What do you guys think of what the WWE is doing and they way they are using Paul Bearers death? Its true the family gave them permission but they werent happy after Raw on Monday The last one I saw was this one: It's a TV-PG show, so I don't evaluate it in the same way as something designed for adults. Permission was granted by the family to use Paul Bearer as a character in the storyline. The company didn't need to even ask, it owns the rights to all of its fictional characters. A family member mentioned a difference in how the angle was presented privately, and what actually aired. The taking of creative liberties has to be expected, and I'm sure no harm or insult was intended. I suspect this entire Undertaker/C.M. Punk program sounded a lot better to the creative team on paper during the brainstorming sessions in the idea room, than it looked upon review after the actual execution. Most ideas do!

The taking of creative liberties has to be expected I couldn't agree more. I'm not at all shocked by how WWE has used Moody's death to their advantage. It makes you wonder how WWE would have gone about building for the Taker / Punk match if Moody hadn't have passed away... I guess it also goes to show you how sometimes very little long term planning goes into WrestleMania. WWE obviously wasn't locked into some elaborate storyline featuring Taker and Punk because if so they wouldn't have abandoned those plans when Moody died. They'd have used his passing to augment what they already had in place for the story rather than basing the entire WM match around Punk trying to get into Taker's head by disrespecting the dead Paul Bearer. For me, it seems as if Calloway has just had a look down the roster and seen the guy best equipped to make him look good. The streak is just getting sillier and sillier. Taker should have called it a day a year or two ago.

I'm a huge Undertaker fan, but I think last year should have been it. If not this year, WM XXX is as good a time to go as any. Let Punk or Cena end the streak and call it a day. He's had one hell of a career.

I'm a huge Undertaker fan, but I think last year should have been it. I've never been a big Undertaker mark but up until a year or two ago I was a big fan of the fact that he'd been allowed to put together his extraordinary WrestleMania streak. In lieu of the fact that he hasn't won that many WWE Championships (considering how long he's been with the company) Taker deserved the undefeated streak. Now though I feel that he's taking liberties with it. Taker has become the Brett Favre of WWE.

Taker has become the Brett Favre of WWE. That's just a little far.

Taker has become the Brett Favre of WWE. That's just a little far. If they do a "Punk took Taker to the limits and he will never be the same again" and Taker disappears until showing up on Bound for Glory, the analogy might be more appropriate.

I agree that last year should have been it. I just can't invest in this year's build with Punk. It started out lackluster and then when they threw the Paul Bearer stuff in it got real bad. With the dumping of the ashes, we've now reached WrestleCrap level.
Punk is great at what he does, but I think the office fell a little much too in love with him thinking he and Undertaker could pull this off.
The ONLY scenario which could save this is what I came up with yesterday...
Undertaker has Punk pretty much beat but Heyman goes to the back and brings Lesnar out to the ring. Lesnar completely destroys Undertaker (F5 through a table, rips his heart out of his chest and eats it, poops on him, etc. etc.) . Just as Punk is about to make the 3-count, Triple H (out of respect for Undertaker) comes out, cleans house and in the process pulls out a 9MM and shoots Punk in the head. Undertaker pins Punk and wins the match.
Hey, at least it would be entertaining.
