ProductLOW 4 Pack PDF #2LEGENDSonline - LOW 4-Pack #2C.W. Anderson Height: 6'1 Weight: 245 lbs. Raleigh, NC In BriefChris Wright was born January 7, 1971. A native of Horsemen Country (Raliegh, North Carolina) he was a coveted high school baseball prospect, who turned down a draft offer from the San Diego Padres in order to attend college. Ultimately choosing to go in a different direction, Chris entered the world of pro wrestling in late '93, breaking into the local Indy scene without any formal training. Upon his travels, two other kayfabe Anderson members (one looking to retire, the other in search of a partner) invited him 'into the family'. From that moment on, Chris used the Anderson last name, with the preceding C.W. initials standing in tribute to his birth name. In '98, Chris further honed his 'learned on the job' pro wrestling skills with training at the WCW Powerplant. A respected veteran, he has had stints in ECW, WWE and Indy promotions around the horn. ProductLEGENDSonline - VINTAGE 4-PackLOW VINTAGE 4 Pack PDFAbraham LincolnHeight: 6'4 Weight: 180 lbs. New Salem, IL In BriefAbraham Lincoln was born February 12, 1809 in Hodgenville, KY. As a tall and athletic young man, the sixteenth President of the United States is said to have competed in approximately 300 hundred wrestling matches over a 12 year period, suffering only one recorded defeat (at the hands of Hank Thompson). Most famous among his exploits was a battle with New Salem County Champion (and alleged town bully) Jack Armstrong. At age 23, Abe is said to have bravely put Armstrong in his place, not only defeating him, but knocking him into unconsciousness. During a U.S. Senate campaign debate in Illinois, opponent Stephen Douglas brought up Abe's wrestling skills in a passing comment. Newspapers covering the exchange ran with the story, which would grow into a recurring media theme as Abe's political star rose. Mention of Lincoln's wrestling days gained even more press upon his running for and winning the Presidency. After Abe's assassination in 1865, the legend of his status as a 'great wrestler' grew even stronger, and can even be seen today through various forms of American pop culture (ie. this card from Filsinger Games ). Whether largely real, romanticized or a little of both, The Honest One's exploits as a proud competitor and humble sportsman are forever enshrined in the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. Online MediaNational Wrestling Hall of Fame Honoree: Abraham LincolnCourtesy of Sports Illustrated The Civil Warrior On the U.S. frontier, young Abe Lincoln was a great wrestler—and sportsman David Fleming American Culture: Commercial featuring 'Wrestling' Abraham Lincoln Abraham Lincoln: The Card 31 (31)Abraham Lincoln clocks in with a 31 (31) on the Rahl Rating scale. Razor sharp offense hits a slight bump early on L30, but a potent finisher makes for a favorable trade off. A mighty fine L1D & LD2 segue smoothly into clutch. While this proud patriot stands as a man without any tag skills, his blue ribbon attributes will leave admirers of the Great Emancipator smiling from ear to ear. Misc. ProductLEGENDSonline - VINTAGE 4-PackLOW VINTAGE 4 Pack PDFEvan "Strangler" LewisHeight: 5'9 Weight: 180 lbs. Ridgeway, WI In BriefEvan Lewis was born on May 24, 1860 in Ridgeway, Wisconsin. He began wrestling at age 22, quickly making a name for himself in both Catch as Catch Can (which allowed holds above and below the waist) and Cornish-style (a jacketed form of grappling which did not allow holds below the waist). Lewis was a near instant success (especially under Catch rules) and by 1887 he had unified the World Catch and American Greco Roman titles. Often times a champion or top challenger, his rivals included Matsada Sorakichi (who he injured with an ankle lock), William Muldoon (who he defeated in a best two out of three falls match) Tom Cannon (who couldn't continue a multiple falls match due to the effects of the Stranglehold), Joe Acton (who once defeated Lewis in a match strongly rumored to have been worked, with Lewis winning the rematch) Tom Connors (who defeated Lewis for a championship), Ernest Roeber (a Greco-Roman Champion) and Martin “Farmer” Burns (who ended Lewis' final run as a Catch World Champion in 1894). The Strangler nickname references his use of a neck yoke that was taught to him by Frank Whitmore. The feared hold put pressure on the carotid artery, and at times caused opponents to completely pass out. In addition to working the circuit, Lewis engaged in boxer vs wrestler matches, garnering a reputation as one of the most feared and famous figures in 19th Century sports. By 1899, Evan transitioned into a trainers role, most notably mentoring future American Champion Fred Beell. He passed away on November 3, 1919 at age 59. A peak to trough defense recovers well, as an impressive L3D sports a main event level pin rating and only one down - 3. Cool hand attributes and dead man's tag skills are seen at the close. Misc. Info*This card has a post match even/odd 1d6 finisher mechanic, which can result in an injury and subsequent 1d6 roll for duration

ProductLEGENDSonline - VINTAGE 4-PackLOW VINTAGE 4 Pack PDFHenry IrslingerHeight: 5'9 Weight: 158 lbs. Atlantic City, NJ In BriefHenri Irslinger was born March 23, 1888 in Vienna, Austria. An ambitious young man, he is said to have emigrated to England, and later the U.S., earning fame for his wrestling exploits. Often a champion, his famous rivals included Mitsuyo Maeda (a high-level Japanese Judoka, who brought the martial art to Brazil and introduced it to the Gracie Family), Bert Assirati (feared catch ripper), Carl Van Wurden (legend from Canada) and Ernest Kartje (renowned in the Chicago area). In addition to competeting in the squared circle, Henry would find later success as a promoter. Alongside Benny Sherman and Sir Atholl Oakley, Irslinger was instrumental in changing the dominant style of UK wrestling from Greco-Roman rules toward a more crowd pleasing and theatrical style. He was the first man to pro wrestling at New St James's Hall, and pioneered the birth of the spectacle in South Africa through his All-In Wrestling venture. As with most industry bubbles, pro wrestling's commercial success would eventually lead to controversy and excess. As more fly by nights arose to meet public demand, a political backlash developed in the U.K. over the low brow atmosphere (ie. mud wrestling, chairshots, inter-gender matches) associated with the boom. As it did throughout the United Kingdom, the London County Council yanked the Johannesburg license in 1938, effectively killing pro wrestling as a 'legal sporting event'. While the spectacle revived a bit after World War II, Irslinger's promotional ventures failed to regain its peak. An acclaimed competitor and standout promoter, Henry succumbed to cancer on October 1, 1954 at age 66. Online MediaAll-In Wrestling: Pre War Wrestling 1930-1940Headlocks and Handbags. Offense feels the thunder roll on L30 with dual finisher designations. In a reversal of fortunes, defense sees the bottom fall out with the dreaded L2D down - 3 and a poor man's pin rating. Attributes that bark with little bite, in combination with dead man's tag skills, leaves this vintage legend standing umbrellaless in the cold hard rain. Misc. ProductLEGENDSonline - VINTAGE 4-PackLOW VINTAGE 4 Pack PDFMildred BurkeHeight: 5'2 Weight: 138 lbs. Coffeyville, Kansas In BriefMildred Bliss was born August 5, 1915 in Coffeyville, Kansas. She broke into the business in 1934, working the carnival circuit under the promotion of her trainer/husband Billy Wolfe. A year later, she defeated Clara Mortensen for a version of the World Women's championship, an honor she would hold for the next 19 years straight. In addition to defending her title, she routinely performed in inter-gender matches (which she usually won). Mildred's in ring rivals included Jill Hill, Ruth Boatcallie, Bonnie Watson, Millie Stafford and June Byers. At her peak she attained a level of mainstream celebrity, which at the time was a rare feat for any female athlete. Upon divorcing from Wolfe in '52, Burke's career nosedived as she was undercut on the promotional end. She made a go of running her own operation before retiring from the ring in 1956. For the remainder of her life, she would go on to train many future stars, including Betty Franco, Cheryl Day, Desiree Petersen, Gail Gardner, Rhonda Singh and Susan Sexton. Mildred passed away on February 18, 1989 at age 73. She is widely regarded as an iconic figure, who stands among the biggest female stars in the history of the industry.
