger then kept trying to throw each other on top of the Gummi Bears and both of them were trying desperately to avoid landing on the Gummi Bears which was hilarious.
The match ended when an angry Candice Lerae returned and gave Joey Ryan a BALLPLEX right on top of the Gummi Bears. Drake Younger then gave Joey Ryan DRAKE'S LANDING on top of the Gummi Bears too for the victory.
5. Brian Cage defeated Paul London via WEAPON X in a really good match. Afterward, London asked if anyone could define the word Quintessential for him.
6. TJ Perkins defeated Michael Elgin in my favorite match of the night. Alot of fans tapping the ring apron in appreciation after this match.
7. Young Bucks defeated Bad Influence (Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian) in the main event. Afterward, Bad Influence challenged the Bucks to a rematch at the next QPW show and the Bucks accepted before giving referee Rick Knox (their enemy in PWG) Early Onset Alzheimer's.
One of the 200 fans in attendance was former UFC Champion and MMA legend Josh Barnett. Barnett was awesome as he wore a yellow t-shirt of the Powers of Pain (one of my all time favorite tag teams) and said he is also a major Sonics and Seahawks fan as he also grew up in the Seattle area.
After the show, Alex spent some time with his girlfriend who lives nearby in the California area and I went back to the Courtyard Marriott hotel nearby where me, Ryan, Mary, and Drake Younger (who was riding back with Ryan and Mary the next day for the FSW show here in Las Vegas) were all staying.
In the morning, Alex's girlfriend dropped him off at the Courtyard Marriott and we drove back to Las Vegas. Tonight in Las Vegas was this month's FSW show which was highlighted by Drake Younger winning his FSW debut and Willie Mack winning a battle royal to get an unsuccessful title shot against FSW Champion Tyshaun Prince in tonight's main event. The RockNES Monsters also made their FSW debuts tonight too.
At the FSW show tonight, I sat with Ryan, Mary, and Alan who told me he is not sure when he is going to have the next QPW show but he did mention to me yesterday he wants to do a QPW show here in Las Vegas (I hope it might include Kenny King.) since QPW does use TNA talent, I am hoping, if possible, QPW might have a Las Vegas show in late June around the time TNA has its upcoming show here at the Orleans Arena. That would be awesome!

Sounds like a great time, Vegas. That main sounds killer.
I need to catch up on PWG. Everything Ive heard lately has said Younger has looked great since he moved out west.
