I'm not too crazy about the update that was made to the Filsinger Game ProBoards Discussion Board. It seems as though ProBoards has removed the option to display the printable version of individual threads, which I always found useful when I wanted to print the entire thread without having to print off the clickable ads and extraneous stuff. What are your thoughts on the updates made to this board?

What are your thoughts on the updates made to this board? I'm not a huge fan of the current incarnation of v5, but I'm hopeful options will improve for users over time. The main catalyst behind the new system was to protect/benefit the interests of Proboards itself (which is understandable). Removing previously popular features (like spellchecker and the print feature you referenced) frees up their servers, and over time that pays a huge dividend for the company. Other changes had to do with meeting the standards set by differing international interpretations of online privacy law, and streamlining features that drive revenue. It is a work in progress. |
