Hey Gang,
Just like the newly created "GWF - Back to "Basics" this new Ring of Honor fed is going to run the same way. Just basic rules and original pinfall numbers with no advanced rules coming into play. Count Outs and DQ's are out the window just like in the GWF promotion. There was one "Upset" if you want to call it that based on the pinfall ratings of both cards.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In 2001, Wrestling in the united states of america was vast with independent wrestling promotions opening up and closing down left and right it seemed. In the state of Michigan, a young man by the name of Rex Havoc wanted to bring together a wrestling promotion that was based on the wrestling style of the 70's and 80's where you believed that the two men in the ring were really fighting it out to beat the other man in the ring. A place where tag team wrestling could shine just as bright as the days gone by.
After searching around a few cities for the right place to get the ball rolling, he came across his old baseball stomping grounds in Westland Michigan, a place called the Wayne Ford Civic League. The WFCL was home to the city wide baseball league with 4 different size diamonds on the grounds and out in front a very decent sized Bingo Hall. After striking up a deal with WFCL and the city of Westland to open up a wrestling promotion in the building, Rex set out to watch hours of tapes sent to him to select the 16 men he would bring in to open the doors of his new promotion with.
Now in January 2002, 16 men will face off in a tournament to crown the promotions first ever heavyweight champion. 16 men will look to restore respect and honor to the words "Pro Wrestling" and "Champion". This is the new era of professional wrestling done right. This is RING OF HONOR WRESTLING!!!
