YEAR EIGHT, CARD NO. 22
Bithloplex
The BCW world tag-team champions Road Warrior Animal and Paul Ellering d. S+S when Animal hit his POWER SLAM on George South. Ellering saw a lot of action in the match, but S+S – actually, South, since Larry Sharpe never got to tag in – were resilient, and Animal and Ellering weren’t always smooth in working together, but they got the victory ahead of War Games and the hoped-for return of Road Warrior Hawk.
D’Lo Brown d. Boris Zhukov by DQ when Zhukov used his flagpole to belt Brown while both were outside the ring. Zhukov attacked before the bell and kept control of the match early, but Brown eventually took over and generated some offense before both men ended up outside the ring.
Diamond Dallas Page came to ringside, grabbed a mic and called out Maurice Tillet, saying, “We aren’t done yet, you French freak!” Tillet came to the ring in response.
Diamond Dallas Page and the “French Angel” Maurice Tillet battled to a double DQ outside the ring as their brawl escalated and officials had to separate them. There was only one pin attempt (on Tillet) as the two men spent most of their time in the ring pummeling one another.
In a partial rematch of their War Games qualifying bout, Mil Mascaras (w/ Chris Candido) d. Magnum TA (w/ Jimmy Snuka) when Mascaras pinned Magnum after a CROSSBODY ATTACK. Afterward, the pair reluctantly shook hands, given the fact that Snuka and Magnum will be wrestling for their BCW careers at Invasion due to Mascaras and Candido.
In a nontitle match, Rob Van Dam (w/ Sabu, Bill Alfonso) d. U.S. heavyweight champion Ivan Koloff (w/ Boris Zhukov) by DQ when Van Dam was ready to hit a FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH on a prone Koloff, only to be hit with a flagpole by Zhukov. Koloff had controlled the first part of the match, even using his chain on Van Dam, but then Van Dam rallied, hit a Van Daminator (unseen by a distracted ref) and was going for the pin when he was attacked. After the DQ, officials had to separate the two sides.
The Naptown Dragons’s Dustin Lee and Scotty Vortekz came out, grabbed a mic and said: “We’ve had enough of the taunting by the Kings of Wrestling. Let’s see them prove their greatness in the ring – against us!” The Kings of Wrestling came to ringside, followed by a worried-looking Sir Oliver Humperdink.
The Kings of Wrestling d. the Naptown Dragons by DQ when Dustin Lee grabbed Sir Oliver Humperdink’s cane and whacked Chris Hero across the face when both men were outside the ring. Both sides had the advantage during different points of the match, but there was no real resolution of the feud between the two House of Humperdink tag teams.
In a wild War Games qualifying match, Yukon Eric (w/ Danny Hodge) d. the Sheik (w/ Abdullah Farouk) by DQ when the Sheik tried to fling a surprise FIREBALL in the face of Yukon Eric and then used a sharp object on Yukon Eric’s face when both men were outside the ring, at which point the referee had seen enough. The Sheik, who will wrestle for his BCW career at Invasion/War Games, looked around with apparent glee as Hodge helped his tag-team partner to the back.
In a nontitle match, BCW world heavyweight champion Lou Thesz d. the One Man Gang using his THESZ PRESS. One Man Gang attacked Thesz before the bell, but once Thesz recovered, the match was basically even until Thesz finally took control and got the pin.

YEAR EIGHT, CARD NO. 23
Volusia County Fairgrounds
Bryan Danielson, in his return from injury, d. Johnny Rodz using his CATTLE MUTILATION finisher. Danielson appeared a bit rusty and had a lot of problems before he was able to subdue Rodz.
“Elegant” Eddie Fyne came out with Sam Hayne, took a mic and announced: “Invasion/War Games might be our last night with BCW. I doubt it, but if it is, then I want to make sure we get one more chance to defeat that blowhard, Diamond Dallas Page, the one who put us in this position!” Down to ringside came Diamond Dallas Page to answer the challenge.
Diamond Dallas Page d. Sam Hayne (w/ “Elegant” Eddie Fyne) when he connected on is DIAMOND CUTTER for the win. Page was aggressive from the outset, giving Hayne little chance to gain control of the match. Afterward, he grabbed a mic, pointed at Fyne and said, “Good luck at Invasion – you’re going to need it!”
The Oilmen d. the Million Dollar team of Terry Gordy and John Pesek when Danny Hodge used his OKLAHOMA SIDE ROLL to pin Pesek. The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase appeared near the end of the match and was frustrated by the turn of events and the fact that Andre the Giant wouldn’t return from suspension until after the Invasion/War Games PPV.
Commissioner Chad came to ringside, grabbed a mic and called out Sir Oliver Humperdink. He said: “Once again, this is your lucky day, Sir Oliver. I’ve set up a number of high-profile matches for your House tonight. The first one is next: U.S. heavyweight champion Ivan Koloff versus Chris Hero in a nontitle match!”
U.S. heavyweight champion Ivan Koloff (w/ Boris Zhukov) d. Chris Hero (w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink) in a solid, back-and-forth nontitle match when Koloff hit a leg drop, then followed it up with a RUSSIAN BEARHUG to get the victory. The match had been pretty even up to the finish.
In a clash of big men, Bruiser Brody d. One Man Gang when he hit a second JUMPING KNEE DROP. The two behemoths rattled the ring and also spent a decent amount of time outside it before Brody, who will be wrestling for his BCW career at Invasion, got the victory.
Jimmy Snuka and Magnum TA and the BCW world tag-team champions Animal and Paul Ellering battled to a double DQ when both Snuka and Animal engaged in a long brawl outside the ring. Animal took exception to Snuka pummeling Ellering during his time in the ring, and when he finally got back in, the brawl was on. Both teams were looking to prepare for the upcoming PPV, while the main question remained: Would Hawk be back in time for the Road Warriors.
Commissioner Chad came back out with Sir Oliver Humperdink and said, “Sir Oliver, you are still a lucky man. Your Naptown Dragons have a chance to qualify for Invasion/War Games as a member of Team BCW, since the Road Warriors moved from qualifier to automatic bid when they won the BCW tag-team titles. The only thing they have to do is beat RVD and Sabu!"
Rob Van Dam and Sabu (w/ Bill Alfonso) qualified for War Games by d. the Naptown Dragons (w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink) when Sabu got the pin after connecting on an Air Sabu against Scotty Vortekz. Dustin Lee controlled the first part of the match against Sabu, but Sabu was finally able to rally and tag in Van Dam. The momentum shifted greatly at that point, and eventually led to the finish.
The commissioner, still at ringside, took a mic and said, “Well, Sir Oliver, it’s been a tough night for your House, but you have one more chance: A nontitle match for Claudio Castagnoli against the world heavyweight champion, Lou Thesz!”
BCW world heavyweight champion LouThesz d. Claudio Castagnoli (w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink) in a nontitle match when he used a GRECO-ROMAN BACKDROP to get the pin. Castagnoli did well, staying in the match a long time against Thesz, but in the end the champion’s offense was too much, as he seemed ready for the challenge of War Games.

CARD No. 24 – Invasion/War Games PPV – Omni, Atlanta
Commissioner Chad came out and welcomed everyone to the Invasion/War Games event. He said the first part of the event would feature wrestlers looking to continue their careers in BCW while their opponents were seeking places on the BCW roster. He finished by saying, “With that, let the matches begin!”
“The French Angel” Maurice Tillet remained in BCW by d. Les Thatcher when he caught Thatcher in his BEAR HUG finisher. Thatcher was a game competitor and gave Tillet all he could handle, but the French Angel got the victory.
“Superstar” Bill Dundee d. Sam Hayne (w/ “Elegant” Eddie Fyne”) via his SUPERSTAR BOMB to join BCW. The match was a long one, with lots of momentum shifts, but Dundee mostly had the upper hand and was able to get the job done.
The Masked Superstars d. Al Snow and D’Lo Brown to join BCW when Masked Superstar I got Snow in a sleeper and Brown was reluctant to enter the ring to break it up after seeing Masked Superstar II point at him. The former BCW tag-team champions exited the fed to the applause of the fans.

Jimmy Snuka and Magnum TA d. Brian Kendrick and Paul London after Snuka caught Kendrick with a leap frog and chop and got the pin. The match was really fast and furious, with both sides tagging in and out quickly, and Snuka even missing a SUPERFLY LEAP at one point.
Commissioner Chad came back out and said it was time for War Games among the teams from BCW, AWA, FSW and BWF. In the first round, he said one wrestler and one tag team from each federation would be chosen by lot to wrestle, and then the next round would be those wrestlers from each fed who were not holding titles competing in an over-the-top 20-man elimination match. The the titleholders would compete. With that, he said, “Let the War Games begin!”

AWA tag-team champions the Ortons d. BWF tag-team champions Pretty Wonderful in a great match when Cowboy Bob Orton used Paul Orondorff’s own finisher, the piledriver, against him to win the match. BWF 35, AWA 20, FSW 15, BCW 5
The BCW tag-team champions the Road Warriors (w/ Paul Ellering) d. the FSW tag-team champions the Young Bucks when Matt Jackson fell victim to the DOOMSDAY DEVICE. BWF 35, AWA 20, BCW 20, FSW 15
Down comes the cage!
World heavyweight champions (20 points each)
BWF world heavyweight champion Lex Lugar d. FSW world heavyweight champion Delirious when he caught Delirious in his HUMAN TORTURE RACK. Delirious’ agility made it difficult for Lugar to gain much momentum during the long match, but he finally caught Delirious and made him pay.

BCW world heavyweight champion Lou Thesz d. AWA world heavyweight champion “Dr. Death” Steve Williams when he hit his THESZ PRESS and got the pin. Thesz’s agility advantage proved to be the different when he hit a side salto and parlayed that into a run of his finishers.

Tag-team champions final (20 points)
The BCW tag-team champions the Road Warriors (w/ Paul Ellering) d. the AWA tag-team champions the Ortons when they executed a DOOMSDAY DEVICE on Bob Orton Sr. The Ortons did a good job of fending off the Road Warriors for a time, but then finally succumbed to their power.

YEAR EIGHT, CARD NO. 25
Alexander Memorial Coliseum, Atlanta
Commissioner Chad came out and announced that the Tampa Tournament was right around the bend, and the 32-man competition for a shot at the BCW world heavyweight championship (and U.S heavyweight championship) would be a fierce one.
He then called out Andre the Giant and the “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase. He told Andre that his suspension was over, but one more violation and he was gone from BCW! Also, because Andre was still on “probation,” he would not be competing for titles for a while, so that meant he would not be eligible for the Tampa Tournament. Both Andre and DiBiase threw fits, but the commissioner simply left ringside.
Tiger Mask made his debut in BCW by d. Johnny Rodz when he connected on his TIGER SUPLEX finisher. Tiger Mask showed an array of offensive moves, but Rodz hung tough for a while before succumbing.
Boris Zhukov came out and called out Danny Hodge, saying: “You think I have forgotten about you hitting a man with his own chain? You are a disgrace for America, Hodge, and you deserve to be taught a lesson with a severe beating!” Hodge came to ringside to answer the threat.
Boris Zhukov d. Danny Hodge when he hit his DIVING HEAD BUTT on Hodge. The pair had a scrappy match back and forth, but at a key point of the match, U.S. heavyweight champion Ivan Koloff arrived at ringside and looked to threaten Hodge with his chain. That distracted Hodge enough that Zhukov took advantage and eventually got the pin.
Afterward, as Hodge was on the canvas, Zhukov stood over him waving the old Soviet flag. That brought Hodge’s tag-team partner, Yukon Eric, to ringside, and a round of pushing and shoving occurred. Commissioner Chad was also at ringside, and after Koloff yelled at Yukon Eric, “You are nothing to me!” the commissioner replied, “Oh, he’s something, all right. He’s your opponent for the U.S. heavyweight title, tonight!” The fans cheered the announcement and changed, “USA, USA!”
The Masked Superstars made their debut in BCW a successful one, d. Mil Mascaras and Chris Candido when Masked Superstar II used his BACKBREAKER finisher to subdue Mascaras and get the pin. Masked Superstar I jumped Mascaras before the bell rang, and the pin made sure Candido never tagged in.
Terry Gordy and One Man Gang d. the Naptown Dragons (w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink) when Gordy pinned Scotty Vortekz after a back suplex. The Dragons made a good account of themselves, but ultimately they couldn’t match the power of the two behemoths.
Bill Apter’s “Hot Seat” featured newcomer “Superstar” Bill Dundee. Dundee said he was happy to be in BCW and looked forward to the challenge of chasing a world title. When Apter asked if Dundee was sure a world title was a realistic goal for him given his “smaller size,” Dundee said, “Why not? If someone like Bryan Danielson or Chris Candido can be successful here, certainly I can!” That brought out Candido and Tammy, with Candido saying, “Look, buddy, I hope you’re willing to work your tail off, because that’s what I’ve done to stay here!’ Dundee just smiled at him and left ringside.
The Kings of Wrestling (w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink) d. Sabu and the Sheik (w/ Abdullah Farouk, Rob Van Dam) by DQ when the Sheik attacked Claudio Castagnoli outside the ring with a FIREBALL, injuring him in the process. The Sheik used a FIREBALL against Chris Hero earlier in the raucous match, which saw the Kings of Wrestling on their heels against the rivals ahead of the DQ ending.
U.S. heavyweight champion Ivan Koloff (w/ Boris Zhukov) d. Yukon Eric (w/ Danny Hodge) by DQ when Hodge once again grabbed Koloff’s chain and belted him with it. Yukon Eric controlled the first part of the match, but never seemed to get any serious offense in. When Koloff gained momentum, he used the chain to batter Yukon Eric, unseen by a referee who was distracted by Zhukov. When both Yukon Eric and Ivan Koloff ended up outside the ring, a disgusted Hodge grabbed the chain and exacted some vengeance of his own. Afterward, officials separated the four angry men.
Johnny Valentine came to ringside, grabbed a mic and asked: “Where is Thesz? Where is the worthless world heavyweight champion? He gets a night off just because he won at War Games? Did I get a night off when I won War Games? No, I got robbed by Bill Alfonso and Rob Van Dam last year. Thesz is a clown. Where’s a real BCW world heavyweight champion I can wrestle?”
Down to ringside came Bobo Brazil. “I was a real BCW world heavyweight champion, Johnny, and I’ll be competing to be the world heavyweight champion again in Tampa,” he said. “But let me help you out tonight – in the ring!”
In an amazing match, Johnny Valentine d. Bobo Brazil when he caught Brazil with an ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER and got the pin. The long match went back and forth, with both men getting four pin attempts on the other. Afterward, fans applauded the amazing effort, but a weary Valentine lft ringside and stalked to the back without looking at Brazil.
The BCW world tag-team champions the Road Warriors (w/ Paul Ellering) d. Jimmy Snuka and Magnum TA by DQ when Snuka got up on the turnbuckle and did a SUPERFLY LEAP outside the ring onto Animal, even after being warned by the referee not to do it. The match was not too far in before Snuka hit the leap, and Magnum TA never even got to tag in!

YEAR EIGHT, CARD NO. 26
Tampa Armory (Tampa Tournament)
Commissioner Chad came out to introduce the 32-man Tampa Tournament, with the winner getting a BCW world heavyweight title shot in two cards, and the runner-up receiving a U.S. title shot. The participants were ranked by their in-ring records over the four brackets. With that, the commissioner said, let the tournament begin!
BRACKET A:
In a great match, No. 8 Bobo Brazil upset No. 1 Rob Van Dam (w/ Bill Alfonso) when Brazil connected on a pair of COCO BUTTS for the win. The match turned when Van Dam went after Brazil in the turnbuckle, but the BCW icon moved at the last minute, and Van Dam crashed outside the ring. After that, Van Dam was finished off relatively quickly by Brazil, who showed few ill effects of his big clash with Johnny Valentine on the last card.
No. 4 Chris Candido d. No. 5 Matt Cross of FSW when he connected on a BLONDE BOMB. Candido controlled a majority of the match before getting the pin.
No. 6 Tiger Mask d. No. 3 Danny Hodge in a great match between light heavyweights when Tiger Mask hit his TIGER SUPLEX to get the victory. The two wrestlers shook hands afterward in a sign of respect.
No. 2 Mil Mascaras d. No. 7 “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan by pinning him after a slingshot plancha. Duggan had just returned from an injury and did not appear to be fully ready to handle a challenge like Mascaras.
BRACKET B:
No. 8 Chris Hero (w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink) d. No. 1 U.S. heavyweight champion Ivan Koloff in a long, great match when Hero hit his HERO’S WELCOME to advance. The match featured a lot of back-and-forth action, the use of Koloff’s chain and interference by Humperdink at a key moment when Koloff was up on the turnbuckle about to leap down onto Hero. Instead, thanks to a timely, unseen push by Humperdink, Koloff ended up flat on his face and became an easy target for Hero, who paraded around with the U.S. belt afterward, even though it was not an official U.S. title match. Hero then dumped the belt and headed for the back as Koloff recovered.
No. 5 George “the Animal” Steele (AWA) d. No. 4 Brutus Beefcake when he used his FLYING HAMMERLOCK finisher to win the match.
No. 6 Masked Superstar II d. No. 3 One Man Gang when One Man Gang missed a747 SPLASH and Masked Superstar II used his BACKBREAKER finisher to win the match. The two big men practically moved the ring while battering one another in a brutal match.
No. 2 John Pesek d. No. 7 Sabu (w/ Abdullah Farouk, Bill Alfonso) by DQ when Sabu used his Arabian Facebuster maneuver and was DQ’d by the referee despite the protests of Farouk and Alfonso.
BRACKET C
No. 8 Jimmy Snuka d. No. 1 Ted DiBiase by DQ when John Pesek attacked Snuka outside the ring. DiBiase was busy trying to distract the referee, but the ref spotted Pesek’s actions out of the corner of his eye and called for the bell, sending DiBiase into a frenzy.
No. 4 Yukon Eric d. No. 5 D’Lo Brown (AWA) when he used his KODIAK KRUNCH to get the victory.
No. 3 Terry Gordy d. No. 6 “Superstar” Bill Dundee when he used his ORIENTAL SPIKE for the victory. Dundee did well early with quick strikes due to his smaller stature and agility, but he ended up being no match for physical Gordy.
No. 2 Bruiser Brody d. No. 7 Magnum TA when he hit a one-hand body slam out of nowhere to get the pin. It came after Magnum TA connected on his BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX and just missed getting the three-count.
BRACKET D
No. 1 Johnny Valentine d. No. 8 the Sheik (w/ Abdullah Farouk) in a long, wild match when he used an ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER to win. The Sheik bloodied Valentine with a foreign object early in the match, and the two battled fiercely throughout ahead of the finish.
No. 5 Ricky Landell (FSW) d. No. 4 Boris Zhukov via his FISHERMAN’S BUSTER. Zhukov got to ringside ahead of the match and started yelling at ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta about not having enough time to display his Russian flag. He was so busy complaining that he didn’t hear the referee call for the match to start, and Landell attacked right away, securing the victory.
No. 3 Bob Roop d. No. 6 Masked Superstar I when he connected on his SHOULDER BREAKER finisher. Roop attacked his opponent before the bell rang and did not let up until he had the win.
No. 2 Diamond Dallas Page d. No. 7 Bryan Danielson in a great match when Page hit a second DIAMOND CUTTER on Danielson. Page didn’t quite get all of the first one, and Danielson escaped the three-count before the pin. Danielson went on to get two pin attempts on Page, but couldn’t close the deal, and then Page closed it for him. Page helped Danielson to his feet after the bell.
BRACKET A (SECOND ROUND)
No. 8 Bobo Brazil d. No 4 Chris Candido (w/ Tammy) when he used his COCO BUTT finisher. Candido caused all sorts of problems for Brazil, dominating much of the offense up until the final two minutes of the match. Brazil looked irritated after the match, but finally offered a hand to help up Candido.
No. 2 Mil Mascaras d. No. 6 Tiger Mask using his FLYING BODY PRESS. Tiger Mask had some impressive offense, but ultimately could not overcome Mascaras’ superior strength.
BRACKET B (SECOND ROUND)
No. 8 Chris Hero (w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink) d. No. 5 George “the Animal” Steele when he used his HERO’S WELCOME finisher on Steele. Steele had used his own finisher, the FLYING HAMMERLOCK, on Hero earlier, and almost had the pin, but interference by Humperdink foiled the pin attempt. Steele then went to the upper turnbuckle and lunged at Hero, who moved out of the way in time, then used his finisher to advance.
No. 6 Masked Superstar II d. No. 2 John Pesek when he hit a massive BACKBREAKER on Pesek. Pesek had befuddled him throughout the match with his speed and holds, but after a quick break outside the ring, Masked Superstar II took control and ended the match.
BRACKET C (SECOND ROUND)
No. 4 Yukon Eric d. No. 8 Jimmy Snuka by DQ when Ted DiBiase came to ringside with Virgil and had Virgil attack Yukon Eric, apparently in revenge for Snuka eliminating him in the first round. The attack came as the two competitors were outside the ring and Snuka was trying to regain his balance after Yukon Eric’s WOODSMAN’S CHOP. Afterward, DiBiase and Virgil headed to the back as a very unhappy Snuka pursued them.
No. 2 Bruiser Brody d. No. 3 Terry Gordy by DQ in a battle of the big men when John Pesek once again was caught trying to interfere in a match, this time on behalf of Gordy when both men were outside the ring. Brody had been dominating the match in the ring to that point, and Pesek tried to sneak to ringside to help Gordy, but he was caught in the act.
BRACKET D (SECOND ROUND)
No. 5 Ricky Landell stunned No. 1 Johnny Valentine when he connected on a missile dropkick and got the pin. Landell was aided by the presence of his former manager, Sir Oliver Humperdink, at ringside. At a key moment of the match, Humperdink distracted Valentine, who still appeared to be a little weary after his clash with the Sheik in the first round, and Landell was able to get the pin. Afterward, as Landell celebrated, Valentine shouted, “I’m going to make you pay for that, Humperdink. Believe me!”
No. 2 Diamond Dallas Page d. No. 3 Bob Roop in a great match when he used a Diamond Dream to get the pin. Both men had multiple pin attempts against the other as momentum shifted often ahead of the finish.
BRACKET A FINAL
No. 2 Mil Mascaras d. No. 8 Bobo Brazil using his octopus hold. During the match, Brazil never could find consistent offense against Mascaras, who moved to the final four with the victory. The two wrestlers shook hands afterward in a show of mutual respect.
BRACKET B FINAL
No. 6 Masked Superstar II (w/ Masked Superstar I) d. No. 5 Chris Hero (w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink) when he gave Hero the second of two BACKBREAKERS (Humperdink interfered in the pin count after the first one). Hero was a game competitor, but eventually he couldn’t counter the strength displayed by Masked Superstar II.
BRACKET C FINAL
No. 4 Yukon Eric versus No. 2. Bruiser Brody ended in a double DQ when both men got caught up brawling outside the ring and the referee could no longer control the match, which had already spent as much time out of the ring as in it. As a result, the winner of the D bracket will advance to the final.
BRACKET D FINAL
No. 5 Ricky Landell (w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink) d. No. 2 Diamond Dallas Page to reach the final of the Tampa Tournament. Page never seemed on his game against Landell and never generated any consistent offense, including no DIAMOND CUTTER attempts. Humperdink’s presence also seemed to be a distraction for him. Finally, Landell hit a couple of shinbreakers, followed by a hip toss neckbreaker, and got the pin, meaning he secured at least a BCW U.S. heavyweight title shot, if not a world heavyweight championship opportunity, less than a year after his departure from BCW.
SEMIFINAL
Masked Superstar II (w/ Masked Superstar I) d. Mil Mascaras when he hit a devastating BACKBREAKER on Mascaras, who had directed much of the match until the finish. It was the first loss of the year for Mascaras in singles action.
FINAL
Masked Superstar II (w/ Masked Superstar I) d. Ricky Landell(w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink) to win the Tampa Tournament and get a shot at the BCW world heavyweight championship. Landell tried to use his agility early to gain an advantage, but he was caught by Masked Superstar II, who then used his BACKBREAKER to win the match. Landell, despite the loss, secured a shot at the U.S. heavyweight title.

YEAR EIGHT, CARD NO. 27
Bithoplex
Sabu and Rob Van Dam (w/ Abdullah Farouk, Bill Alfonso) d. S+S when Sabu pinned George South after a leap from the turnbuckle. Van Dam did not even tag into the match, as Sabu was a house afire!
Bryan Danielson d. Chris Hero (w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink) by DQ when Hero took Humperdink’s cane and clubbed Danielson while both were outside the ring. Hero was frustrated by Danielson dominating the offense for most of the match. As Hero looked to inflict more punishment after the DQ, Bobo Brazil ran to ringside and chased him (and Humperdink) away.
Terry Gordy and One Man Gang d. Mil Mascaras and Chris Candido (w/ Tammy) by DQ when Gordy charged Mascaras outside the ring, only to see him move and Gordy plow into Tammy instead! That infuriated Candido, who grabbed his kendo stick and laced into Gordy, prompting the DQ. Officials rushed in to check on Tammy and get the two sides separated. Mascaras seemed more upset that he couldn’t finish the deal despite four pin attempts against Gordy and One Man Gang.
Ricky Landell (w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink) capped a remarkable run back into BCW by d. Ivan Koloff (w/ Boris Zhukov) to capture the U.S. heavyweight championship. Landell won using his FISHERMAN’S BUSTER after the pair got back into the ring following a scrum outside of it. Koloff and Zhukov looked stunned at the turn of events, while Landell and Humperdink celebrated his triumph!
Bruiser Brody came to ringside, grabbed a mic and said, “I’ve got a score to settle with Yukon Eric after the Tampa Tournament, so come on down and let’s finish what the ref wouldn’t let us do the first time!”
Bruiser Brody d. Yukon Eric using his JUMPING KNEE DROP. Once again, the pair were inside and outside the ring, but this time there was a finish and not a DQ. Brody stalked from the ring afterward, still incensed that he missed out on an apparent title shot at the Tampa Tournament.
Commissioner Chad came out and called out the Masked Superstars. He said he knew they wanted a match with the BCW world tag-team champions, the Road Warriors, but since Masked Superstar II had a title match on the next card, the answer would be “no” for now. That brought out the Road Warriors and Paul Ellering, who said: “You got nothing to worry about, Commish, because they are not going to beat us. In fact, in two cards, Masked Superstar II could be a two-time loser!” Commissioner Chad said if that was the way the Road Warriors wanted it, then there would be a title bout – right here and right now!
The BCW world tag-team champions the Road Warriors (w/ Paul Ellering) d. the Masked Superstars by DQ when the Road Warriors tried to use the DOOMSDAY DEVICE on Masked Superstar I, only to have Masked Superstar II push Animal as he was coming off the top turnbuckle! Officials raced to ringside to restore order as the Masked Superstars started attacking Hawk, Animal and Paul Ellering. Before the finish, the Road Warriors had been successful in isolating Masked Superstar I in the ring, keeping him from tagging as they slowly wore him down.
Johnny Valentine came out, grabbed a mic and went down a litany of complaints, from Lou Thesz “ducking him” to Sir Oliver Humperdink’s interference at the Tampa Tournament and “that punk” Ricky Landell winning the U.S. title. Bobo Brazil came out, interrupted Valentine and said, “Well, Johnny, I’m not happy either – I’m not happy that I didn’t win the Tampa Tournament, and I’m not happy that I lost the last time I faced you!” Valentine responded by saying, “You’re interrupting the wrong guy at the wrong time, Brazil. You’re gonna get hurt.” Brazil smiled and said, “Let’s just see about that!”
Bobo Brazil d. Johnny Valentine in a great match when Brazil came off the top turnbuckle with a cross-body block and got the pin. The pair had five pin attempts between them ahead of the finish, and the match was full of back-and-forth action. Afterward, Brazil offered his hand, but Valentine refused to shake it. Instead, he looked angrier and angrier, then finally yelled, “That’s it – I QUIT BCW!” and stalked from the ring as fans booed.
Ted DiBiase came to ringside with Virgil and Andre the Giant, grabbed a mic and said: “Well, Thesz, it looks like you won’t have Valentine hounding you anymore. But since you’re a fighting champion, I think that before you fight that masked clown, you should take on me so I can get MY title belt back!” Down to ringside came the BCW heavyweight champion, Lou Thesz.
BCW world heavyweight champion Lou Thesz d. former BCW world heavyweight champion Ted DiBiase (w/ Virgil, Andre the Giant) when he used the THESZ PRESS to get the pin. The key moment in the match came when DiBiase went outside the ring and it looked like Andre was about to get in. During the distraction, the Masked Superstar came out of the crowd and hit DiBiase with a hard clothesline, unseen by the distracted ref. When Thesz got DiBiase back into the ring, it was easy for him to close the deal. Afterward, the Masked Superstar grabbed a mic and said, “We want you healthy, Thesz, for when Masked Superstar II takes your belt.” That made Andre and Virgil angry enough to pursue him, but Masked Superstar II showed up, and officials got between the two sides as Thesz looked on from the ring.

YEAR 8, CARD NO. 28
Bayfront Center – St. Petersburg
In a rather inauspicious BCW debut, Austin Aries d. George South by DQ when South’s tag-team partner, Larry Sharpe, attacked Aries while he and South were outside the ring. Aries couldn’t seem to get much offense generated against the veteran South, and frustrations were growing on both sides ahead of the DQ finish.
Chris Candido and Tammy came out with Mil Mascaras. Candido took the mic and called out One Man Gang and Terry Gordy, saying there was some “unfinished business” from the last card. Gordy and One Man Gang came to ringside to answer the challenge.
One Man Gang and Terry Gordy d. Mil Mascaras and Chris Candido (w/ Tammy) when Gordy hit a running lariat on Candido and got the pin. Candido survived a 747 SPLASH from One Man Gang earlier in the match, but never tried to tag Mascaras back in, and he paid for it as a result. An apparently unhappy Mascaras left ringside without checking on his tag-team partner after the match, although officials were present to make sure things did not get out of hand.
The Sheik (w/ Abdullah Farouk) d. Larry Sharpe by countout when he stabbed Sharpe with a sharp object (unseen by the referee) and Sharpe rolled out of the ring and decided he wasn’t getting back in. Afterward, the Sheik remained at ringside for the next match.
Ricky Landell (w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink, Naptown Dragons, Chris Hero) d. Sabu (w/ the Sheik, Abdullah Farouk) to retain the U.S. heavyweight championship when he hit a FISHERMAN’S BUSTER on Sabu to get the pin at the end of a wild match. Sabu had the match nearly wrapped up with Landell down, but he opted to go for a TRIPLE JUMP MOONSAULT when he likely could have submitted Landell using his CAMEL CLUTCH. When Sabu missed the moonsault, Landell used his finisher to get the pin. Afterward, a wild brawl broke out between the two sides, and in the confrontation, the Naptown Dragons injured Sabu. When Hero looked to help them, the Naptown Dragons turned on Hero and left him lying as well!
Yukon Eric d. Johnny Rodz by wearing him down into submission using a bear hug. Yukon Eric was focused and worked quickly to dispose of Rodz.
The BCW world tag-team champions the Road Warriors came out and said that since those “cheating dogs” the Masked Superstars were busy with the BCW world heavyweight title match, they’d have to take on someone who wouldn’t be a pair of chumps, so who could answer the call? Out came Ivan Koloff and Boris Zhukov!
The BCW world tag-team champions the Road Warriors d. Ivan Koloff and Boris Zhukov by DQ when the Masked Superstar came to ringside, grabbed Koloff’s chain and belted Animal as he was outside the ring. He then escaped ringside while Koloff and Zhukov were battling with Hawk and Paul Ellering. It took a while for officials to get things settled down afterward.
“Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, wielding his trusty 2x4, came to ringside and called out the “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase: “We’ve got some unfinished business, Mr. Bucks, so get down here right now!” DiBiase came out, took and mic and said, “Duggan, you’re not worth my time, and time is money, so I’ll tell you what – you can face someone who is in your league … Virgil!” At that DiBiase laughed as Virgil got into the ring.
“Hacksaw” Jim Duggan d. Virgil (standing in for Ted DiBiase) via his FLYING SPEAR. In fact, he hit Virgil so hard, Virgil knocked DiBiase right off the ring apron. Duggan then pinned Virgil and celebrated, while DiBiase complained to the referee about the “unfair attack.”
BCW world heavyweight champion Lou Thesz d. Masked Superstar II (w/ Masked Superstar) by DQ when the Road Warriors came to ringside and interfered just as Masked Superstar II had hit his finisher, the BACKBREAKER, on a weary Thesz and was going for the pin. The Road Warriors battled the Masked Superstars as Thesz pulled himself to a corner to recover and the crowd booed over the finish to what had been a strong back-and-forth match.

YEAR EIGHT, CARD NO. 29
Osceola Heritage Park -- Kissimmee
Commissioner Chad came out, said that Johnny Valentine had indeed quit BCW. Therefore, there would be a four-man tournament to name the No. 1 contender for the world heavyweight championship, with the semifinal matches on this card. They would be Diamond Dallas Page vs. Rob Van Dam, and Mil Mascaras vs. Bruiser Brody! He also said the Masked Superstars would be talking with Bill Apter on his “Hot Seat” about their upcoming plans.
BCW world heavyweight champion Lou Thesz d. George South in a nontitle match by using his GRECO-ROMAN BACKDROP to get the pin. Thesz looked sluggish enough during the match that South got a pin attempt and fans seemed disgruntled at his effort.
Brutus Beefcake surprised Jimmy Snuka, getting the submission after using a sleeper finisher. Beefcake jumped Snuka before the bell and poured it on, hitting a couple of FLYING KNEE SMASHES ahead of the finish. Snuka never really got going on offense. Afterward, Beefcake picked up a mic and said, “Maybe I should be in the world heavyweight tournament instead of wrestlers like this washed-up old man!”
Magnum TA came out for his match against the “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, but DiBiase once again sent Virgil into the ring to “wrestle as my proxy.” That brought out Commissioner Chad, who told DiBiase that Virgil wrestling in place of him was fine, but that any win or loss would go on DiBiase’s record! As DiBiase threw a fit, Commissioner Chad said, “Start the match!”
Magnum TA d. Virgil when he used a series of dropkicks to get the pin. While DiBiase was throwing a tantrum, Virgil used the distraction to try to attack Magnum TA before the bell, but Magnum was ready, and he quickly defeated DiBiase’s “proxy,” which brought on more DiBiase tantrums afterward.
In a nontitle match, U.S. heavyweight champion Ricky Landell (w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink) d. “Superstar” Bill Dundee when he connected on his TOP ROPE FIST DROP. Dundee had proved to be quite resilient, kicking out of six pin attempts before Landell hit his finisher.
Bill Apter’s “Hot Seat” featured the Masked Superstars. Masked Superstar I said that his partner should be the BCW world heavyweight champion right now, “because he had Thesz beat after the backbreaker. But no, those jealous, has-been Road Warriors got involved. It’s time to put them in their place. So we’ve asked the commissioner for a match at Wrestlethon – in a cage, for the belts. We plan to go in and make sure they don’t come out!”
Abdullah Farouk came to ringside, took a mic and said, “The Sheik has decided to grant Chris Hero the courtesy of a beating, if he so desires.” Down to ringside came Hero and Sir Oliver Humperdink.
The Sheik (w/ Abdullah Farouk) d. Chris Hero (w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink) by DQ when Hero used Humperdink’s cane to whack the Sheik in the head. The Sheik started the match by striking Hero with a sharp object and nearly got the pin. Hero, with a bloody forehead, stayed in the match and eventually got his revenge after both men were outside the ring. Officials jumped in to prevent further violence.
In a BCW world heavyweight championship No. 1 qualifier match, Rob Van Dam (w/ Bill Alfonso) d. Diamond Dallas Page in a great match when Van Dam hit his FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH for the pin. The two fought for control of the match’s momentum for quite a while, until the key moment came when Alfonso distracted Page while both wrestlers were outside the ring, which allowed Van Dam to take control and eventually hit his finisher.
The BCW world tag-team champions the Road Warriors and manager Paul Ellering came to ringside. Hawk took the mic and said they’d be more than happy to destroy the Masked Superstars in a cage at Wrestlethon. The “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase also came to ringside and said, “Why are you taking on the Masked Superstars when you aren’t even facing the best team you couldn’t beat, the real Million Dollar Team?” Animal took the mic and said, “Why don’t you send them down here right now, and we’ll take care of that!” Ted DiBiase just laughed and waved down Andre the Giant and Terry Gordy.
The Million Dollar Team (w/ Ted DiBiase) d. the world tag-team champions the Road Warriors (w/ Paul Ellering) by DQ in a nontitle match when the Warriors combined to put Terry Gordy through a ringside table before Andre, distracted by Paul Ellering, could stop them. The bout was a wild back-and-forth one, with Animal taking a lot of punishment from Andre but remaining in the match. Afterward, Andre was livid as the Road Warriors grabbed their belts and headed to the back.
In an absolutely amazing match that featured 13 pin attempts, Bruiser Brody d. Mil Mascaras using his JUMPING KNEE DROP to advance to the final of the world heavyweight No. 1 contender bracket. Mascaras had control of the match initially, but the tide eventually turned toward Brody in the lengthy, exciting match.

YEAR EIGHT, CARD NO. 30
Expo Stadium, Cocoa, Fla.
Larry Sharpe stunned the One Man Gang when he connected on a knee drop and got the pin! One Man Gang had been dominating the match, but got greedy and paid for it. As Sharpe celebrated, One Man Gang threw a fit and yelled at the referee while the fans jeered!
In a wild match, John Pesek d. the Sheik (w/ Abdullah Farouk) when he used DOUBLE WRISTLOCK to get the pin. The pair battled through eight pin attempts and some brutal exchanges, which continued after the bell when Pesek used a powerful crossface to injure the Sheik.
Bobo Brazil and Bryan Danielson d. the Naptown Dragons (w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink) when Brazil hit a big hammer punch on Dustin Lee and got the pin. Fellow House of Humperdink member Chris Hero, who came to ringside during the match, shook his head after the finish, then left ringside.
Magnum TA came out, took a mic and said his feud with Ivan Koloff left him without “his” U.S. heavyweight championship. He said he’d been distracted by other things since then, but was now on the road back to the title. With that in mind, he asked if U.S. heavyweight champion Ricky Landell was up for a match. Landell came out and said he had a title defense coming up at Wrestlethon, but he was willing to give Magnum TA a nontitle match now.
U.S. heavyweight champion Ricky Landell (w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink) d. Magnum TA in a long, good match when he hit his TOP ROPE FIST DROP for the pin. There were a total of eight pin attempts between the two men, but the match turned when former U.S. champion Ivan Koloff came to ringside to apparently distract Landell, but instead it was Magnum TA who stopped to notice him, which led to his being pinned.
Bill Apter’s “Hot Seat” featured the BCW world tag-team champions, the Road Warriors. Paul Ellering reaffirmed that they had accepted the challenge of the Masked Superstars for a title match in a cage at Wrestlethon. Animal said, “We were OK with their request, because we are going to brutalize them in that cage, and we’ll make their stay in BCW a short one!” Hawk than finished with, “Oh, what a rush!”
Chris Candido came to ringside with Tammy and took the mic to say: “I still owe you one, Terry Gordy! No tag match this time. Instead, you and me, right here and right now!”
Terry Gordy d. Chris Candido (w/ Tammy) using his POWER BOMB finisher. He ended Candido’s efforts early in the match and gave him a hard kick in the ribs afterward for good measure. Tammy glared at Gordy before attending to the fallen Candido.
Commissioner Chad came out and called out the Masked Superstars. He said that before they had their big tag-team match at Wrestlethon, he thought they’d need a challenging opponent as part of their "training," so he had arranged a match between them and the Oilmen!
The Masked Superstars d. the Oilmen when Masked Superstar II pinned Yukon Eric following a BACKBREAKER. The match was long and great, with a total of seven pin attempts before Masked Superstar II ended the clash with his finisher.
Tiger Mask surprised BCW world heavyweight champion Lou Thesz in a nontitle match when he hit a twisting moonsault and got the pin. The match turned when Tiger Mask hit a Space Flying Tiger Drop outside the ring and was able to recover before Thesz did. After the match, the two shook hands as the crowd murmured about the champion’s loss and his apparent lethargy as of late.
In a No. 1 contender’s match for the right to challenge Lou Thesz for the BCW world heavyweight championship at Wrestlethon, Rob Van Dam (w/ Bill Alfonso) d. Bruiser Brody when Brody crashed into the turnbuckle and Van Dam rolled him up for the pin. Earlier in the match, the pair engaged in a brutal clash outside the ring, and the referee was going to disqualify both of them until Alfonso talked him out of DQ’ing RVD. After the referee DQ’d Brody, Commissioner Chad came to ringside, rescinded the DQ, sent Alfonso away from ringside and restarted the match! Van Dam eventually won the match anyway, but was seen glaring at the commissioner afterward.

YEAR EIGHT, CARD NO. 31
Eddie Graham Sports Stadium
In his return from injury, Claudio Castagnoli (w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink, Chris Hero) lost to George South by DQ when the Naptown Dragons ran to ringside and ambushed South outside the ring. Dustin Lee of the Naptown Dragons then grabbed a mic and said, “Consider this an invitation, you alleged 'Kings of Wrestling.' You don’t like us, and we don’t like you. At Wrestlethon, if you two are man enough, it will be you and us, and the winner stays in BCW, while the loser – or in this case, you losers – goes!” When Humperdink tried to protest, Lee said, “Forget it, Sir Oliver. There is no more House of Humperdink. There can’t be, as long as those two are in it!”
BCW world heavyweight champion Lou Thesz d. Johnny Rodz in a nontitle match when he rolled up Rodz for the pin while Rodz was going for a sunset flip. Rodz had connected on some roundhouse right hands and got a pin attempt against Thesz before the momentum was reversed. As the ref was raising Thesz’s hand in victory afterward, Rob Van Dam came to ringside with a mic and said, “Lou, you haven’t looked too good lately, including tonight., and you’d better bring your ‘A game’ come Wrestlethon, because as you’ll see later tonight, I’m on my way to getting MY world heavyweight championship back. And at Wrestlethon, that’s exactly what’s going to happen.”
In an amazing match, Tiger Mask d. Danny Hodge by using his TIGER SUPLEX! Hodge withstood seven pin attempts and gave Tiger Mask a great battle before finally falling. As Tiger Mask went to check on Hodge afterward, he was belted from behind by Austin Aries! Aries gave Tiger Mask a few additional kicks, then took a mic and said: “You might have beaten some old man, but you haven’t yet beat the best light heavyweight in the world! See you at Wrestlethon, Mr. Overrated!”
Rob Van Dam (w/ Bill Alfonso) d. Brutus Beefcake by DQ when Austin Aries attacked Van Dam from behind when both of the main combatants were outside the ring. After the attack on Van Dam, who had been controlling the match, Beefcake and Aries shook hands and left ringside together.
Yukon Eric d. Bruiser Brody in a wild match when he nailed a jump from the top turnbuckle and got the pin. Brody looked to have suffered some sort of injury due to the maneuver and had to be helped from the ring. The match was a physical, crazy clash that occurred in and out of the ring before the finish.
Jimmy Snuka d. “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase by DQ when members of the Million Dollar Corporation came to ringside to attack Snuka early in the match while DiBiase watched and laughed. But then “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, Bobo Brazil and Bryan Danielson ran to ringside in defense of Snuka. That in turn brought an angry Andre the Giant into the ring to start throwing guys around. As things looked to get even more serious, Commissioner Chad showed up with a mic: “Whoa, gentlemen! No more for today. This has gone on long enough. A lot of guys seem to have issues with Andre, and with you, DiBiase. So here’s what we are going to do: At Wrestlethon, it will be the Million Dollar Corporation – minus Andre the Giant – against “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, Bryan Danielson, Bobo Brazil, Diamond Dallas Page and Magnum TA in a 10-man tag elimination match. If the Million Dollar Corporation wins, then Andre can compete once again for the BCW world heavyweight title, like DiBiase has been asking for. But, if the Million Dollar Corporation loses, then Andre is gone from BCW!” DiBiase laughed, apparently liking his chances at Wrestlethon.
U.S. heavyweight champion Ricky Landell (w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink) d. Chris Candido (w/ Tammy) in a nontitle match when Landell hit his TOP ROPE FIST DROP and got the pin. Like most of his matches, Landell was in some trouble early, but Candido was unable to put him away, and then he couldn’t stop Landell’s rally. Afterward, Terry Gordy and One Man Gang came to ringside for their match. Gordy pointed at a still-recovering Candido, and said, “At Wrestlethon, before I guarantee Andre’s return to the heavyweight title, you and I are going to settle things, and it won’t take very long for me to knock you clear out of BCW – although I might keep your woman here!”
The Masked Superstars d. Terry Gordy and One Man Gang when Masked Superstar I surprised Terry Gordy as Gordy came off the top turnbuckle, hitting him with a Superstar Clothesline and getting the quick pin. The match came off as physical as expected, and got worse afterward when One Man Gang pushed Masked Superstar II off the apron as he was trying to get into the ring, toppling him to the floor. Then One Man Gang hit Masked Superstar I with a 747 SPLASH while a recovering Terry Gordy held his leg, injuring Masked Superstar I and putting the Masked Superstars’ tag title match at Wrestlethon in doubt.
